Tip on measuring MO--weigh it instead of using a spoon to "measure it".
This would be a good chart to have. Compile a weight chart of products per manufacturer.

So I can't find some good molasses anywhere.
Can I use Mascavated sugar? The brownest one I can find?
Cheerz
Sweet man, you get some monster plants. . . I envy that possibility! Especially doing it legally. Lucky you!
I'm in Europe, Lat 39º. I can only grow in my balcony, totally illegally ahah unfortunatly.
It's only my second grow with autos!
Yeah man, I heard about Charlotte's Web, that's awesome! Awesome history behind it!
You think DEA will ever change the estatus of weed in a near future?
I wanna visit cali for its rep on weed, surfable beaches and all around life style they portrait.
wooo....lost me at weekend warriors 2k+ , lol
The only thing stopping most resevoirs becomeing a mouldy disaster is the lack of sugars for microbes to feed on , see no positive reason for adding them in molasses to any liquid system.
Molasses works very well in soil or compost and is cheap enougth in bulk from the right source to use extensively in the garden , but feel the risk of moulds outweighs any possible benefit in hydro.
Absolutely agreed. It blows me away to hear about sugars in a res
Ever owned a swimming pool? Light and Heat is your enemy, not a little sugar. Anyway, that green stuff gets fairly swampy if you dont circulate and and bleach the water. It`s hard to keep the light out when the pool is 20,000gal, in direct sun, and at 90f. lol
Light and Heat is your enemy in a hydro setup. Make sure your coco drains well or it will get soggy and with sugar + heat = bad combo.
It just makes me nervous to think about adding something like this without having an integrated bacterial mechanism to process it. I'm picturing those individuals in the past who have said "I can run full organic in a recirculating system with rockwool, no problem, watch me!"
Dude!! i`ll watch. Integrated bacterial mechanism within a recirculating system is difficult as hell.. Smart as hell post, brother! Usually with oxygen and 75f+ temps, the bacteria will convert the sugars into vinegar long before the plant can use it. If you can chill the water, it will prevent the bacteria from multiplying quickly. I do not suggest molasses on a DWC / Aero hydro set-up, if you have mastered it, BRAVO!
ps, I would try starting with 20ml per 10 gallons to keep it on the safe side.
