Dr. Sanjay Gupta changes his tune

Whatever his motives, it's good to see a prominent doctor and journalist publicly apologize and change his position on marijuana. Mainstream America will see his new pro-weed documentary on CNN. He's in a position to change a lot of minds about the issue. The more people we have on our side, the closer we get to legalization.

Agreed. Bashing him makes no sense. Everybody is wrong sometimes, so when anybody gives me a Man-up, the answer is to accept that graciously, take them at their word.

Thank you, Sanjay Gupta.

Yep. Who fucking cares if he is only doing it for the money? Who really fucking cares? Why trash the guy? This is good news, case closed. Everyone does everything for the money, it's nothing new. The difference is, this time it benefits you, you dummies. :bashhead:

Thank you Dr. Gupta! Now please spread the word! Tell your buddy Dr. Drew to take up the cause, too. Let this spread. Fuck the past. Atone for your sins by helping us to spread the truth, that the DEA has lied to Americans for over 60 years now... that the AMA has been complicit all along by not questioning anything before now.

Everyone, please share this revelation with all your brainwashed family members, post a link to Facebook pages, whatever you gotta do. This guy is like mainstream America's personal family practitioner, and everyone of these people loves him, and will change their own minds along with him when they find out.

This is huge!

I do hope he starts doing interviews about this all over the country or at least a few televised interviews on the subject. Perhaps it will even help some of those who will not see as well as those who cannot:thank you:

It's all over the internet and cnn is pre-promoting it during commercials. I think it's a potential game-changer. Did you know that Dr Gupta was asked by Obama to be surgeon general? ( he declined ) Could this be the game-changer?

I don't want to speculate necessarily:) and won't get political but I think this is something that might be worth mentioning and that this president could suddenly appear in breaking news and be shown with a dozen ( or a hundred dozen ) doctors who all support mmj. He could sign an executive order tomorrow changing the class and that would change everything.

He could look right at the reporters and truthfully state, he's also been advised on this subject, that the evidence is indisputable and if he makes a mistake you can call him the worst president ever.

It would be a game changer not just in the us but world-wide in my opinion. Will this lead here before his term is over especially now with the type of medical backing that that particular team subscribes to?

It would be huge.

Off the meter huge.

I really believe this is Obama's first step in turning the tide. Get "America's Doctor" to come on board and watch the chips fall.

They are buddies after all.

How bout that conspiracy???

While this is a step in the right direction, I have a hard time believing the Fed will EVER decriminalize pot. Most likely they will just be quiet about it and not really enforce it................until there is someone they want to fuck with and then they can use it how they want.
There are still many laws on the books that don't usually get enforced.

I'm more optimistic. A majority of the American public now supports full legalization. The vast majority supports legalization for medical use. Every year more people change their minds about the issue. As more people get educated about the subject, they will demand at least medical legalization. That's the first step to legalizing it for all adults.

Sometimes it takes politicians a while to catch up to public opinion, but it's bound to happen. I expect some sort of medical legalization at the federal level in the next few years. No more schedule 1 bullshit. Federal legalization for all adults should happen in the next 10 years, possibly sooner.

He really is being misled by them as well, but he still hasn't realized it.

to growers it seems obvious that he is being misled, but that is because most growers are actually much more educated on the subject. We know what the real facts are from experience and

He's a paid liar.

What makes you think this tune is any better? He's just singing a song you'd like to hear.

I think smoking cannabis is dangerous, not immediately, but eventually. Even so... I do it anyway.

Smoking ANYTHING is dangerous for obvious reasons, but you don't have to smoke it. Cannabis its self is not a harmful substance when used in a safe and reasonable manner that does not damage the lungs from the harmful byproducts of combustion :good:

He's a dickhead. But he knows opinion is changing and want to be seen as beeing in the front of things, that's why he makes it into a documentary to show.
He will introduce nothing new, just his own admitted earlier sloppy work of reviewing facts. And buying into the official opinion.
But on the upside it might bring a lot of attention to the goodness on cannabiss

I highly disagree with that, 100%.

why? simple, because these gangs of "well educated" individuals, are unable of true scientific thinking, and instead, rely on the actual parroting of mere opinions.

this is a very sick fact in many professional fields, specially coming from the medical field, where the treatment of our physical health is of such delicate and important nature.

Gupta has simply showed himself to be nothing more than a parrot, who parroted his way out of school and into business, with no real ability of true discernment, shame on him.

If Sanjay is willing to change his opinion on Cannabis, and MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT on national TV, then I'm willing to change my opinion of him, which was pretty low, as I said before.

Also, I remember vividly Dr. Gupta going to places like Haiti and doing surgery in the field to help save lives. So he's not just a parrot, but a real doc!

It's very difficult when you work for an outfit like CNN to say whatever you please. There are many editors and special interests (like advertisers) they have to consider. And when you watch CNN you find that they sell a LOT of drugs from Big Pharma on that station. So you know who has been preventing the truth from coming out.

You might read into this that Big Pharma and Big Tobacco are nearly ready to go all out selling cannabis for medicine and recreation... Whether that's a good or bad thing is another issue for another thread...

And I just saw him hyping his show on Sunday, and he was focusing on the HARM REDUCTION (which I mentioned earlier) specifically saying that cannabis is far less harmful than things like Oxycontin or tobacco and alcohol. So he's finally on the same page as us! :)

I doubt it, he will not support any form of recreational or entheogenic use, for example.

his stance will simply be a support of medical cannabis in very restricted terms; only for the terminally ill and other conditions with no cure.

doubt he'll support medical cannabis for glaucoma, nerve damage or arthritis, for example, citing the more regular treatments of such as better options.

I can see it from a mile away.

if he indeed ends up supporting fully all uses of cannabis across all the spectrum of uses, then I'll edit my posts.
