All I know is someone found a full male in the Chem '91 S1 seeds that Cob made and gifted to Seedbay...

And there are legit male / female seeds of pure chem lines now...

Ohhhhhh yes...further down the rabbit hole I go...

^^^hahahaha Hummus Monk - lol - fwiw - it was THAT guy that found the male...lol.

I don't know if there has ever been a fully 100% chem line that breed male / female - without having been outcrossed first...I don't know...

But there is a few now....muuuuhahahahahaha... Should be some interesting possibilities.

I'm really interested to see what comes of the beans. Be very interesting to see pure chem lines compounded together.

Chem Sister x Chem '91 male will be super interesting for me, personally...

lol...Well, because I trust Cob when he makes his beans to keep it clean. I trust hummus when he sprouted them and found a male...lol... A full male does show every so often from within S1 lines - it's not an unheard of happening.

Rather than be skeptical - be excited. :tiphat:

Pure Chem m/f lines has been a long time coming. I'm just glad I'm in the circle to get to sort a few of them out!!! :woohoo:

lol - man - a "tiny" hand in it...lol

Yeah, it's cool to be a part of something so much bigger than yourself! That's exactly how I feel about most of my "work" - just another hand furthering what someone before me started, for the most part...

But it makes me laugh...I've had my pollen used on the other side of the big pond - and it's awesome that such a community exists when the WORLD can know what is going on with a strain and how it is advancing.

Pure chem lines really is a step forward for many reasons. I mean, Stardawg is pretty much the standard for Chem lines these days, in my opinion...so it'll be interesting to see the comparisons...

Well Cob also said none of those S1's were much like the clone, so anything is possible. It's hard to put too much stock in this because what was there like 5, 5 packs of those released. The only person I have seen even say they grew them besides MoneyMike is HummusMonk.

What's up with the loompa c91? Skva bagseed? Renamed cut?
RandyCali and Obs are the only other two people besides loompa I've seen talk about this plant.

HITH - I think you may be missing the point. I shared pollen from a 100% male found in Cob's S1's. This pollen is rare. Very rare. Maybe even unique (so far). It seemed to me a crime not to share it with people who could do it justice.

Now it may be an amazing breeder on a purely 1:1 basis with non-chem cuts. It may not. But we will soon see.

However I'm very confident that searching through the offspring of say ChemD, Chem3, Chem Sis, Skunk Va will throw up some stellar males and females that can be put to further use. Let's not forget this male pollen contains pretty special DNA.

Worth a shot I think. So stay positive...it may turn out great. It may turn out to be a hermie disaster. But let's criticise it and knock it only if that happens.

How do you know it's 100% male? did you do a PCR to know it's genetic make up and a FISH/PCR test on it and find the Y ?

Hmmm it came from intersex/random pollen to start with, this line didn't it? the Chem that is.....

Well I stressed the male with irregular lighting, bending and pinching. Only produced male flowers. Not one pistil.

Thanks for your concern...and I'm gonna have a lot of fun searching through the seeds.

So let me ask everyone:

If you had found this 'male' (lol) what would you have done and why?

That still doesn't make it male. the presence of the "Y" would though. I'd of killed it.

Can I get the pollen tested to find the 'Y'?

could you elucidate as to why it isn't possible for it to be a male?

You seem pretty set in your opinions so what's your reasoning?

So a plant that only has male flowers. Produces pollen. No pistils whatsoever. Is a female. Great! This is because it derived from hermie pollen?

Hmmmm i'm not convinced. Convince me. Don't post links though. YOU convince me.
