I just use one of the clear plastic covers that come on the carts.

hey Pete: Do these cartomizers last long? I'm just trying to figure out how much I should pack in it. Sure would suck to have it fail with a bunch of oil in it.
Do you fill the cartomizer, smoke the oil and then dispose or do you use a single cartomizer for more than a full fill?

Like lightbulbs, mileage differs (depends on the brand of the cart). I pack mine 0.3 at a time since theyre relatively easy to load.
You can always reclaim oil from a cart by flipping it and heating the side with a torch but gently or the reclaim will taste cooked.

I put 2-3 dabs (the size of the dabs use on my ti nail, i don't have a scale to weigh them) worth into a cart at a time. It gives me dozens of hits. I puff it down, then refill.
The carts last a while until the oil residue builds up at the bottom and they start to taste like burnt oil. I get at least a week of refilling it multiple times a day. The one i have on my pen now has been there at least 10 days and still tastes fresh.

I picked up one of the Glass Globe attachments. It hits pretty much like ti nail and dome. I've never gotten hits this big from my pen before. It's very effective. My only dislikes so far are that it has an exposed coil set up very much like the g pen, and it eats up oil much much quicker than a regular cart.
Really liking this globe.
It screws into the battery just like any other cart/atomizer/tank. The glass part slides off. You just put a dab on the nail, put the globe back on and hit it. Works pretty well.

The nails on these ones are ceramic. I thought it was plastic when i opened the package, but it's definitely not. I would have returned them had they been plastic.

I really like that one too. I've almost quit smoking and vaping buds since I got it. I'm thinking of turning most of my last harvest to wax / oil now.
I had a little trouble cleaning the heating element after the first few days. It gets more harsh when you let it get too dirty. Last weekend I tried removing the heating element and soaking it in 99% iso until it was clean. Now it's as good as new.
Hopefully it will always be that easy to clean.
Same here! I'm gonna dedicate at least half of next harvest to blast with butane.

I just unscrew the little nail piece and soak it in 99% iso until it's clean. It has been working so far. I tried using a pipe cleaner on my first attempt, but I ended up damaging the coil. Good thing the replacements are cheap.

Thanks for the link. How many nails have you gone through so far? I messed up my first one, but the others I've been using are still going strong. I wonder what the life expectancy is for these things.
Wow, i dont think i ever get that good of a return. I don't weigh, but i pack a 12" tube and use 2 cans. Get maybe 2 grams? back. I must be doing something wrong.
I just got the globe set up on Monday. I'm still using the same nail. I've used about a gram on it. No idea on how long they last. Seems like they'll hold up unless you mess with the coil/wick.

i get three 12' tubes and three cansotaiine .. 1/2 can per tube twice, then i toss the tubes.. nice thing is i only pack once
