The Wonderwall w/ bonus aero tree DIY

I love how you keep track of how much time you spend working on the plants, you are very efficient!

:thank you: soursmoker.. efficiency can sometimes be even more important than final numbers...

the WW requires the least amount of time to maintain of anything I have ever used... my old systems were a close second.. they are easy too and requires similar work... (their reservoirs only take about 10 min to change and also has shutoff valve so it drains itself... I make nutes while rez is emptying)... but there are eight individual systems and 8x10=80 which is more time than it would take to change both WW rezs... also instead of having to take one larger batch of around 80 clones, I would have to take about 30 clones every week...

my old systems require smaller but more frequent chores and ultimately more work, making it not too practical for remote growing... however it has provided me with plenty of practice.. (you become good at taking clones when u take them every week)... which has made the WW so much easier for me to use and dial

wanted to snap a shot of my mother before I start taking my first set of clones from her...

should be able to take a lot of clones from her...

and here are the batch of clones before being transplanted to veg... 100% success....

are there still people hating on aero cloners..?? :)

I gonna take another batch of clones tonight or tomorrow and that will be my next WW round...

that's all there is to report.. thanks :tiphat:

I have edited post #86 to show the growth of the aero mother.... have a look... :ying::ying:

thanks for the kind words man..!! everything in my grow right now is looking great, and I am glad I am just able to keep them happy through the summer..

sure I can give you a root shot, haven't looked at them myself in a while...

ehhh that's a decent size root mass but seems that the roots are slightly tan in some places, but there is quite a bit of healthy roots also.. that is probably just attributed to summer heat...a little discoloration is passable even normal... fortunately, just like above ground growth, new growth will be healthy once things turn around... and it is looking great up top..!!!

looks like the orange screen wasn't much help either lol all the roots seem to encircle at the bottom... I will have to use something finer next time if I want to accomplish what I am trying to do...

you'll have to teach me how to do the 3d pics.. that's so awesome !!

Isn't it nice once you have everything down to a simple repeatable routine?

:respect: Gmax, definitely one of the few who gets it.......

Thanks for the cloning tip, GMAX... stem scrapping along with splitting sounds like it will work.

5lbs with that setup u got.

Thanks D !! its been a long road but I have finally seemed to have reached grow room nirvana.... minimal work, maximum results..!!!!

thanks for all your help along the way bro !!

No problem man !! try it, that trick works...! it essentially gives the clone more surface area to root, and the first nubs always form along the split.. and it doesn't have to be strictly for an aero cloner... scrape the stem and split it, and stick it in the medium of your choice ( Jiffy pucks, rockwool, Dixie cup w/ soil) when I do the splitting of the stem, I like to take the razor and 'open' the cut up so it looks like a upside down "Y" underneath... but you can split the stem but still keep it straight like "l" so it can fit through the hole in your medium...

I just prefer the aero cloner, even if I were to switch to soil... it is super easy, I open the valve and drain the old solution... take all my neoprene and throw it in the washer w/ a little bleach.. after it is done I put the pucks back in their holes.... fill the cloner with 10 gal nutes... 5ml Roots Excel, 15ml SM90, 10ml pH down (only had to start doing the pH once I switched from RO water.. 10ml=perfect pH everytime for me)... then I put the lid back on plug it in and take my clones....

I have been putting out 95+% rooting success EVERYTIME for about a year now....

one of the biggest steps that got me there was switching to a pH dropper set instead of using a pen (inaccurate) to check my cloning solution pH...

thanks for the kind words HOVAH... 5lbs is definitely possible for me with the right strain... I am already getting about 4lbs with a very low yielding strain.. ! I am gonna be ordering quite a few seeds over this next year, so I may get there soon...

stay tuned !!

time for another update..

I haven't been in the flowering room these last few days to mess with either WW... I have been a little busy in veg, transplanting the clones to veg that I will use to fill my now empty old flower room and taking another batch so I can have the WW flipped with a new crop shortly after harvest.. I was able to get 43 clones of my aero mom so in a few weeks I can toss or flower out my old mom in the waterfarm...

anyways I meant to snap pics this morning but I was busy so here are some pics....

this crop still has ten days left until harvest... they will do some noticeable swelling until then.. the last ten days bud growth is explosive... I will do the final trim in a few days, then I just sit back and wait for harvest..!

continued...

G

GMax

....and my other WW crop has filled in the screen pretty nice as well....

stretch is pretty much over for this one...I already did one defoliation five days ago, and I will be doing another round of trims in a few days, to both WWs... also need to change her rez as I meant to do that the other day... I need to grab some more paper clips so I can tie back and spread the buds a little better... bout to be time for cruise control with this crop as well, I am loving life right now :)

that's it for now thanks ....:tiphat:

:headbange:headbange the WONDERWALL IS ROCKIN!! its SB golf ball nugs all around, top to bottom., round 2 is looking 'healthy',......ON to the next one!!

NICE!!!!

thanks Purple Turtle :tiphat:

this crop looks like it should be a surprisingly good yielder even in the summer.. I removed more sucker branches this round than ever before, so hopefully the buds will be more "deliberate" and very big as a result.... I am pretty much finished with that round, I have one more final defoliation to do to it, and while I am doing that I am gonna drop the draining pump into the rez and empty out 70-80% of the nutes and fill it back up with plain water to help with the flush...

then it is on to the next... I just got back from the hydro store where I picked up more calmag and did a rez change to it...

50-60gal= 50ml Calmag..150ml Micro..225ml Bloom.. 50ml Silica Blast.. 150ml SM-90

I know you probably didnt mean it literally, but the "round 2" that you are speaking of is actually my 6th WW crop I believe... seems like yesterday..:ying:

thanks again PT..!!

DO you go the entire last 2 weeks with low ppms?or on the last 3 or 4 days, plain water??
Know i WAS referring to round "2" of this WONDERWALL ,yeah keep them going ,ive been learning ALOT!!..seems like clockwork to you!!

thanks for the kind words PT.. it has become like clockwork, and usually only one small-medium job a day... but when I do it remotely though, I have to cram those chores into 1-3 day a week... right now I have a few day vacation from the grow where there is nothing that needs to be done in any room :) the clones are rooting.. my plants are vegging.. and no rez need changed...

but after that I will need to clean out a couple of my old systems, then make nutes for them, and transplant the clones to flower.. all that can be done in just couple hours and even spread over a few days.... then I can take a whole week off from my old flower room :woohoo:.... like Mr. D said, a simple repeatable routine, at least until I get some new strains

as for your question, I will do a last rez change on day 27-28.. I will give them 'full strength' (what I consider full strength) and then I just let it dwindle until 5-7 days before harvest and then I drain most of the nutes and refill with plain water to dilute the nutes... I don't have to do this step though, I can just dwindle all the way to harvest and it be fine too.. but I like to give them a few days plain water to be safe....

I have found that plants that aren't as well flushed, aren't as finished looking as they should be.. if I were to do 2 crops of SB and one of them I started flushing 2wks before harvest or whatever... and the other I just kept changing rez every week... come harvest time, the flushed one would look way more ready...

thanks again..! I am glad you are enjoying and learning a thing or two.. lovin your grow as well :tiphat:

G

GMax

so you basically defol thur out your grow and this removal of access leafs increases your yeild?

yeah... after stretch I do the first one on day 16-20 (a longer flowering strain may stretch longer).. then again every week or so or when needed throughout flowering until harvest..

but i would consider this a SCROG grow which requires heavy leaf removal.. just something to consider..

YO Gmax, Love the show dawgggg!

Crazy how successful you have been with the aerocloner!! I tried and tried to make one a permanent member of my op but had nothing but problems. After a week my clones would yellow. After two weeks they would wilt and just look shitty but about 50% of them would pop some tiny roots. By 21 days they would have enough tiny roots to transplant and slowly nurse them back to health. It was taking me 10 weeks to grow a clone to a foot tall. Decided to give cloning in coco a try and had 95% success full rooted clones in 6-7 days with a seed mat. Crazy how people can be so successful in different ways. Our thumbs are just different shades of green!!!

Anyways, Love what you got going on. That shit is prostyle to the max. Hope big harveys are in your future man, keep it up and stay safe!

sounds like you were having some issues with bacteria...I have had it myself.. strong clones will root through it but very shitty... were the undersides of the wilting clones mushy ?? if so then it definitely bacteria... if you ever use it again you should run bleach through it over night, and then drain and run regular water, and then wash all your neoprene in the washer w/ bleach, then start using solution and taking clones...

what solution were you using, if any ?
maybe check your water source as well...

its a good idea to use sm90 hydrogaurd or a few drops of bleach.. etc

if you are having success then don't fix what's not broken.. different shades of green lol... I have actually had success every way I tried to clone, but I run a strict aero setup all the way through flower so I could only use aero or bubbler...nothing with media or soil, cause it would have to be washed off before I put it in my system....

thanks for the kid words bro..!!! I am hoping to pull a decent harvest too.. :)

:thank you:

I say yas needta put clone only Chem D in them bitches and let em blow the fuck up....but.....

I`m a greedy old fart......Just wanted ta stop in and show respect for a job well done....

Good job of creating that sideways canopy , and once yas find a strain that`ll exploit those vertical bulbs and produce colas stuck out almost to the bulbs as well as golfballs , then THAT`S when the end result will turn some folks heads....

Those SB`s still have a lotta fans with stems that could be gone to improve late swellage , as well as burnt tip syndrome from too high an e/c/ppm solution , but all in all you`ve got this particular strain dialed as far as canopy coverage by end of stretch.......now....

If the other pic`s are near end of stretch , where`s initial budset......I mean....I don`t see any nodes spittin pistils......anyways......not fuckin with yas Bro , just tryin ta help move yas on up the ladder with some genetics more conducive to sideways blastin lumens.....and lastly....

Gladta see yas gently droppin ppm`s toward end of cycle instead of just flushin with plain water last couple weeks that`s so critical to swellage , and with the fastest hydro setup like aero , if yas just started toppin off and dwindling down juice till the fans left only juttin out the colas start to "fade" off right before finish , you`ll get the most weight for each and every run from now on......

My ppm`s were in the high 100`s -low 200`s come Harvey , and proper slow dry and cure took care of the rest by evaporation/dehumidification and chlorophyll degradation for top shelf shit every run FTW.....anyways....

Keep dialin my buddy......and Mr D said it well.... looks like you get it....

Peace....DHF....:ying:....

man if I could get a cut of Chem D I would !! i am from small town Ohio so there not many elite cuts going around my area :( but everywhere I go SB is killing it... I love my Sour Bubble, but I am ready to move on to other strains... I see they offer Mental Floss again and I am thinking about grabbing a pack of that as well as many of BOGs genetics as possible... :)

I am certain, actually positive, that I can get 5 lbs with even just a medium yielder !! I just don't think I will ever get there with SB!! and if I could get a real cash cropping strain I would exploit that bitch and definitely have record harvests !!!

I also miss my Sensi Star.. she always gave me great yields in my old system, and her buds were way bigger with some density but not nearly as dense as SB.. A+ smoke too... I wish I could have done at least one monocrop run with Sensi in the WW... probably would have done really well...

SB is leafy, but the buds aren't, they are fairly easy to trim... every time I do a defol I wish I would have taken more... there are still a lot of leaves left now.... but I do my final defol tonight or tom (to both WWs).. then wait it out til harvest... and yes, I tried to test the limits of the bloom boosters this time and ended up burning the tips.. but I lowered the EC and they didn't burn any further... hoping it didn't cause too much of a problem..

don't ever feel the need to apologize, I know that you always mean well and I am here with open ears...

harvest is right around the corner... :woohoo:
