youd do better to improve some soil and grow direct in the ground,
all pots are limiting ,
and harder to maintain than the ground,

have a look at everyones pots ,, and see the limiting factor,
the plants mimic above what happens below,
imagine how wide those plants could be if not restricted by a pot,

unless its absolutely not able to be done,
improve some soil and grow direct in some well prepared garden beds..

Im a balcony grower has to be smart pots + the way i see there better than growing in ground take alook at the outdoor growing thread all the people pulling 5- 10 lbs easy with smart pots hehe anyways was just curious to see if anyone had run them here

Great advice on the pots mate
But some of us don't have the luxury of being able to grow in the ground, I make up my own soil to the best of my abilities then use the biggest pots I can safely use(security wise and my busted up back), the bigger the pot the better the plant, ....... I'm trying some big arsed smart pot knock offs this upcoming season, to try them out to see how they go

get 65's or 100's ! or if you have room even go 400's ive seen crazy results with all of these sizes than you have the crazy kats the go all out with 1000's galons if only we were all medicalilized

Designed and built a garden in Portugal. Worked on a farm there as well .Smuggled a chip of polm to Spain on a plane he he .
Smoked Moroccan Polm in Alicante . Joined the canna clubs in Barcelona . Worked an all nighter makin bubble there as well .Got taken to the back room by cops in Nth Spain as I was smelling of the Amnesia Hz / dry sift refer I blew before heading to the metal detectors . I just smiled and explained it was all gone . Luckily I threw the last bit of polm in the bin directly after I smoked the refer lol .
Learnt about Haze from a cpl of guys who have grown the old school cuts for 20 years in Holland . Went to Amsterdam / Rotterdam for a week and hit the coffee shops .Then hitched across Belgium and France to the Spanish frontier fueled by Haze , Jamaican , Thai , African and Nepali hash . Its been quite an awakening experience ...
Looking fwd to the sound of Australian accents and dialect more and more lol .

Murder , peado and the "dangerous drug " cannabis are on the list .
I wanted to visit some buddies there and ole Woody in Hawaii but no dice . So I had to head west then come back .
The next leg is gonna get real interesting heading back through Asia ...

(jump_in) anyone used smart pots in oz before ?

I made a pot this winter. it's 7 meters long, 450 deep and 1500 wide. and thought I was pretty smart to fill it with all sorts of shit. (had a pot more than half as small as that once and grew 2 x 1K+ plants in it.)
hasn't rained enuf so took four 44's to do an initial wet of the soil. and that was not to saturation. just enuf to give the bacteria a drink so's they can get on with having sex and multiplying while I wait for planting time.

would love to grow in ground but can't spare the water necessary and there are millions of these termite things that only go away with nasty sprays ... and I don't want to do that.

Edit: Noydie, that's 23 feet long, 18 inches deep and 5 feet wide.

Nice work on the pot Sat x RB. Thats the kind of pot that grows monsters

I might be making some this season with geofabric (cheap in 20m rolls) weed mat and lots of rotten wood and perhaps some roadkill right at the bottom. Fill it up with some quality soil, topdress with some goodies and mulch with lucerne.

Then just add water and wait for the sun to arrive
