That was actually 60% in the light cycle. During lights off it gets down to 37%. Is that too low?

Naw man dont trip, your doing great hush.

How does your humidity getting down to to 38 in the dark cycle? doesnt make sense to me. Could be that you live in a super arid environment and your lights are off during the day?

Aw shit, I'm such a dumbass. :snap out of it:

Yeah, the humidity is going up to 60% during the dark cycle. Not the light cycle. I went in and checked the humidity at the end of the 18 hour light cycle, and THAT was when the humidity was at its low, as recorded by my thermometer. I had it backwards. Duhhhh...

So yeah, it is going up to 60% during the dark cycle, and down to 37% during the light cycle.

Man don't be so hard on yourself your doing well so who cares if you are forgetful, I can't remember anything I do not care about, and mess up the stuff that is mildly important, but I nail down what is important like my health , my family.

Peace

I've heard it doesn't matter what color they are, as opposed to a DWC bucket where it does matter. The reasoning for this is because the res is constantly being replenished, unlike in a DWC bucket, so there's just never the right conditions for algae to grow. But I might be wrong about that, and I am not an expert on this method... yet, lol.

So I went with the cheap ass orange Homer buckets.

Not too much has changed, except I am seeing some growth now.

for any folk who aren't DIY savy these tents seem very nice. Easy to orginanize and keep clean.

hush, nice looking start. your description of the strain sounds very tempting.
question about the last picture; it looks like you're pulling air from the tent through the light hood and out the tent, is that right? do you still need to put another duct line for the light so your not venting odors?

Good question, and no I don't need to worry about that because 100% of the air that flows through the tent is exited through a carbon filter. I don't actually have the carbon filter connected at the moment, but only because the plants don't stink yet. Once they go to flowering, I will be connecting it. For right now, it's just hanging in the tent behind the reflector.

But yeah, once it's connected there will be no need for an extra duct line. I think people do that when they are running a closed-loop for the air cooling of the lights, but in my case, I have an air conditioner in the room keeping everything nice and cool, so there was no need to separately vent the air cooled light.

Hope that answers your question!

I think I've always pulled air through any filter I've used, so it didn't occur to me you'd put the filter out side the tent , blowing air into it rather thna keeping it in the tent pulling air through it.
but I know it'll work both ways

No, the filter is inside the tent. It runs like this: passive intake > through the plants > carbon filter > air cooled reflector > inline fan > out the tent.

The air gets scrubbed pretty good on its way through the tent, but any odors that escape will inevitably get sucked right back into the tent again for further cleaning, as the tent just recirculates back into the air conditioned room.

Any odors around my house that are still present after all the scrubbing, will be the ones coming from the pipe in my hand. ;)

Twist 1, yes, I was tempted! Trust me! But there were so many new variables happening for me, with this new grow, that I needed to go with an air cooled light to make sure I could keep the temps down. I now think that I could go bare bulb in here if I crank the air conditioning to its coldest setting.

No, not the same brand as my smaller tent. I wish it was. The smaller tent is a secret jardin, but those were too expensive for my budget this time around, so I went with this cheaper one off Amazon, by a company called Aviditi. It was the cheapest one I could find. I want to say it was like $140 or so, but I don't quite remember. I would so much rather have a secret jardin. I plan on upgrading this one after a couple harvests.

what kinda problems do you have with it? Just not well-constructed? i've seen and heard mix reviews on the lighthouse hydro tents. they are a nice price and look decently constructed... thinking about trying one out...

I'm not technically having any problems with it... at least, not yet. But I immediately noticed how crappily sewn the zippers are. I don't expect them to last very long, sadly. Then, after hanging things from the support beams, I noticed that they were bending, slightly. They must use lower-integrity aluminum or something like that. Another sad thing to mention is that there is only 1 intake port down at the floor level. This means that, if I were in a situation where the window flaps couldn't be opened, for stealth or whatever, a passive intake wouldn't be an option. An active intake would be the only way to provide enough air for the active exhaust, otherwise the tent would suck inward way too much from the neg pressure. Also, the window flaps don't come with a way to hold them open (or closed) for some asinine reason. What a ridiculous design flaw! Fortunately I had a roll of Velcro tape laying around, so I fixed that myself.

All in all, it is serving its purpose, which was to provide a 4' x 4' room inside of a spare room, and I don't have to worry about light leaks in my scenario... but that might change in the future, so I have already resolved myself to upgrade to a DR120 as soon as I can afford it.

Although, I must admit, I recently discovered that the new GrowLab tents have windows built into all of them! That would really be an awesome, and useful, design element. I don't know enough about them though, so I can't vouch for their quality in any way.

Hush, what's your plan for co2 with your room air being recycled? A couple of five gallon HD buckets with 20 pounds of sugar, water and champagne yeast each work for me from mid veg through flower. Makes a big difference in a semi sealed room... :)

Yeah I'm eventually going to fill up a co2 tank and supplement that way. I already have the necessary equipment. Good call brother!

That's even better! I always ran the yeast buckets from being a home brewer and seasonal grower not wanting to bother with tanks for the short time I can flower. Should have known you were all over that already... :)

I used to do planted aquariums, so I still have a lot of the equipment from that hobby. A lot of it transfers over to this one, lol, especially with hydroponics.
