And this is a female (#2) of Ortega F2, with very sweet scent, and very greasy resin...thin but sticky glands, can´t wait to try some hashish from her:

The other one, Ortega F2, female #1

This other one has fat calyxes and pistils, which gives her a strong cotton bud appearence. Big producer even though she´s in a small pot (5-6 gals.)

Nº2 is my fav by far. Big yielder, nice pine-lemon-cream-soft aroma, and superb calysx/leaf ratio than nº1. Still have a couple to chop, maybe tomorrow. They´re both done.

The Zamal/Warlock Serie

The Zamal/Warlock Serie

It all started just here:

Hello Ezra & hieagle420,

I've grown approx 30 Zamal that Gypsy gave me approx 5 years ago.
The initial germination rate wasn't very high but raised above 90% after I "cracked" the shell's.
Sadly, I only got 2 males that reverted in to females before I could collect any pollen so I could not preserve the Zamal in it's pure form.
The most common phenotype was a lanky/branchy Sativa with loose buds that had a soft carrot aroma and little to zero trichome production on the leaves but abundant on the flowers.
The flowering times did vary a lot but I suspect that much of the variation occurred because of a difference in the "age trigger", so its probably more a difference in the "on-set" of flowering than a difference in the duration of flowering.
There where 2 exceptions to the rule namely:

A) Standard growing pattern but with the carrot aroma intensified in a way that it became more of a peppery smell (I hope this makes sense).

B) A more upright growing pattern with slightly more firm long "foxtail" cola's, but with the same carrot aroma as the others.
This one also had the longest flowering period (17 weeks).

The high that they produce is a bit to much Sativa for my liking, same goes for the crosses made with it. (I'm having enough trouble to keep focus as is)

Both types above where used in a test cross with the Warlock and given out as free-packs (most of them in Spain).

Although I was quite happy with the performance of the A-line I decided not to offer/market it for commercial reasons.

The B-line did not "improve" much compared to it's Zamal mother aside the fact that the males found among them where stable (did not change in to female).

The growing pattern that hieagle420 describes (branches sagging down and then growing upwards again) sounds like the A-line and is coming from the Zamal mother.
Maybe some people remember, I was kidding around presenting it as "Cannabis Asparagus" at the HTCC '02 or '03.

I can't really say that I'm still working on it, but I still can (and will occasionally) reproduce the A-line since I've preserved both parents.
The small batch that I still have is already "spoken for" but I will have some more within a few months, I will ask Gypsy if he would make them available as "freebees on request".

Kind regards,
Gerrit

In 2010 I selected a male from those seeds. Concretly, i got that male from a Zamal A x Warlock. It was nice, balanced and fruity when you rubbed the stem. I just touched every female i´ve put up in bloom a few days before. Love and nature did the rest

Warlock and Zamal phenos

Warlock and Zamal phenos

Hey ElRubio,

Nice going with the Masabindi male (Zamal A x Warlock). I have been doing something similar this season and had a nice Masabindi male too that I have crossed with the 2005 Warlock x (Zamal B x Warlock).

This photo is a few months old, perhaps mid-Aug, of the W x (Zb x W):

picture.php

here's an early shot of the Masabindi male, flowering early in July so I think it's most likely the Zamal A pheno more than the Warlock. It also has the Zamal A characteristic carrot-to-pepper scent change over the months and a super bushy framework:

Peace,
Madjag

Hiya!

Hey Madjag, thanks a lot for chime in...i didnt know even the Masabindi was the zamalA/warlock...go figure...

i´m absolutely happy with the crosses with the Masabindi male i´ve already tested, such as the Hindu Kush and the ECSD. In fact, the ECSDxMAsabindi has that carrot-to-pepper strong smell, it has vanished the Sour Diesel (lime, lemony, sour) aroma onto a very peppery-earthy one, more related to haze crosses like SSH or NL5H...strange, but delightful anyway.

Here are some more pics of HinduKush x Masabindi. Chopped last 5th october:

High!

thanks a lot for stopping by Highlighter
Yeah, i know this HxA bring back memories to some of you, the older ones specially...Hippie seeds which Raco kindly shared with me years ago. I tried three this summer, but only this female sprouted...sad!
Nice female although, im gonna give her another bacht indoor now. Super earthy smell and taste, giggly and redeyed after a few tokes. Potent. I´m curing it right now, just 1 week in jars.

Right now i´ve just tried some hits of ECSD x Masabindi. It was only 11 days of dry, but burned very well for sure hehehe
I ave a strong feel high, sooo clear. That sort of electric buzz, but very clear, lot more than the ECSD. And the most strange thing is the taste. She never reminds the diesel, instead of this she has strong peppery flavor. I´d love to add more, but its just pepper. Cant feel the carrot or mangoes from zamal, or yes but like they were rotten. Its deligthful at all.
She was harvested t 10th october at 40ºN. Not but at all for this kind of high, which i felt before only with certain sativas like tijuana, titans haze, original haze, etc...
