"Hello, I am V*nf*rnes brother. He wanted me to Thank his friends here of many years for their kindness and for none of you to give up fighting. If you do not know he was arrested at the first of the month along with another man who later snitched out his houses location to get out of jail. My brother remains in jail as of now. We are trying to get together 8500.00 retainer for a federal lawyer. He has been charged with more than 30 kilograms from the outside grow and 172 plants all together. I don't know how much weight from the inside thing he had going. With the charges he has now he is facing 12 to 20 years. In the state we are in he will do 85% of that time. Basically for his age that is life for him and being sick he will receive not treatment."

Just another sad coincidence?

Terrible news. Mr.VG - your new cross looks nice! Is there any news on another Cherijuana F2 drop or perhaps a cross of CB and your pre-'98? Also have you grown Peyote Purple before? I'm wondering if the pre-'98 Bubba is necessary in my stable if I already have a strong representation of Bubba in my PP. I'm not familiar with the cut specifically though.

Hi all, the thread has gone quiet recently, but i wanted to wish all the ICmag organic growers a Happy New Year. It seems that some of the year's 'distractions' have now run their course and i hope not too many peeps lost out and that some lessons have been learned.
A big welcome back to any who have recently decided to return

Lets try and all get along and be respectful of the way people choose to grow in 2014.

sincerely,
VG :tiphat:

some WBK's and an NL. 100w MH. 8weeks from clone on 12/12

i plum forgot about this thread. anyone got a soil mix. or rather an amendment list i can add that will go a whole cycle without running out of nitrogen? managed to make it the whole grow without running out of N this time around. but i also got a bunch of over fert, i was feeding fish emulsion and guano like every watering though.

The meals are gonna be longest release - Neem, Crab, Fish Meal. Some char with a good N soak might help too.

Eclipse posted some good info in the ammendment breakdown times thread. Might be relevant.

Some girls coming along...

looking good guys!

bonghits those buds look nice, i think your pot size is quite small? if so i reckon your N issues will be down to rootbinding as much as they are down to an actual shortage of N in the soil

yeah you would think so, but while the pot was packed with roots on the one plant i've exhumed so far. the issue wasn't really the amount of roots, more so they weren't healthy white. they seem to grow, die off and grow back over and over. little fine roots. i think maybe i actually wasn't watering enough in the end and maybe watering too much in the beginning. just started using coco 1 grow ago. still trying to figure out these drying times. but since i think i'm finally beginning to visualize what's happening inside the coco i'll just keep it slightly moist-damp all the time so the roots don't dry at all like in soil, but not to the point where it's soggy all the time.

seems to be like trying to keep a sponge moist. like those ocello sponges you buy at the store that are already moist in the package.

hopefully next grow i'll get that part down.

but the second part is that i don't wanna have to mix up nutes everyday and water. not that i mind too much, but my lights on time is before work and some mornings i don't wanna wake up early so i can water my plants for 30 minutes.

i have yet to find anything i can mix into coco and have lasting nitrogen for much of the grow, or at least till week 6. i haven't tried using the soil mix i have been using and feeding with ACT yet. i tried it the last time around but i don't know if i was supposed to be using the tea with every watering or what. would that be like feeding your plants with nutes every watering? wouldn't i want to take a break now and then? or do i want to use the tea all the time?

imma try it again for the next grow. i'll prolly buy a tiny water pump so i can do a drip thing.

It would seem like you would want to feed consistently, tapering up and down over time to minimize the disruptive impact on the soil food web.

The worst think you could do would be high dosing irregularly - causing population crashes and seriously F'ing your soil ecology.

So low consistent doses would be my 2 cents with a hybrid approach.

bonghits, one thing you could try is to up-pot to a slightly bigger container at about week 2-3 of flowering, this will give the roots a little extra soil to inhabit and delay the plant/soil running out of steam. (too much of an up-pot may lead to waterlogging problems though)

if you find the medium is drying a bit too quick and killing some roots then dont be scared to let the pot stand in a saucer and leave a bit of water/runoff in there. you want just enough to last a few hours and it should defo all be gone well before the time you water again.

looks like what happens is that since the pots are rootbound at transplant they never really populate the new soil, and just keep for the most part growing in the original rootball. the roots that do spread to the new pot are weak and few. i'll have to remember to break up the root ball and slice em up a little when i transplant. it's like i got retarded over the years and forgot basic shit. i got the root ball occupying the top section of the pot and the bottom is moist, soggy even i can poke a finger in a drain hole and have water drip out, but the top section is completely dry. watering makes the top wet again, the bottom just stays wet and doesn't dry out. when it does dry at the bottom the top is so dry and the ph is all off and then the leaves burn and i get defs. definitely gonna get that shit handled next time around. which will be in a few days. gotta go mix that soil.
