So fellers, looking for some input here.

This is roughly what I have in mind. Not to scale or even very accurate.

picture.php

Only using 1/2 the space to grow in. 2 600w and 1 400w. the 6s are cooltubes and tied directly to the exhaust, the 4 is bare bulb. HPS in the 6s - MH in the 4. The perforated line is a curtain/tarp/ 3 accordion doors (hmm, I like that idea).

Legal for 12 but probably going with 11 - leaves space for overflow or a mini beaster. The main thing Im wondering is if I should hang the 400 the way depicted or twist it 90*. There will be light overlap near the sump pump with the 6s. Thinking the lumens would be a bit more even if the 400 is twisted.

What do you guys think?

I use dry wall and a pocket door to separate my veg studio from my flower studio...was thinking maybe it would work on your application..in lieu of a curtain..or accordion thing. Be easy to frame up...the pocket doors come as their own unit..then a few 2X4s and some sheetrock...be pretty quick work

maybe I'm not seeing it right though...I'm a little faded

I think you should get da room finished - toss some plants in - and then play with the mh and find the sweet spot.

What is your watering system going to be? Hand water DTW? Drip DTW? big bags of soil getting hosed the fuck down? lol w/e it maybe you should show us how you want to arrange the plants which will also help dictate the lamps position.

How about walking thru the room to the back and shtuff once flowering - do you plan on doing that? Cause I was thinking arrange the lights so you can have a row in the middle of the flower section of the room so you could walk down an "isle" to access other parts of the room or the back plants for w/e purpose.

Honestly I wouldn't give a shit about the light position - If you can't finish the room till you finalize its position - build both spots to rig up so you can finish - probably come in handy in the future - I foresee upgrades! :)

Accordion style sound cool but sounds like a short lifespan/lots of work and silly little problems springing up now and then.

I like what jericho suggests only if you are allowed to do that to the space. It would really allow you to established permanence. You could seal the room for Co2 and it would be more secure overall.

My 2 cents for ya Wildgrow

:good:

Really can't wait to see that floor with that awesome sounding lining or w/e - jealous.

I'm confident those BM are in good hands and will be back in full gear in no time :)

Im still going to veg in my pantry under a mix of 8 flouro tubes. This keeps veg/bud separated by 2 floors and 1/2 a dozen doors. A problem in 1 room wont necessarily mean a problem in the other. Plus lower power costs, not having to upgrade the already available hardware, etc.

Id still have to frame up for the accordians, but essentially I could open up the whole 'wall' for easy access. Hmmm? Maybe build 3 hinged panels with swivel casters anchored to 1 wall. :chin:

Don't mind the paraphrasing bro. Hand watering all the way. Might set up a rain barrel and run a line under the bulkhead into the grow.

Im thinking 3 plants along the short wall w/ the pump and then 2 rows of 4. No aisle, that's why I want a wall that opens - giving me the entire space to work in. Sick of the cramped conditions of the pantry. No upgrades are planned.

No permanence here. Ive got about 2 years of run time here and then Im moving. The room is going to be 90-95% sealed. Theres no flange around the intake/exhaust yet, door still isn't 100% framed for tightness. But I did a lil test. lifted the paint can up past the exhaust and there was enough of a vacuum that the tube followed the can until it fell under its own weight. I thought that was pretty cool.

My partner has a tank so co2 is gonna happen.

I could frame up and just make 2 big doors, that might be better and more airtight. Always options.

Cant wait to be done with the floor. Its a rubberized epoxy paint - good protection against my newbie cement work.

Thanks guys, got me scheming again.

Hey bro, it would be a lot of extra work but if you built multiple smaller VERT rooms, you could monocrop in each with different strains and pull down some WEIGHT! Just a thought, everything is looking great either way!

Original plan was to do a 1000 w room and a 600 w vert room (to practice the concept). Cramping myself into tight spaces again though. Sticking with horizontal for now - a lot easier to shuffle the plants around.

Going to keep these vegging for at least a month - try to get them out of their runtiness.

Just about done with the floor. While I wait for it to cure, Ill be cleaning the equipment and extras with a bleach solution. Then hang everything, Make a roofing rubber flange for the intake/exhaust and seal the floor. Determined to rock this room by Sunday night. :headbange

Suppose its time to start a new thread for the new space... rolling it out for the next 2 years. After all, Ima hafta pop some more beans to fill the space.

The floor hasn't been epoxied yet - can says new concrete should cure for 30 days before application - so no super cool rubber floor yet. And I sure as hell aint waiting a month to get this shit rolling.
