Why would you keep pollen for 5 years for? Seems like the better way to go is make some f2's and store the seed. Maybe I'm trippin....

Selective breeding. If you have a great female would you just keep some seeds of her? Most of the time you would take clones to keep that strong pheno around same thing goes for males keeps the pollen from the strongest males.

Very true, I guess I was thinking you could find a similar pheno in a handful of beans. I know this is what I do when I like a strain but want to move on. I just make a ton of f2's and throw them in the vault. Thanks GreenHands13.

Got a question for everybody. I have been lacking on pruning the interior fluff in my plants. I normally like to do this about 2 weeks before flowering is induced. That way any stress is gone come stretch time.

Question is, does anybody think it's too late to do a fairly heavy pruning of the fluff on the inside and bottom of the plants? My worries are triggering stress, and even worse, hermi's.

@Organicbuds - In my experience plants don't like to be pruned after flowering is triggered. I tried it with a bunch of GDPs and it really hurt the yield + I got nanners.

prob will most likely set your harvest back a couple weeks if any..depends on how tough you go....imo now is a good time for some leafing , but i would try and stay away from taking off any branches fwiw

Depends on the strain I guess. I grew a Jack Herer cross indoors for a few years and nothing I did caused it to throw nanners. In fact at week 2 of flowering I was taught to strip the plants clean except for like 5-7 growing tips. They would explode through the rest of flowering. If the plants were not pruned this way I'd end up with a flarfy mess and would go from the easiest trim ever to the worst trim ever. I had a big 24 hour a day light leak after the wet 2 x 4's dried out and pulled away from a corner in the room and still no nanners. That pruning did not hurt yields in fact helped it and especially helped the quality of the finished buds regarding size, shape and density.

Yet normally you don't want to go heavy with pruning/cleaning up once you get into flower. The plant is already under enough stress.

Furry, things are more clear here today than they have been all week, I'm glad to get some fresh clean air; Though it doesnt look like the smoke will be gone for long I am in central Trinity co and a couple of the fires just keep getting bigger.

FWIW I'm going to trim most of the inner leaf...I must 'cause it's been raining like crazy the last few days...they need a lot more air flow in the centers...of course I'll wait until I have a sunny day ahead to trim. Hope you guys stay safe with the fires near!!

Thanx for the respsonses I usually just keep it in the freezer but I had someone tell me pollen degrades faster in the freezer. Either way it works so I wont try to fix something thats not broken
Here is how I do it:

Lock-Lock boxes with seals. Vials with seals. A few grains of rice in each vial. A dessicant block in each box.

The pollen goes into the fridge for a day, then into the lock lock and into the freezer.

I performed 101 crosses last year. I think about 90+ took
