Finally put some film on the sucka. Actual covering is gonna be here next week.... Started to get a lil sunburn so we decided to put the 12.99 6mil special from ACE hardware up until the mailman arrives

Still trying to understand this sunburn phenomenon, not used to the great halide in the sky or how to properly deal with it, a few of the BIG mommas got some "sunburn" on some of the old growth fan leaves... The small Trainwrecks, BlackBerry, and Cheese barely any of them received and sun damage, but the WiFi OG I put out got absolutely COOKED, threw up the film to help their transfer outside, we'll see how the look tomorrow!

Brought all the future indoor plants outside to get some sun and fresh Humboldt breezes since the film was up, we didn't want to set them in the full sun, but since we ended up throwing up the film, we dragged them out and watered them...

A bit of sunburn on the biggest oldest leaves of that one in the foreground, overall these bitches are LOVING life, especially since I shaped them up with a haircut..

Gagglefuk of Trainwreck, that crop we hope is gonna be MAJOR!

That home depot stuff blocks hella light and isnt uv treated, it will get brittle and crumble in to dust if left in sun for too long. To avoid sunburn I never bring plants out between 11 and 3 if its sunny, I like to bring them out early or in the eve, and on their first few days being outside I foliar with plain water a lot..never have a problem that way. Also plants used to hid for a long time have a harder time adjusting to the more intense light than fresh starts, I think they get used to the rate the hids have them photosynthesising.

Trainwreck kicks ass!

Ahhh plants and their mischievous ways!

Your plants leaves will adapt, especially the new foliage, it will be "built" for the sun. Its a mechanism within most if not all plants.

All plants have certain light preferences but have survival mechanisms to ensure they can adapt to their environment.

theres an indoor dwarf ficus that will baffle newbies. It is extremely sensitive to light and all of its foliage adjusts to its surrounding light by first - killing off and dropping off all leaves - and they restarting new growth and regrowing all the old foliage with the adjusted leaves.

Not sure if cannabis does the same - but within time they will adjust to the real shtuff :)

Hey Hella are you watering all of those by hand?

You can kinda barely see it, but under the portico in the shade is a 165gal white polyethylene tank we're currently using to water them while they are little, we have a 660gal we are going to swap out and fill with ?"aquaponic"? water from the pond on the property. The pond is fully alive with an ecosystem and fish, not a graded catchbasin like many people often illegally install.

But, yes....we currently have a pump and wand to water with, we have only done it once so far, they just went out and got a fresh water when they were set out, we'll see when their thirsty again.

Once they are in their final homes, everything is going to be drip fed and semi automated...

just got off the phone with Farmtek, they said the film will be delivered tomorrow, we'll see how much motivation/how fast we get it up on thursday, lol

The plan with this plastic was only going up for a week at max, we wanted a cheap shield from the sunburn we were starting to get on a few of the strains.

just read a really interesting article on diffused light for plant growth, its a whole different school of thought form what I'm used to indoor-in it up!

And, YESSIR.... Trainwreck is a special plant indeed, I feel as if I have a long history with this plant and am very proud to have it in my stable in a major way again!

Oh I know they will, Its just weird how some are affected when others aren't at all, the WiFi took it the hardest, pretty sure they came straight out from under fluorescents into the sun, the Trainwreck seems to have cared the LEAST!

lol, whats a plant count?

j/k no really, we have a binder full of recommendations on file.

For sure, diffused light like from the IRAC plastic from Farmtek kicks ass, I'm not sure the Home Depot stuff does the same job. About 2 weeks is all it can take in direct sun before it turns in to confetti.

Hrmmmmm, so for my plants that are going out "full-sun" how do I go about acclimating them to the bright sunshine? just Exposure bit by bit?

Get a refractometer and check your BRIX levels, I have no problem throwing them out from T5s or 1K MH as long as I don't do it when the sun is Blazing on them ...Say between 11-3 I won't put anything out..But early AM or late afternoon and it's all good the next day or through out the day.

If your BRIX is low that is probably why they are burning..Not able to photosynthesize enough...Coco fiber and conventional fertilizers usually end up with low brix levels unless a lot of work is put in..Really invest in a meter.

Minerals are the key, brix is just a measure of photosynthesis byproduct. Sugars dont really increase photosynthesis, but things like spraying with epsom salts may

Killin it! It's going to be a great summer, it's already been like summer over here in trinity. Supposed to be 103 on Sat. I had a few plants that didn't like the sun when they went from inside to the greeny. I just set them in trays and filled it with a few inches of EWC tea and moved them to a shadier spot for a day. They are all happy now.
