innertaining illectric ideas

due to living on the riverbank -- tidal, about .5 knot current -- which is more reliable than solar, i'll go with hydroelectricity. Do you have a link?

my alternative is to use solar heating with river cooling for a sterling engine.

can a sterling engine produce enough rpm to generate usable elec? might be enough to recharge the battery bank, i'll have to study that some.

to stabliize your 120 you could use batteries and pull AC out with a sine wave inverter...just a thought. there is a thread around about free power doing just that from solar.

package deal. buy two get one...half off

i really won't know enough about sterling engines until i move from the desktop model i got 20 years ago and building a large scale one. just no time right now for that project.

stabilizing AC is not the problem, loss of AC due to downed power pole is the problem.

two is not redundant enough for me.

Nothing is ever free. Not mind, not material.

as post one indicated.

i'm getting the feeling you aren't buyin...

and you're so right...i spent many hours investing energy and focus to where i forgot to eat or bathe. exhausting hours of reading and visulalizing this concept, so it hasn't been free.

but...it'ds closer to free than PG&E.:ying:

This is one of the things I like best about the site overall, and this forum in particular. Although I haven't done that in awhile, I used to often think that only happened to me. I sometimes thought it a bad thing, selfish, and I should be more aware. I would often like "wake-up" and more time had passed than I had thought. I often thought I must be the only one doing those type of things and usually thought I was some kind of weirdo because of that. But reading others are sometimes like that too makes me feel better about it. :woohoo:

Back to the subject at hand, good for you and your friend simply from the recycle and reuse standpoint at it's best.

dddaver thank you.
it's ok to have others think you've gone over...somehow makes the spoils sweeter.

it's been a rough patch but i think i'll just sit here and watch the river flow.
