Ok sooner than I thought I should be back in business as just spent more fecking money on this FPMSL:

Split System Air Conditioning Inverter Cool/Heat 3.5 KW Pack Featuring a Toshiba compressor.

Model: 3.5kw KFR-33IW/X1C

Our EASYfit split air conditioners comprises two elements - an internal and an external unit. The internal unit is fitted to a metal mounting plate on a wall in the room to be cooled¸ whilst the external unit is situated outside the building. The two are connected using copper pipe. The external unit or condenser removes the heat from the room and dissipates it outside along with any condensation that's built-up in the system whilst the internal unit provides cooling.
Split Air Conditioning Units:

Most people think that air conditioners lower the temperature in their rooms simply by pumping cool air in. What's really happening is the heat from the warm air in the room is being removed and recycled back in as cooled air. This cycle continues until the room reaches the desired thermostat temperature.
How does it Work?

An air conditioner is basically a refrigerator without the insulated box. It uses the evaporation of a refrigerant to provide cooling or heating. The mechanics of the evaporation cycle are the same in a refrigerator as in an air conditioning unit.
Running Costs Based On 10p per KW Hour:

The KFR-32 will cost you 10.53 pence per hour, just over 10p not bad for 3.8KW of heat and 3.5KW cooled air.
model = 3.5kw KFR-33IW/X1C

Features:

* This unit features a Toshiba compressor
* Remote Control
* Adjustable Fan Speeds For Rapid Cooling Or Minimum Noise
* Heat Pump Model Provides Heating As Well As Cooling
* Oscillating Air Vanes For Dissipation Of Cold Air
* A Timer Feature That Will Turn The Unit On & Off Automatically

And a bracket for the outside unit:

£40.56 delivered 48 hours

So just under £500 or 2.5 oz depending on how you look at things lol.

Could you have temporarly put just one of the 1200 leds in the loft or is it just to hot before you even start. That air cooling system looks to be a good one especially if you can set the temp and it just keeps it at what you want. Only concern I have is as I live in a rented house is how many holes you need put in the wall. Sounds like you will have the dream set up soon always useful if your a bit of a handy man as well. Buff.

I had 2 running then mate but even I reduced it to one it would not have made that much difference as the outside temps where over 28c here yesterday so my intakes where like hair dryers blowing warm air in from outside :( As for these units as there is no ducting its purely just holes for the return and in pipe from the outside unit to the inside. Also with no hot smelly air being drawn out of the room it helps with security :) I will spend today ripping out all my intakes and out takes which will make more room and as the AC is A rated I should do well on the energy savings as well. I now need to get hold of 28 cuttings lol fit all the AC up and in and then back to the show :)

I have one of them in the room and unless you keep topping them up with icy cold water then they are crap, as the water soon warms to room temperature then they just blow warm air all over the place :(

My AC unit supposedly uses only 10p per hour as A rated? With the 6", 8", 5" and another 6" fans I will be taking out then the energy consumption should be ok but I will report back.

P.s I have read that these aircon units need a vacuum pump to purge the air? Is it cheap enough to buy the vacuum pump or try and find a qualified AC installer I can trust to do it? :tiphat:

What do you think of the LEDS now you have had them for a while DankDemon?
Mine was introduced 3 Days Short of 6 weeks Duration Of the Flowering Cycle.
Quite sure the Plants Benefited even at this stage (as DirkDiggla had Said they would)
The Buds Seemed Bigger.Plain as
Don't know about all this Reflective Material Though.Seems a waste of time for leds ?
How are the Plants Coping in Vegative Growth?

Sure you'll be happy at the Results in Flowering anyhow

Hey Bro,

Due to this heat and me buying a a/c unit that needs professional fitting the room is completely void of anything grow related, even the mylar is down. Once the a/c is done and everything is back in better than before then we will have a show again :) Until then the LEDs look great under the bed LMAO :tiphat::ying:

The international postal sorting hub at Coventry airport was featured on Fake Britain last night , they seem keen to xray parcels looking for counterfeit imports to confiscate , and probably spot led,s and similar for duty as a bonus.

Bastards.

Ahh man, I made it through the thread to find your on pause! Damn, lol :)

I am fairly certain the company is using what ever LEDs it can get, and that is why the readings are different. Even from the same manufacturer you get different BINS, with different quality ratings...they are likely ordering the discount left overs. This would also make sense as to why they are running the unit at 40% instead of 60-70%.

Still.... 1500 watts of LED is fucking bright man. I can't wait to see you get this set up. The plants will love it.

Some one had concerns about the canopy distance earlier in the thread? 24-36" from the light is still plenty for growing just about anything.

Hey bro,

Thanks for stopping by my thread :) Yeah I am on pause but the aircon is getting joined up tomorrow, then its time to carry up all the stuff again, turn the radio on and get the room back better and more efficient than ever. I am sure I will be happy with the lights but was just unhappy they were not as advertised. Watch this space

Did seem a bit far to me after useing earlier arrays six inches away , they seem to have improved somewhat since.

Interesting read on leds and par readings , these fishy folk take their hobby seriously.

Instead of paying hundreds of dollars on a PAR meter, I bought an Apogee SQ-110 sensor (click on "Order Sensors" on left) and borrowed the digital multimeter (DMM) from work. As long as your DMM reads in millivolts (mV), or thousandths of a volt, then you can use it with the SQ-110 quantum sensor to get PAR readings. There are a lot of cheap DMMs available that will work just fine. You simply multiply the mV reading (or thousandths of a volt) by 5 to get the PAR value. As a bonus, you have a DMM that can be used to test for stray voltages, grounded circuits, live wire and many more things, too, instead of just a more expensive meter that only reads PAR.

The gain/output on the Apogee SQ-110 is 5.00 µmol m-2 s-1 (or written as µmol*m2*sec) per mV, so if you get a mV reading of 20mV (0.020 V) that's 100 PAR. Since I have LEDs, I then multiply it by 1.2 for 120 PAR.

(20 mV) * (5 µmol*m2*sec/mV) * 1.2 = 120 PAR

or

(0.020 V) * (5000 µmol*m2*sec/V) * 1.2 = 120 PAR
