about that gpw, it was my best yet, however for those who have not read all the posts about said grow you should be aware that is was about as inefficient as could be. I put two unproven clones in 2 weeks ahead of everything, so a1k was burning for 2 extra weeks illuminating only 2 plants, I then only loaded the rest of the top row and waited another 2 weeks before loading up the bottom row. I over vegged all of them under 800 watts of mh. and the final 2 weeks I ran both 1k and 600 bc the bottom row's tops were way up in the top row. so the whole thing probably ran 13 weeks. I'm sure there I is some formula that would take all those variables in to consideration and result in a lower gpw, but I'm counting it as my first with an asterisk. I now have those numbers to live up to every grow.

I got this in the mail today:
picture.php

I put the beer in there for size comparison. I looked at a nextgen "water cooled co2 generator" at the hydro w hore shop after bobble got got his marey tankless water heater that happens to generate co2( same exact unit as the next-gen with a different label and a much cheaper price tag) to see exactly what I needed to look for. this is what I ordered. it seems much bigger than the next gen I looked at. did I order the the wrong one. I'm looking for the specs, and we'll post them shortly.

I admire and truly appreciate your honesty. Asterik or not I am impressed and happy for ya.

I wonder how big of a tank you would need to recycle water for a "h20 cooled co2gen"/tankless water heater without to much of a heat load. Sometimes water is scarce for me...

I believe a small reservoir that the water is piled from and dumped back into will work for our purposes, bobble says his barely runs. when mine is set up I will let you know

hey, 0tis! save yourself a lot of time and money by hooking it up to a pressurized water source using a solenoid valve.

you can capture the water and use it for nute water.

when i first hooked up my hydrogen pro i went the pump route as shown in their sales video.

you will need a huge pump to fire that safety interlock switch.

i forget the exact figures now but the pump has to be able to produce a high psi figure at a certain flow volume to work right.

it is also recommended to run it 24/7.

i figured it would take an approx 9 amp pump to work right. that's another light.

they gloss over this in their video but go to their site and look at "troubleshooting".

it works flawlessly with a pressurized source. mine is approaching a year of continuous operation.

nice haul!

dude my water heater is significantly smaller, only puts out 38kbtu. You got the right thing though, no worries there.

Like D9 said, you can hard plumb the water heater and use a solenoid to control flow... Of course then you'll have to waste the water. I recirculate my water in a 32 gal trash can, and use a 1/4hp flojet pump. The 3/4" hose will cost about as much as the pump. Still it all adds up to less than the cost of a hydrogen burner...

I find that since the water heater hardly ever runs, the reservoir doesn't really heat up... and I use that water to feed my plants, so there's no wasted space either.

Any questions feel free to ask away... Happy to see you pulled the trigger Otis. You're gonna like the results.

Oh yeah, and I plan on building a greenhouse for next year, and using this water heater in conjunction with a radiator to make a heat exchanger to heat my greenhouse AND boost CO2. :)

I was planning on going th recirculation route, do you think I will need a bigger pump since its a bigger unit, and would it be the pump that I plug into the co2 controller? I didn't have time to read the manual yet, but I think it is activated by water pressure, so I'm guessing pump activates, w. heater kicks on, co2 set point is reached, pump shuts off.wateris drawn from the res heated, then flows back to res?

Yes, the pump plugs into the CO2 controller. I think the same pump should work fine. Water goes up to the heater, and immediately back to the res. We're talking about seconds of operation. Minutes maybe per light period.

Nice numbers otis. For support maybe install a net up on your roof and string up everything, this along with bamboos is great. We started doing this in our previous grow and it was a life saver.

Anyhow, keep up the good work.

beds are coming along nicely. I think this is about day 17. I may need to throw another trellis over them to hold em up when they start swelling

I'm not saying that there's a right or wrong way to hang your reflectors... but you're doing it wrong. lol Since you're not air-cooling, you should turn them so the lamps are parallel to each other. You'll get better overlapping light, less light thrown off to the sides that needs to be reflected back. Just my $0.02. Canopy looks full!

these ppk plants started blowing up. I flipped tonight and they are still going to come each other out without some serious training. I'm definitely lowering plant count in this area

damn, didn't realize until now how shitty those ppk p pics are, I'll snap some new ones. I will be supporting with bamboo stakes and twine attached to nails and other random things you find on basement ceilings/ floor joists.
