CBD crew reliable, stable?

What strain are you speaking of here?

I caution that strain names should not be correlated to CBD level, not even relative CBD level. For example, there are numerous posts about TBB x OGK being a high CBD cross. One might then logic that one can buy TBB from DJ Short and cross it with a likely authentic OG Kush clone. The result would be something interesting but it would not likely contain much CBD.

Without getting into mutations or epigenetics of which I know too little of, elementary Mendelian genetics tell us that chemical phenotypes or chemotypes is what matters, which is more specific than varietal or 'strain'.

If there are any trained geneticists here, what I would like to know is how we get 2:1, 1:2, 3:1, 1:3 ratios. I suspect tandem repeats, but am open to the possibility that simple codominance is not all there is to the CBD/THC ratio, that the trait is polyallelic and numbers approximately 1:2:1 are being misinterpreted. I'm not versed enough to say for sure, but can say 2:1 CBD:THC F1's do not ever seem to produce 3:1 or 1:3 or 1:2 even, but only all CBD or all THC or the 2:1 in ratios of approximately 1:2:1. The simple Bd/Bd, Bd/Bt, Bt/Bt explanation put forth by GW/Bayer does not explain the other non-1:1 ratios that seem to be whole number fractions, and not a continuum.

I spoke with a Tester for CBD crews gear on the weekend, I asked his opinion on it, with out hesitation he said "It was the best", Then he gave me some "Y" Griega, What an awesome Sativa... Truly one of the best I have ever had.

I picked up a Harlequin clone a few weeks ago at Harborside. I plan on flowering it sometime this year. I've never tried a high CBD strain, but I'm interested in the medicinal properties. It would be nice to have a strain that works well for pain (if I ever need it) without getting me too high to do my job effectively. I'm interested in the cancer fighting properties too, just in case I or someone close to me needs it.

Keeping a high CBD mother plant just seems like a good idea for the long term. I have other strains when I want something more spiritual or recreational.

I lost my mother plants when I moved cross country a few years ago. I've been looking for new ones since then. Right now a C99 F2 from Gypsy Nirvana is my favorite. It was the best female out of 2 packs of seeds I grew in 2011. I also have a White Rhino for my strong indica keeper. I'm currently nearing harvest with 15 new females (Sensi Star, Mystic Gem, and a few bag seeds my gf had been saving). Hopefully I'll find a keeper or two out of that group.

I also picked up some other clones that weekend at Harborside. Chem 91, Sour Diesel, and Headband. This was my first time buying clones at a dispensary. I'm hoping they're the real deal and they live up to the hype. I'll probably flower clones of those later this year.

Very Nice, more specifically what would have been your spiritual choice from what you used to have? and also the recreational?.

I am exploring some cannabinoids for there complexity as I learn about different profiles.

Sativas and sativa leaning hybrids would be my first choice for spiritual and recreational use. C99 is my favorite, but there are lots of other great ones too. Getting high and walking through the woods, listening to music, or meditating leads to a more spiritual experience for me. Getting high with the same plant and watching Half Baked or playing a video game - recreational. C99, Kali Mist, Haze, AK99, and Sweet Cindy (if you find the right plant) can be good for that.

Heavier indicas are good for relaxing after work on a Friday night, stress relief, insomnia, and pain relief in general. I used them more than opiates after a couple of painful surgeries last year. White Rhino, White Widow, Northern Lights, Twilight (only one select plant), K2, and a few others were good for that. I liked Girl Scout Cookies for that too, but only a couple grams my girlfriend got from a dispensary. That's on my to do list for some future grow.

Sweet Tooth #3 was one of my favorites too. If you find the right plant (usually one or two out of a pack), you get an uplifting "happy" feeling that's just different from anything else I've tried. It makes hanging out with friends and watching a stoner comedy seems like the most fun thing in the world. I tried growing a pack of 5 seeds last year, but only one germinated and it was a male. I didn't save it since I have a limited grow space at the place I'm living now.

WOW!!

Thank you so much for your valuable experience. Very much appreciated.

It seems the more I grow and the more I follow what strains people use to make a cross, It always seems to comeback C99, or Kali Haze.

I knew you were gonna tell me that!

Peace

wow, I could have written this myself! I love C99 as well, I have not encountered a better short-flowering haze cross that can touch it for sativa high and also pain relief. Sensi Seeds still charges a fortune for Jack Herer, C99's ancestor, I'm not surprised.

I actually grew out an original Brothers Grimm C99 pack, after I finally lost my favorite clone, some years later, I ordered the Gypsy Nirvana knockoff and found it to be an excellent match to the original C99. It has a very uplifting/happy/energetic high to it that I just don't get from strains like AK47, NL/Haze, etc.

IMO there few breeders around like Bros. Grimm anymore. They were the best I've tried. Their strains are still around because they did a good job at making them true-breeding. I also still have their NL#5 line which is awesome. Their Apollo 13 was great but unfortunately I failed to make seeds. Their F1's tended to have excellent calyx-to-leaf ratio, I would definitely recommend trying one of their descendant strains from Gypsy or also TGA offers many strains that originated w/ Bros. Grimm stuff.

C99 during the day and then NL, Sensi Star, Blueberry indicas at night are what I use for chronic arthritis pain. Now I have added Cannatonic for the CBD aspect I feel like I'm getting significantly improved anti-inflammatory effect, I have been able to reduce my use of nasty prescription meds even further.

I have

I have

I have 14 female CBD-2 testers in flower right now. They are at about 15 days in
So far they have very vigorous and healthy plants. Now that they are in flower, you can see there is a good mix of Sativa Dominate and Indica Dominate pheno's in the mix......CBD-2 is a blind test with unknown genetics or lineage. Shanti will soon release the info. They are some new CBD strains for the CBDCrew......testing now are: CBD-1 - CBD-2 - CBD-3 .....you may see the results scattered throughout the MNS site
I am pleased with my CBD-2 testers.....they are very healthy and jumped right up out of the seed hulls and hit the dirt running. Right now they are very equal across the board with height in the flower room. I have done no training to these plants. I vegged them until they showed sex. I transplanted them. I then cut it off above the fifth node and cut off the first two sets of lower branches so we only have 3 tiers of node growth coming off the plant.
Check the pics. I update this grow weekly. Hope you stop by. I hope this helps.
Respects,
W1:tiphat:

PS......I have made it so you do not have to sign in or register to see the pictures on my thread.

I missed this a couple weeks ago. I grew out a pack (just a 5 pack) of the original Brothers Grimm C99 in my first grow with a named strain. It has been my favorite ever since. I got 4 females out of that pack, and they were all some of the best I've ever had. I didn't learn how to take clones until after that grow.

Since then I've grown F2s from Joey Weed and Gypsy Nirvana. They weren't as uniform, but I found some in each grow that were as good as the originals. I kept a clone from the Gypsy Nirvana grow that finishes in 49 days. Medium yielder, but absolute top quality in terms of potency and high.

I just finished my first harvest with Sensi Star. It's definitely a keeper too.

I would say yes, absolutely. I can feel the CBD reducing the edgy anxious feeling I get from some sativa stains. I don't think it's possible to feel anxious when properly dosed w/ CBD.

hello fellows, just to share a little video about CBD strains available to the growers, a lot of so called breeders have jumped on the band wagon in advertising CBD strains without really testing them and are frauders toward the growers in search of real CBD strains for medical reason.
the video show an interesting home made spray with CBD skunk haze 1:1 strain and this spray cost far less than Sativex to produce so its really worth to consider, a generic drug :)biggrin:) of sativex in some way.

below here is the analysis report of skunk haze by CBD crew, all analysis of their strains are available at their site
