Sounds like some real Jason Bourne type stuff. Well, at least you didn't end up getting ass raped in some third world country prison. Just got ass raped when you got back home... fwiw im sorry you had to go through that. No wonder you became an expat.
But thank you for all the terrible things you had to endure in service to our country. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it.

Thanks for the mj pics, how's she holding up? just waiting out the rain as well?
The bags and containers, is that the cargo hold? Do you sleep there also?
Is that one of your diesels? I thought this boat had two...

Thats funny cause a friend keeps telling me I need to see those movies,,I'm not much of a movie TV guy, and it seems like I end up seeing movies years after theyve been out.
A friend of mine is a DC homicide detective,, he gets all bent out of shape when his wife or kids are watching "Law and Order" claims if he could solve cases in just a few days "like on TV" he could have the city cleaned up in no time, but it never seems to work out that way, like during the DC sniper murders in the early 2000s,, he worked 24-7 for weeks and never even got close,, not even a sniff.
My job unfolded kinda the same,,we knew what we were supposed to do,,we ran scenarios over and over, even had small towns built to resemble target areas,,but once youve left a perfectly good airplane and hit the ground,,,80% has changed or non existence.

Yea that one of the diesels, lemme see if i got a shot of the other, that foto area is the "cockpit" with my pack coffee cup and lil tupperware of weed, that where i drive the boat and wait for the fish yo hit, for sleep we hang hammocks from the masts under a tarp,I'll get some better fotos of the MJ up for ya soon.

You might like the Bourne movies, kind of a like a gritty James Bond movie, still ridiculous though (knocking guys out with one punch, taking out multiple armed attackers using only bare hands, etc) but entertaining. The govt assassins in Bourne tend to work alone, not in teams, so more a super spy movie than a special ops one.

No wonder youre well-suited to your current life; youre used to dealing with the unknown/improvising on the fly. "Oh, this is just like what we trained for, only the exact opposite..."

Coffee and weed, the breakfast of champions, the only two drugs you need. I think they call that a hippie speedball...

Hagiss, I dont know how they missed all that hash strapped under your undies, but maybe you got away with one there. I wouldnt tempt fate again...

A question if you don't mind. Are the engines both pushing the same direction or is one for one end and the other for the other end? Can you use both at the same time or do they push in opposite directions? Like the early , I think its shunting type sail pram? not sure of the terminology but instead of a "tac", they change the direction of the sail and swap ends forward.
Clear as mud huh. I hope you get what I'm talking about and can enlighten us more about your wonderful boat.

Both push in the same direction and get run at the same time when crossing open water or I just wanna do some "redneckin" in the shallows.
I'll run one 16HP for trolling and both for fast trolling down in the deep,, the only bitch is theres no way to take the props out of gear when theres a fish on,,i have to shut it down and hate doing that,,most of the time when a fish is on I'll come to a slow crawl and put her in a wide circle trying to keep the fish at the back of the boat,,, if the fish wants to run I still got the engine running and can give chase,,, it's just a real pain getting to the front of the boat quickly, and i have to let all the drag off the reel to cross over all the lines.
Got new gear showing up any week now,, getting ready for the big Spanish to show back up,,twice a year they come past here thick as bugs on a bumper,, best I've done so far is 15 kilos,,,I'm looking to top that by five more.

Maybe next time if they see the bags under his kilt hagiss can say theyre his colostomy bags. then they really wont want to look.

Is that spanish mackerel that comes by twice a year? i love mackerel, very meaty, very flavorful, very smelly when cooking.

do you have any concern with mercury levels when eating so much fish?

Is your new equipment going to make it easier to move around on the boat?

There were more,,,,lots more ,dam near my entire class, cept for a hand full of "Dikshiners",2 of which got ripped by their own men in 05 and 06,,, one we all saw coming like a freight train in a dark tunnel the other was a bit of a surprise, but word had it he went all "SF" with his men and was getting kids hurt,,, I didnt know either well at all......we ruled the roust in the 80s early 90s,mainly during the Reagan administration,,the first bush administration saw alot of good men and women left in the cold,,,then slick willy (and his ole lady) cut the strings and let folks get back to work... Now,, most are older than dust or getting there and living in out of the way places such as myself,,, working for private firms, or dead.

Wass up shipmates,, been a minute i know and neglecting the thread a bit ,,,but im good with Karma now and got things to do.
Dam,,,this is the first dry morning in weeks,, the air is full of sounds of everyone(cept my ass) washing cloths,,,,the smell of laundry soap is thick in the air,,,so heres a passage for all the lady shipmates to read..

Theres a few things of modern convenience we'll never have or even have uses for ,,but during certain times of the year I know my wife wouldnt mind having a washer and a dryer.

When it starts raining on a Saturday in july and dosent stop until a Tuesday "IN SEPT" a pile of dirty cloths starts to build up,,, and washing um can and is done but getting um dry before they get moldy is a bitch,,so the only way to not have to listen to me bitch and moan about my shirts smelling moldy is to wait for the right time,,,timing and which items will get washed fast to get maximum hang time to dry.
Right now my wife, 3 of her sisters, her mom, and two other women from the ville are around the corner with a production line of Large basins,,starting with a soak the a washing basin, then two rinse basins then hand wrung and put right on line,So with the help Sabuya should have the laundry Mt excavated in no time, and a few good dry hours is all she needs its not like we wear jeans and a lot of heavy clothing.

I was cleaning wind blown shit from under the hut this morning and spotted this growing and had to share,,had all the girls over to eyeball it and get to giggling, i asked if it was "editable" and got more giggling and some head shaking as they went back to washing cloths..

Ello Haggy,Nice bud porn,,,,naw The grapes we got from a big private ship flying a Japanese flag,,they were looking for fresh water and wanting some shallow waters to anchor in for a few days, got some apples too but they sucked,, no flavor.

Most guys dream big when it comes to Lotto,,not my man hagiss,,,nope,, a few maidens taking shifts peeling and "fluffing up" yer red seeds, popping um in yer mouth by the hand full as you indiscriminately spit the seeds into a pile on the floor,,,but hey ,,,you hit the lotto,,,so that means you"ll have some other fair haired beauty with a broom,,, and god elp er little behind she misses just one seed..

For the most part im the loner stoner(but never lonely) theres a few guys ive smoked with here but they live on the other side and one lives way the hell in the mountains, and so far i got the only "smoke-able" crop going, and this ones gonna be the last until next April,,thats April 2014:yoinks:
Got word a few weeks a UNESCO team is scheduled to arrive any time between the last week of Oct first week Of Nov and will stay until March 2014, the last thing I need is them finding a sweet smelling Cannabis crop,it could take a turn for the worse, so we"ll avoid all that.
I've got a good stash built up(its never enough) so I should be able to keep my head right,,pisses me off I gotta start all over again.

Religion is a different word for it haggs, to the native people everything has a spirit,,,everything,,,spirit of the sand ,,the sea,, the trees, moon, stars, sun,,,everything and these spirits can be called and asked for help, information, or just to be spoken to, my wife put it best when we first got here years ago,,,"You can laugh,,just don't let um catch you laughing"
I don't make fun of it,,not in the slightest bit, in fact I embrace it and "make it mine" sorta speak.

And I thought the rainy season in Fla. was long. I know the wife would lose her mind without our washer & dryer.

Durning the rainy season it dont,,, if i dont have um cut down and drying before the endless rains get here i'll lose it all to mold in just a few days,, thats the biggest reason i grow in containers and all I need is 20-30 more days of dry, Ive got it timed pretty good now,,but ya shoulda seen me crying like a lil bich on my first grow here,,,it was all in the ground that id doctored up good and had 15 footers ( a few not all of um ) most were 6-8 feet.
I didnt know the weather pattern very well then and I got started late,,way late,,about the time everyone started putting off bud the rains started,,,let up a little bit,,,then back again, leaving me to watch 3 patches drown,,it was sad man ,,,sad..
MY main system is to have seedlings or clones going at all times so when the rains stop( and when they sop its abrupt) i have good size plants pruned and trimmed ready to hit the sunshine,,more importantly the Thai I grow can be manipulated with tarps to cut the light period and get um budding quicker,,that move is what saves me and gives off some sweet fluffy buds I call "Fruity Pebbles"

Fishing times a comin, my new gear should be arriving in a few more weeks and I sent a drawing to a welding shop a few day or so boat ride from here to have some steel "clamp on" rod holders made to strap on to the outriggers of the MaryJane so when that monster muther (100kilo Blue Marlin be nice eh ?) pulls my line I wont lose everything to the deep.

We have a fungi in the uk & I think Europe just like that one , it`s common name is stinkhorn !

Thats it ??? no other ,,,,ahhhh,,,,,comments ???
Is it just me then ??? do I need new glasses ???
Ah,, does It "resemble" anything to you ???

Heres 2 fotos of it about a hour after the first ,,,,and the last foto is about 3 hours after the first..

I`m far too polite to say what it looks like but the latin name used to identify all those TYPE of fungi worldwide is PHALLACAE . I have a funny feeling the clues in the name .

In the UK the stem only is edible but I`m not sure what one you have there , the only difference is your bell-end is brown where the UK one is nearer black .
