How troublesome....

How troublesome....

Update; yes.
Pix; not just yet..

Troublesome.. Oh yes...
Well, some info first;
In sweden we have something called "allemans rätten" (someone translate it please..)
Directly translated it means: all people rights

Its a law that allow anyone to walk on your land, pick berries and mushrooms, enjoy ehatever scenery there might be and so on. (Ofc, this does not allow people to enter your yard where you live... But forrests and fields and similar..)
Anyway; the berry-part of this include that during season will alot of thai/polaks/ukrain-people go here, work long hard days and hopefully earn quite some cash.

Anyway; one of my surveilance-cameras sent me a mail showing a intruder closeby my perimeters, so I rushed there and found a single thai walking just 50 meters from my garden, picking blueberries.
I let him know I was around, he took up his phone and had a 1 minute tlk in thai while I seated myself on a log and just watched him for a lil while, then I checked out the plants in the garden. Nothing was touched...
After that I approached him, stopped at 15 meters behind a small pine to not allow him to get a good look at me, said "hello" in thai. We smiled at each other and waved, then I backed off and went home.

I was least to say supriced that anyone found his way there... Its really no ways to get there but to walk throu forrest without paths.

Im planning on harvesting the first big round on monday, there is alot of finished plants to take care of.
Thou Im a bit concerned about the encounter... Im thinking like this; that guy was probably scouting places to pick berries at (usually they are like 10 ppl together...)
And i show up there like 20 minutes after he got there. I assume he found my garden but what can he do?
He know that Ive seem him.
He has no use for more then a zip of weed.
Is he/they were to harvest all the cb they still have noone to sell it to.
Callthe police may be more trouble for them then they want, and they would gain nothing on setting me up.

Soo... I hope they wont get any ideas and raid my garden...

Kind of a messy afternoon, but I feel......awkwardly calm about it.

Ill snap shitloads of pics before harvest and make a update on all strains with pics when im done trimming.

Stay calm, stay safe!

damn man...be carefull..you never know...i hope for the best...next time just cut his head off and bury him somewhere, 'cause it goes without saying that you can't turn him loose..hahaha :)

Usually foreign people don't want to do any business with local police, plus thai people have lot's of tolerance toward different things. I wouldn't worry to overly.

Day 94. Harvest #1 !

Day 94. Harvest #1 !

Edit;
Weedr; I get your point.. But its really not fun to speak about killing people. Especially not over weed, even ment as a joke :'/
lasthippie; Thats somewhat my experience to. Thais seem to to not like to mind others business, they have another sort of respect for each and everyones own business compared to what im (we?) are used to; and of top of that they have problems with corrupt local polices back home. So any shit they might bring in could backfire. (hope they think thesame about swe-police..)
mr.D: Wild, oh yes, WILD! Hihi!

Hey there folks!
Im so sorry for keeping you waiting but my life is full of... things(!!) right now!
(And even more sorry for not having a decent camera to take pics with. Hope you can stand it anyway..)

First a little summary..
It seems like the Thai(s) went there, the whole bus, to check out the garden. cus the amount of footprints in the clay on the "best way" there were multiplied when i checked the next day.
I didnt get anything on the camera, so I really dont know what happened out there.

The garden was untouched anyway(PHEW!). Some plants show signs of beeing more then ripe, others are just starting to flower.

I took down about 25 plants and left a few lower branches to ripen up until next harvest-round. The weatherforecast seems promising, and I didnt find ANY mold anywhere at the harvested crop(!!)

However; I felt a urge to get some crop in and some plants were harvested a bit early... others a bit late..
Truth be told; Im a little bit concerned that someone off the grid has knowledge about the grow. : /

Here is the AK47-Scrog.
The first 3-4 plants are close to done, others have weeks left.

Next up is the Fruit. Note that the right one had to struggle quite hard vs snails during the first weeks..

Part #3 Day 94

Part #3 Day 94

okay, are we ready for the third part of this update?
Yes we are!

So, These (GhazeXC99)xC99 really impress me.

There is a few different phenos in there, and generally; The dark/black matured way ahead of the rest. They were a bit over their time, but it was perfect with the rest of them, except one. The biggest one.
That one need another 10 days or so to finish.

And here is the Grass O Matic.

This and the Autowappa is probably the best yielders among the really fast ladies.

I guess the AutoMazar, AV AK47 and AV NL will outyield them, but they are all some weeks slower. (And this means risk of mold at my location...)
btw, in the back can you see one of the (GhazeXC99)xC99 that I left ro ripen up a lil more.

Heya! Thank you! Im glad to see you here!
I havent smelled em all. Can do when I visit them at their dryingracks today.
I do remember 2 typical smells. The dark ones were more like fruit/candy/sweet, and the green phenos were more spicey. 1 green had the smell of lemon w. pine.

Ill smell em at their dryingracks and see if I can find some more smells, but I doubt it at their current dryingstate.

Ya, there is for sure some strains n' phenos to try out.
Ill try to be serious and wright a smokereport on each and everyone of them.. but I make no promises.. Hehehe...

Nice auto's btw, loving the purple ones. Thanks!

Final pics of this round;

We start with the AK47 that I reversed to a male with CS. This is one of the branches..
I have a problem with both those males. a mold-problem.
The other male has been culled cus of bad branching and early mold.
The keeper is getting a little hit by mold now to..
I guess they taken some crap from the spray-solution thats been happening morning and evening. And on top of that I didnt think it throu really.. So they stand a little trapped inbetween some crap, and this restrict the winds.. I havent thought about it previously, but it should do quite some difference I guess. Sad, but learing by doing, eh?

This one is 105 days from seed, reversed about 3,5 weeks into flower.
picture.php

I think.. errr.. I have a plan!
The pollen will be quite late, so I think I will take in some branches from desired plants from the garden and blast them with 24/7 and hope that they get stressed and prolong their flower or even do as the necrotic 4 plants and reveg. This would allow me to have a small, small SoG in the veg-chamber, for making fem seeds til next years adventure.

Aye.. and.. about those necrotic plants... I evolved my theory about what happened.
I planted them in early june, its still a lil dark during the night. But the days are getting longer and longer. So I believe they stressed into flower at transplant and then got the 24/7 light that forced them to reveg.
I read on some AF-breeder homepage/forum that you should veg them under 20/4~ to make sure that exactly this not happens when transplanting, and acctually it makes sense/seem logic. True AF or not, there got to be some limits to how they respond to stress..

Over to the last four pics:

Day 94 Moby Dick

Day 94 Black Jack

Im really longing to get back to the garden and see whats going on.
The weather seems to be just great for another week. (great is 18-20C during day and 8-10C during night) LOL!

Phew, And I need to get back on track with my indoor too...
I have 10 random freebies, a Crit+ and a Cheese in the veg. Gonna be a interesting strainhunt...

Take care friends!

Stay safe!

I guess this grow is finished by now and you're trying to cure your bleeding hands and blisters from all the trimming? :)

If you're finished, I'd sure like a litte bit of a summary, what worked ,what didn't and so on.
Mold resistant strains seems to be the way to go when growing in upnorth contions.
Did you plant anything of this from seed and did it survive?
What was deathrate of the plants?

Anyways nice grow! I hope you're happy with the results, looks like you put allot of time in for this shit :)

have you checked your soil pH? some of your plants seem obviously stunted in growth which indicatetes very acidic soil. But aside of that very well done!

Im in the middle of the harvest. About 50% is chopped down and trimmed.
If you're finished, I'd sure like a litte bit of a summary, what worked ,what didn't and so on.

Yeah.. But then again: Luck with the weather seems even more important.
Did you plant anything of this from seed and did it survive?
From seed? As in seeded outside? No. I did not, but I will sure try it next year!
The stunt during transplant is outrageous! I hope to cut this with direct seeding, and risk the possible frost during late May.

What was deathrate of the plants?
I dont know. 7-8% maybe. and then i slayed some unwanted plants such as males, or really snailattacked plants.

Anyways nice grow! I hope you're happy with the results, looks like you put allot of time in for this shit

Thanks alot! Yeah, Im happy with the results, but.. concidering how much work this is vs getting a kilo weed indoors.. Well.. Its insane.
But next year Ill be set for a easy ride.
There will be a sumup later on when all is done, and.. alot of posts hold already quite useful information. :)

have you checked your soil pH? some of your plants seem obviously stunted in growth which indicatetes very acidic soil. But aside of that very well done!

I see some plants that show nutes-problem, aye, but I really dont know what you refere to as pH-issues.. Would you mind to be more specific?

Its thesame soilmix at all spots so I cant imagine that pH make any difference.

I can see quite a difference on the raised beds, compared to the ones Ive digged into native soil.. I believe this is causing heatproblems and lack of water, even with my tarpaulins... And this is my Blackman's Law on the stunt-problem.
Look at the garden #2 further down this post and note that all the plants in this bed is generally smaller. They got less water, a little less nutes and they are in a totally raised bed thats been DRY from time to time during long hot weeks.

nice grow! grew af some years ago, diesel ryder, that was fun. Maybe do a few next seaso

Thanks!
I hope you log your 2014-grow! :)

------------------------------
Before I start; Sorry in advance for the shitty pictures!

So; Garden #2. The raised bed with Budwiders, AK47 and Autodieselmix.

Lets start with a pic that cover up whats going there.
Left 3 budwiders
Mid AK47
Right 2 autodieselmix.

picture.php

The Autodieselmix to the right is really messed up. The bigger part of the plant is almost done flowering and its half dead. :/
I believe is is due to lack of water.
As said; That bed is on top of dry native soil on top of a shitloads of rocks (= water rince right throu..)
And I did not have enough tarpaulins to keep em up, nor did I have the time to visit them every 3rd day.. as they probably needed.

Its hard to see, but the stem is is quite terrible shape...

picture.php

Next up is the AK47s in the middle.

They clearly lack nutes compared to the other garden.. My guess is once again lack of attention and love. (and water)
And here each plant has about 30l soil, compared to about 15 in the big garden.

picture.php

Closeup;

picture.php

and last pic of this post will be a closeup of a Budwider.
I really like the colour!
I guess my low nighttemps brings forth alot of color you usually wouldent see normally.. but that budwider sure is sexi!

picture.php

I find that the review of this garden.. is not "fair" for anyone looking into the strains. They got less attention then the other garden, aye... And the raised bed.. well.. ya know..

Next year ill keep it all in one spot I think.. Hopefully will it be a more even race.

Stay safe folks!

A more sheltered position will do you well, along with many large stones around the dirt garden to look like a grave, will give you much SOLAR heat advantage at night.
Positioning the plants to align with the sun at mid day will work better for you, and wood and brush to break the wind to keep the soil warm too.

Living so far north and in 2013, better to grow indoors, thanks for the test..I'm thinking Nordic Seeds Viking Tropical for my test

Still day 102

Still day 102

Heya!

@Vostok: Yeah, the amount of work I put into this is nowhere close to worth it compared to grow inside.
I will expand the garden in size til' next year but less strains, give each plant more space.. blah blah and so on.
Anyways: outdoors is a great way to find interesting plants/strains, get another bounce at the learning curve, be creative while solving problems and so on.

I believe you are somewhat wrong with your thoughts about shelter them plants.
First the shelter would reduce the wind, and I really need the airflow to keep the plants from catching mold.
A quick dryup during the morning is essential to reduce the hours while its wet..
But you have a good point about the soil-temp/stones.
I'll give it some thought until next year!

Big thanks for your input! (=

-----------------------------------------------

Ive had shitloads to do and that restricted my time browsing the web.

Anyway; Im here now.
I have shitloads of pics in the phone but I miss a cable to transfere them to the CPU. I have to sort that out this weekend..
I have some old news and old pics..

In the garden; I have harvested about 60% of the ladies
The stuff still remaining is some lower larf on alot of plants that will become some kind of brownies/cookies/edibles..
I have almost the whole scrog-net left to harvest, some AV NL, Haze and a few more plants..
And.. the GhazexC99xC99 that I seeded. It was the biggest plant among them, but also the slowest. This was probably a misstake to do.. I shoulda used a faster, smaller female. But It was so late into flower when I pollinated her and I didnt know how the weather would hold up for the next 2-3 weeks. I didnt want to risk overripe the plant and get mold instead of seeds on the almost done ones.. Then I rather used a slower female with some time to go..

I coulden't know.. but;
The weather is on my side! I tell you! Such a mild/warm autumn hasen't occured in many years.. hehehe...

I will cut down the rest of the garden this weekend. It seems like the cold and some rain finally will come.. The dryracks has been sufficient so far, and will sor sure be for the remaining harvest!
That idea with the homemade racks was another genious move! Mouahahaha!

Anyways; I have some pics from day 102;
Here we go with the Automazar!
She is among the slowest in the garden, and she sure has a funky colour.
Anyone know whats going on with the green bot/black top of the plant?
It it just low nighttemps that mess with the colour, or what? ;o

picture.php

picture.php

And here is the Dinafem Auto Haze;

picture.php

picture.php

Ive tried a smoke from the haze. It sure needs another few weeks cure but the stone was up, energetic, feelgood.
Taste of peppers, some undefined exotic fruit and sandpaper.. I hope the cure will remove the sandpaper-taste.. LOL!

Bear with me. More will come within time.

Stay safe,
Fem~
