93 in high school, holy shit!

Don't get me wrong I'd be a complete dumbass if I didn't recognize the immense talent that is CK.

The sky is the limit for him.

Let's not write him up as the 'second coming' just yet.

I can't help but think d coordinators are going to figure out defensive schemes to slow down the read option. And let's be honest, he's going to take hits running that offense.

New rules apply to hits on the QB, don't they?
Harghbaugh is worried the Packers are targeting Kapernick, right?

Ask RG3 if it's easy staying healthy, running the read option.

Decent 1st half between Broncos and Ravens. :ying:

Kaepernick has all of the physical tools, is mentally tough (remember his first pass in the GB playoff victory was an Int returned for a touchdown) and works his butt off. The most controversial thing about him is his fondness for tattoos.

I was just concerned about picking him because my only other qb is Pryor. If he doesn't have a wow season, my chances for a championship diminish.

I agree with Storm Shadow, the Niners are committed to a balanced offense. I could see Kaepernick throwing for less than 4k yards and 30 tds for the season. Sure he'll have some 3-4 td games (running and throwing) but he'll also have some 0-1 td games (they still might be wins for the Niners, but not fantasy goodness for Kaepernick).

Upside for him is that Harbaugh lets him loose, he throws for 4200-4400 yds, gets 30-32 tds through the air and another 8-9 and 650 yds on the ground. Keeps his TO's low, less than 10 on the season. Finishes as a top 5 fantasy qb.

i called balmur over san fran last year before the season started. if only i had had the foresight to drop a c-note on it at the sports book. i wonder what the odds are against someone being able to do that shit twice.

saints over denver by 10.

I'm not a Denver fan, but I was very happy to see Baltimore get smoked the other night. They're gonna be running uphill all season long if they don't get their shit together.

Luck is not better than Kaep. The comparison is laughable.

Go 9ers!

That is all...

Now that the league ruled that you can hit qb's when they're executing read option fakes, even if theyre handing off, anyone concerned that CK might get injured during the season and have to miss games?
He's tough and has good size, but still smaller than most of the beasts that will be looking to smack him around.
I'm thinking Harbaugh will limit how many times they run the read option because of this...

Not worried about him getting hit. He barely got touched last year. He'll do whatever he has to do to avoid the hits and our offense is going to be hard to defend, not because of the read option, but because Kaepernick spreads the field like no other QB can with both his arm and legs.

This is what I'm talking about.

OG has faith in his QB, and should, but let's be honest, shit happens.

Especially running an 'o' like the read option.

And yeah, last year he didn't get hit, but defenses adjust to new offensive schemes, once the unfamiliarity of them, wears off.

OG, as a football fan, and you are clearly an educated one, I know you have witnessed what I'm talking about.

I didn't know Kaepernick's family was on ICMAG, the kid is going to come back to earth this year, the sophomore slump will be in full effect.

and the guy who got Terrelle Pryor oh man you're fucked dude sorry:thinking::biggrin:

my unbiased prediction is that andrew luck will have a better year than collin kapernick. I also think aaron rodgers won't have a great year.

400 yds and 3 tds. Depending on what happens tonite and tomorrow, that will be the 2nd highest point total for a qb this week, behind only Peyton.
CK was slinging it all over the place, and hardly ran at all. Maybe GB's defense is still stinky poo poo, but maybe he's really that good.

Even Pryor looks serviceable on a fantasy bench. Had as many or more points as Brady, Newton, Freeman. Over a hundred yards on the ground, he'll probably lead the league in QB rushing yds. Even threw a td, and had a couple end zone int's, the last one trying to force it into the end zone at the end of the game. So maybe the Raiders aren't completely hopeless after all.

He just goes out of his way to avoid hits. He's been told to. He is also exceptionally hard to catch from behind and all that anyway. 22mph in pads with a football in your hand and no major track and field training vs Usain Bolt who ran 27.9mph in his world record performance.

He's off the charts talented. He's more talented than any other QB to ever enter the league. And you are absolutely correct that there's so much more than raw physical skill. But it's pretty clear to me the kid has it upstairs.

Came into college, pretty humble, lit it up his first ever start where he was thrown into action as a freshman on raw talent. The mental side of his game developed over the 4 years steadily. His highlights and top plays were all the kind of plays most NFL QBs aren't capable of (from college).

Harbaugh thought he was the best player in the draft that year too. As he confided in his father.

And of course, injuries can happen, no doubt. Football is very unpredictable like that. But even if he couldn't run his arm is so good that it wouldn't matter too much once the mental side of his game fully matures.

Wonderlic and performance in big games (and his response to mistakes - I believe he drove for a TD after all his TO's last year minus one in the playoffs) all indicate big things mentally as well.

Anyway, it was a good win today. Fangio didn't rotate anyone on defense really, once again. I do not like Fangio at all. I think he is stupid and I think Mangini was brought in to replace him eventually.

CK was fantastic.

I'd take that sophomore slump statement, tuck it under my pillow, and leave it there.

Lions win. Lions win!

Yea AP had the one big rushing play at the start of the game, 14 rushing yds the remaining 56+ minutes!

Bush played DAMN well, more yds from scrimmage than AP had!

412 yards, 3 TDs....and you call that a "sophomore slump?" LMAO! I'll take it. Keep drinking that haterade.

It's silly to think that Kaep isn't a legit top qb in the league. I admit I think that GB d is atrocious at least in the secondary, they did a nice job of stopping the run but CK sliced them up in the pass game. I don't think he is gonna have 400+ passing yards per game but he is easily capable of doing it on any week.
