got my timer in yesterday and have them set to water for a minute every 4 hours until they get established and then i will bump it up to every 90 minutes and really tune in the system. they seem happy so far. still very perky and look like they are gonna do great

not too much going on at the moment im afraid lol. its literally like watching the grass grow. anyways, i wrapped the buckets in about a quadruple layer of panda film so thats taken care of. next on the list is cleaning day for tomorrow. got a lot of trash and recyclables to get rid of as well as general cleaning.

i got absolutely nothing done today. i had to put my 13 year old dog down today. bad arthritis and she suffered a stroke sometime in the last 24 hours losing control of her right side. its been a shitty day to say the least. i stayed for the sedative but couldnt watch the final injection. i made sure she knew we were there for her. she will be missed

sorry for your loss brother.

i just cant catch a fucking break. my wifes boxer was just diagnosed with a tumor thats causing blood to fill her abdomen. they are doing xrays and possibly surgery on sunday but i dont know what to do. she is up there for a boxer at 10 years old and they dont know if the surgery will do anything for sure except for deplete about 3 thousand dollars i dont really have. losing two dogs in one week is just not acceptable. i am supposed to leave out of town for a week in 2 days and now i dont know what to do. they said if they do the surgery she will have to stay there at least 3 days and can stay longer if we are out of town. fuck. my wife is gonna be devastated.

When it rains it pours huh? Fuck man, sorry about your luck. My dogs are family, and I know how it feels to lose one. Can't imagine losing two in a week :comfort:

so its been a pretty rough week putting one dog down and then the cancer bomb being dropped on our boxer but i am trying to get back on track. everything is going good with the grow at least lol. good growth rates in the ppk thus far. gonna free willy some beneficial insects soon. got a few whitefly stragglers i wanna kill before they take hold.

my blue dream under the 1k hortilux are looking fantastic. got em at 1ec since they were burning at 1.2 like whiny bitches.

thats a random bubblegum from mosca in the center of the ppk. i figure why waste the light? as soon as they are up out of the containers im gonna veg vertically.

Sorry to hear bout the pups DH....Wanted to stop in and put it out there that plants veg "completely" different with bare bulbs than with horizontal lighting......

Intense horizontal light at 50 watts per sq ft stacks nodes and laterals while reducing internode elongation , and with the proper hybrids once flipped 12/12 explode UP as well as out to fill in the "upper" as well as sideways canopy to take full advantage of the sideways lumens/par/umols wtf ever yas wanna call the light penetration/absorption....

Veggin with bare bulbs forces the plants to bush out sideways from the get toward the light source from the response to stimuli type thingy , and without the proper hybrids will never stretch up far enough height wise to as stated above "take full " advantage of the bare bulbs.....IOW....

If sq ftg is limited for the grow area it`s best to veg with either T-5`s that can be dropped right down on top of the plants , or horizontal MH`s or HPS to as also stated above stack nodes , laterals , and keep internode elongation in check.....anyways....

I know a lot of folks that veg in the same room as they flower in with bare bulbs , but they also know their strains and where they`ll end up sideways as well as height wise by end of stretch , so thoughts to ponder......Good luck and....

Happy Labor Day , and .......Here`s hopin the boxer will be ok as well as your new "learnin curve" PPK`s.....

Peace....DHF.....:ying:.....

hey, DH, first i'm sorry you lost your pet and i hope the other one is ok! i'm not in the dog business right now but i've got a special kitty i'm real bonded to. i wouldn't know what to do without her.

and i'm sorry it has taken me so long to get here but you know the circumstances.

looking at your thread everything looks real good but the tip burn on the blue dreams should not be occurring just from nutrient strength at 1.2.

are you flooding every 90 minutes? i think i read where you are not flooding the new plants as often.

in this device you are watering the medium and not the plant so much and it looks to me that the medium may be drying a little too much between watering.

i'm putting un-rooted clones directly into 1.2 ec flooded every 90 minutes just like the big plants and they are all rooting fine with no displays.

i have yet to lose one.

600 ppm is very mild.

now that i've posted here i'll see any new activity on "my posts" and will check you out more often.

thank you for trying this!

thanks for the well wishes everyone. my boxer is doing pretty good for right now. she is acting like her happy self for the time being.

D9, my blue dream are in bulk rockwool and they seemed to be getting burned even at the low end of 1.2 ec. i will switch my floods to every 90 minutes tonight. the plants in the PPK are chemmy jones and any burn that is on them was from when they were cloned. they are growing happy and healthy right now.

DHF, i took hung the bulb vert to veg right now. looks brighter for sure. put some reflectix up behind them to help keep some light on their backsides.

i did a little organizing and hung some stuff up so i wont lose shit as much.

and here's my little boxer that i hope is gonna pull through. we were trying to get her a friend today but the french bulldog i was looking at got bought out from under me :(

so things took a turn for the worse and we had to put our wonderful boxer down while we were on vacation. she was the best dog we ever had by far. she had a wonderful last day at the beach in san diego chasing seals and visiting my parents. we got another boxer and this little girl has some really big shoes to fill lol.

anyways, back to the grow. the ppk did good on its own for 4 days. i came back to one had that almost quadrupled in size and the others doubled or more. still working out some minor kinks but i think ive got it down. i had to add a tiny bit of azatrol to my rez and i hope its not gonna mess with the stability too much but its a hassle i have to deal with since my "partner" (and i say that as sarcastically as possible) left a whole box full of whitefly infested trim in a box in the center of the grow room. i was not too happy when i returned. i had them under control and contained to one tent that was flowering and couldnt spray or treat but then she released the monsters in the heart of my plants lol.

im gonna put an underwater aquarium filter in the res to help keep junk out since i have to use the azatrol. i hope it keeps things clean. does anyone know if its ok to use h202 or bleach in a ppk? im getting some algae on the media

anyways here are the pics

Cute pup DH  Also don't see any reason why you couldn't use bleach or h2o2 in a ppk. Someone mentioned SM90 working for algae in my thread. No experience with that myself, but something else you could try.

a few updates on my flowering blue dreams. they are looking good except for a little bit of curling up on some of the teeth on the leaves. low rh? the first ones are blue dream cut i got and the last is blue dream from seed(humboldt seed org)

my ppk is doing good so far but two are really taking off and the other two are slow starters lol. i hope they catch up

did some lollipopping on my blue dream plants in the horizontal test tent. came out looking real nice. i think i trimmed off enough. the 1ks should be able to penetrate pretty nicely now. i also defoliated quite a bit to help out with penetration even more.. the first ones are my clones i got and the long branched one is my BD from seed.
