Golden Tiger Or Malawi?

Greetings Painfull,

Fortunatly, there are very nice growers reports around about both strains, Im not sure i can add much that has not been previously said. Both Malawi and Golden Tiger fem has been bred towards the overpowering strenght of the killer malawi mother. The released malawi is our effort to stabilize this extreme potency and resin production in seed form through backcrosses within the same malawi population, while Golden Tiger has the thai plus and makes the high more up and funny although is still very deep and long lasting.

Many friends suddenly wake up from a dream after smoke a few tokes of malawi saying 'omg ... where am i and what did happen?'

Thanks Dubi for chiming in. What I got from all the peoples comments were that the GT is more functional...lol..And Malawi is more of a knock out. I guess the best way to tell which one you like the best is to grow them both. Since they will be together in the same reservoir the flowering times seem almost the same and I guess I can get away with it. I will still be searching for all the grow reports to get more info. on these strains.

Hi Dubi, correct me if i am wrong; on the tolkin bowls malawi grow you said something about a purple malawi x killer malawi being in stock? is that right or is it the purple haze cross with malawi?.

This is what dubi said in tolkin bowls thread:
"The purple malawi was easier to find in the fem version in our earlier malawi releases, we have found a very desirable purple malawi mum for breeding, not so powerful like the killer malawi mum but more pleasant, tasty and early flowering, still enough powerful it has been backcrossed again to the killer malawi mum in feminized format to try to stabilize the most colorful, resinous and powerful expressions. I'd recommend you to wait for the new malawi fem releases, hopefully will be available at the end of this year."

This is still confusing me. So if I bought Malawi fems about a month ago from boutique, what parents were used? Originals? Purple? A mix of two?

Ps love the packaging. I got 6 seeds too!

I'm thinking of doing a malawi next season at 38 degrees south. Anyone think it could finish? i have tried holy smokes malawi in my climate but it was too tropical to finish, the company said 10-12 but in reality it would have gone past 18 weeks. Does anyone here have any southern malawi experience?

I find that some GT phenos have the potential to out-yield Malawi. GT sometimes turn purple, below is a purple GT male. I left 2 GTs males outside and one stayed green and one went purple. It might be the cold that caused this and its not the best looking male in the world...

Well, June is the middle of winter for me. Right now my Malawi outside is still putting out bud growth. My other Malawis at a friend's place are doing even better. I did start 11/13 inside until outside was 10/14 before placing outside(therefore initial pistil formation was indoor). I have not cut them or GTs yet, though I would estimate a fully outdoor completion time outside to be around July. This is my first outdoor in non-tropical area so take it with a pinch of salt.

The malawi fem stock is a mix of killer malawi S1 and malawi killer x malawi offsprings.

The purple malawi will be released soon in feminized format as a limited edition. Will keep you updated with news soon.
