Why are you doing this the hard way? Easy way; set up fan a couple feet or so above the level of the container, turn it on medium or high and set it where the dust is blown out of the media while you are pouring it in front of the fan. With just a little adjustment you can remove the dust from a bag of media very quickly, minutes actually. I typically do it standing on the tailgate of a truck standing next to a box fan and pour the media into the windstream of the fan and into a big tote sitting on the ground. I have done it on very windy days without using a fan.

I do all the time... That show is the bomb...

Been trying to thing of something I have that vibrates...

I'll have to check the girlfriends dresser drawer...

I was wondering if I could hook up the hose to a piece of PVC pipe across the top with holes every inch....

Use the water to push the CC and screen and clean all in one...

Would the smalls still fall through if wet ?

Get like 10 of your girls willy wigglers and place two of them every 2-3 feet (proportionally to how long your screens are)..

You might need more pressure than a water hose can deliver, use a fat water pump with a res and rip water down that bitch ...

Its not for the dust, its to screen out the bigger particles from the smaller ones...

With the fan you can easily adjust your pour rate to let it remove the smaller stuff too. Either pour closer to the windstream or set the fan on high and adjust. I use a Stanley blower and trust me you can fine tune and get exactly what you want.

Shit bro. .. If she had 10... I would have more time to spend on the grow. ..

Yeah I was thiking the same about the water pressure.
That and I think the water would block the screens holes and just push everything
Down the water slide, smalls included.

Thanks DOD. ..

Sup DR. RW. ..
interesting idea... Would have to get the pour and fan speed just right...
Don't think I would get the balance and could see CC flying every place. ..:tiphat:

I find this to be a PITA.... :beat-dead

Worth it and a one time deal... But PITA none the less...

Took another hour to do a bag and i like having a bag under the rack as it lets you hear how much is falling....

As I process a pile there seems to be smalls falling no matter how long I do it... grrr...lol Difference is the amount... Once it gets to a slow trickle I move on...

Looks like 3 bags per pool....

If I vibrate the bag. It seems to me all the smalls would collect on the bottom... No ?

Oh and shaking or vibrating the rack dont work....
I re ran a pile from the pool and the shit dropped mega smalls...

Sifting by hand works much better and so far seems the only good way to play....

2 cents....

2 bags.did it twice.the first time through 1/8th hardware cloth and then the second through door screen.washing it was harder then screening and still ended up with sediment in my res afterwards.now i am not using till i get my ro system up and running.the ppk did not kill any plants but they did not do well using well water.my water is not that bad ec of .51 to.54 but alot of iron in it.

So I have a mix of 22 plants going to chose
from for wave one this year...

I passed on a few smaller seedlings...
Time to get moving forward...
Trying a few F~GSC in straight CC from seed to tree...

Buried them deep with root tip past mid cup...

I also place a couple (cup in cup) to make sure they stay wet...
Just a little worried about the wicking ability of CC till roots get going....

Also stated lite feeding...

Going to change the Light cycle from 24/0 to 8x4x4x8 ...

Hey Mr_D... Whats the veg light cycle you run ?
I was looking for it but couldn't find it...

Also ive got some things Im adding to this years run and need o figure out the best approach to each....

Protek Silica
Natria 70% Neem Oil
Med-Man Cannabolic Stacker

Thinking
Silica in the Volume tank

Neem sprayed onto plants and the top CC
once a week between floods.

Cannabolic Stacker as a foliar spray...

Things ill be chewing on the next few days...

this is hydropobic neem oil...meaning that most of the active ingredients have been removed via alcohol extraction...go for pure neem oil

Shit...lol saw it at home Depot and jumped on it...
I was thinking to 30% was water... Ops...

Im sure Ill come across some Pure neem at some point...

I also ordered a few Neem Tree seeds from India for kicks....

Figure It might make a nice little side plant in the tent...
I have solid in the backyard from season one and figure I might test it out with neem trees.. Not to mention the CC/coco/perlite back there doing nothing much now....

I flipped the soil and its packed full of worms and looks/feels awesome....
