I palan on making some seeds by hand. After lookinng here and several other sites I have a question.

Can single buds be pollinated ( only pollinated bud has seeds) or is it

Any pollenation = SEEDSAMILLION

a small amount of pollen, gives a small number of seeds, but small is deceptively small and more is a lot.

Hi bud, welcome to ICmag!

Yes, if you are careful (difficult) and use a q-tip to brush pollen onto only the buds you want to create seeds with. The rest of the plant will be seedless buds. But if you so happen to shake the plant or turn a fan on, that pollen may travel around to all the buds. You might want to experiment with pollinating 1 bud/branch (perferably lower) - then placing a clear plastic bag over the branch loosely without closing he bag, this may help you contain the pollen to just one area.

If it was me I would leave the bag on for a few days.

Good luck and make sure to come back and share your story once you've tried!!!

Yup, a single bud can be pollinated & leave the rest of the plant unseeded. Do it all the time. Remember a little pollen goes a long way. What are you crossing by the way?

I just use my finger, works good. Turn off your ventilation and fans when you do it though!

Hey Bud,

Was the unknown donated seed the male or female?
The correct way to designate cannabis crosses: (female x male)

Curious to hear how the seeds came out!!

Cheers,
Bel

A thin white paper bag is a better idea. I use white paper that breaths to get rid of moisture.

I just put some pollen in the sprayer with water, shaked and sprayed the ladies :) Hope this will work.

Any nutrient-wise recommendations for plants making seeds?

looks like there is only 1 male and a bunch of females to cross to..

IMHO you should make a bunch of seeds now. use this generation as one to make a lot of seeds and don't worry about only pollinating one branch.
you can still pollinate maybe the bottom half of the plant just control when you have your male in the room.

next gen you would be able to start stabilizing strains that you liked.

Water is the enemy of pollen .
In nature pollen may need to travel . So it has a static charge that helps it fly on the wind . Pollen doesn`t fly through rain . And the 1st contact with water starts its demise .
Collect some pollen in a container . Turn your fans off . Place your finger in the container . Leave the container outside the grow room . Touch your pollen coated finger on some pistils of a lower well developed cola . Close your hand into a fist and get the fck away from the plants with out touching any and the job is done . You might get 1 or 2 seed in other flowers but this aint rocket surgery .

If you want to be strict about the pollination . Wet the other plants with a mister . That should stop pollination by killing the pollen on contact .

Thanks for sharin

Thanks for advice. I know there is a "dry" way to do this - it just seemed to me kinda inefficient. I bet I read about this sprayer techique here on IC some time ago, could be hoax, dunno.

Anyway, we shall see if it worked in couple of weeks. The worst thing to happen is the seedless, sensimilla harvest :pimp3:

If the pollen got wet there will be no seeds ...

Can you point out a link to the info about mixing pollen with water pls ?

It needs removing before some other noob wastes their time and effort using the same method .

Thanks for sharin
