FUCKING RAIN!

Every year it always happens. Seems to also be on a friday. Late in the season, usually a bit before everything is really done, there's a one-night rain storm that throws a wrench into the works.

Kicking myself in the ass for not making the hoop-hut that I'd told myself I was going to make.

Forecast was for drizzle and scattered showers overnight, but instead it fucking POURED all night and into the morning.

I woke to find half of one of my outdoor gardens basically on the ground. I cut and hung the broken branches, and staked the surviving plants. All in all the damage isn't too bad, I'm having to chop a portion before it's totally done, but it was all takeable, so that's OK, but now i'm praying I don't get mold on the rest.

Starting in on trimming early tomorrow, gonna trim the broken branches, and keep going until the rest looks good so I'll feel OK baout letting the rest go until the end of the month.

Anyone else scrambling in Norcal because of the rain?

Over here in the North East we got hit hard last night with torential downpours and high winds. Knocking big limbs off trees and all.
I got soooo lucky and harvested my outdoor Critical+'s 4 hours before the rains began.
What a fantastic summer. Just had 2 weeks of great weather to finish my flowers nicely.
Hope your buds were done enough to be potent and the effects still good.
Happy harvesting.

Im up in the triangle, and took a licking, its karma for not having my plants tied off, protested, and ready for this...... when im knowing better...

anyway...I managed to run out with some twine, and whipped them up like when you buy Xmas trees.... gonna cut em loose when im sure the weather is better.... crude but effective.

I got one of my gardens tied up before the rains and it did OK with just a few broken plants/branches.

My other garden though, oh Man I wanted to cry! All that work, and soo close to done, all bent over to the ground and with broken branches everywhere.

I cut the broken branches and hung those, spent the whole next day staking and tying, all is back to OK again and still on schedule for Oct 1st.

past two summers i have been out of the game but the weather seems to have repeated itself twice over. Winter wonderland on halloween when i was growing, sandy the next year..and then the torrential rain a few days ago. perfect ratio of rain/sun until mid flower... then the rain hits.... two nights ago was the first we got all during september... and hopefully that will be all. but seriously..? all i could think about was u guys out there.. all the work you all put in this year.... my heart is with you ALL! I remember the devastation.. Staying out in the rain for 3 hours to keep my hoophouse grounded. no kidding it took over a year to get over.... but the hash that i made lasted longer!!! im finally on the scraps. My fingers are crossed for you all, especially the northeast.. lord knows we cant catch a break... love

Two of my biggest snapped at the base and went down along with their cages. Sucks, but at least they were some of the furthest along.

in northern sonoma county got a solid 24 hours of rain . No broken limbs ... bit i have seen sum mold showing up . Trying to make it to next weekend and i will chop . Hope all is well with everyone elses gardens . Peace and pot

Chopping this weekend as well. I also am finding some mold, but not too much. I'm going to hold out til Friday.

Renting the Twister trimming machine because just too much to do. Not a bad problem. Paying the going rate for hand trimming would cost me $8-$10 grand, so the $1000 a day rental doesn't seem too bad if i can get it all done in a day.

I also got hit hard with rain the last couple weeks. I lost at least a half pound of finished product because of the rain snapping limbs off. Sucks, but oh well, life goes on. The early branches that broke off are gonna be made into oil!!!! How do ya like me now mother nature!!!!!

It's been hit or miss around these parts, mostly hit. Horti-net and emergency twine has been crucial. Bought a nice gas powered leaf blower for mid morning drying. Looking good though and stay safe everyone!

A whole week of beautiful weather in the NorthEast to finish everones buds proper! Happy Harvesting everybody! :tiphat:
And NO! Those sounds of leaves are just squirrels and the sticks snapping are just old limbs falling off the trees, not the cops. Stop your hands from shaking and have peace while harvesting. Enjoy it. LOL

Here is what Sunday says via NOAA for me:
Rain likely, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Yeah, sounds pretty awesome! I have to go! See everybody later...
