RollDaddy- Thanks man. that is the real number. it finished a month ago

mmj- this Blue Dream came out denser than it has in other rooms in the past. and it made all the difference. my bros have hit 2.75 before with her, but no one has cleared 3 til now.

not to start shit ,but running multiple 1 ks dosnt count,
If this thread is strictly 1 ,1k? and hitting 3 lbs, that would be tough to pull off.Iconsider the foot print for a 1 k 4x4 or 16 sq feet so your talikng 3 oz per sq foot ,
Thats some serious smoke if it was pulled off with a reasonable veg time .Iknow theres some serious soggers and scroggers out there but those are huge numbers IMO

Why would it mean anything different other than 3 lbs per light JM.....1 single , or 100 bulbs......matters not.....

This thread is but for 1 reason , and that`s to feed certain people`s ego......No more from me here....

I've been wondering just how much light/lumens/wattage, is needed to get maximum yield with NO wasted energy. This thread would seem to be going in that direction.

I got almost a LB out of 432 watts of T5HO 2'x 4'. SCROG'd of course. Some here don't seem to understand the efficiencies of training and or pruning. lol

The movers certainly add a new dimension to the equation. Amazingly, the plants don't seem to need/want light for the full 12 hours except intermittently?

Color me amazed, amused and enlightened!

OP; Thx for posting.

And I did mine, First grow, and Dam near by accident. And in Dirt.

some long legs on those ladies, pruned up proper... canopy 5' wide... grown in UnderCurrent 8 gallon buckets, so plants sit a bit over a foot off the ground... that pic is a line of 4 lights, with four more to the left (2 of which had OG Sin under 'em)... I try to keep my lights about 16" above top colas.

I knew I'd get some doubters, but thought I'd throw up my shots anyway. Thanks for the love fellas

Looks like a Huge amount of work.

But what a Harvest.

MUCH respect.

I read it as per 1k, not just one 1k bulb. I mean, if someone pulled off 3# under 4 250w it would still be awesome and apply right?
:peacock:

and I agree about poor DrFever.. he's so experienced and knowledgeable about the things he's done in the past. What a shame that he is always playing the part of the ass.:spank:

Sorry about the confusion. I am not trying to split hairs with this thread nor feed egos. I want to see how to grow 3lbs w 1k in flower. While I originally thought (1) 1k, thinking about it more, it doesn't really matter if it's 3k and yielding 9 lbs or (2) 250's and yielding 1.5. You can always ramp up or down to hit the mark. But most of the people I know simply grow w (1) 1k HPS in flower.

It`s all good Bro.....I`ve never been here but for 1 reason and 1 reason only......to help folks....and.....

The answer to your query on howta pull 3 lbs per 1 KW is babyshit simple and I`ve been preachin it for yrs.....

Increased plant numbers dictate yield.....period....but....it takes a clone factory and the ability to pump out said rooted cuts REGULARLY to feed the beast and yield accordingly.....

I live in the Hell of the dirty south and was always paranoid about increased numbers , and when I found Krusty way back when I learned howta pump 10 lb rooms outta 4 plants with perfect environment and all my ducks in a row with a high maintenance fast hydro setup for a solid decade.....but.....

The first time I saw Heath Robinson set up a breeding project lookin for pheno`s in a 4 x 6 small ass room with 2-600 watters side by side and 2 stacked shelves on all 4 walls , he had seedlings flipped straight 12/12 and fully rooted cuts to fill in the gaps for a perfect sideways canopy and the bare bulbs hangin with a total of 87 plantlets if memory serves.......and then.....

When all was said and done , he harvied a lil over 4 lbs outta said room with major air exchange twice per minute and trimming/pruning/shaping em to prevent larfy bullshit by end of stretch.....and.....

He`d already talked me outta krusty buckets that yr , and into DIY ebb and flow bucket flip rooms with 35-5 gal buckets in each room pullin 5 lbs every 4 1/2 weeks +/- , but I was destined to build vertical racks after I saw him come up with em a yr or so later......long story short.....

Gettogro`s building 3 lb plants on the regular these days , but only hittin 1.2 lbs per "1KW" light with increased vegtime , so point blank with proof in the pudding , the only way I`ve ever seen 3 and even 4 lbs per 1 KW is with increased plant numbers and very little veg , whether they be high plant count horizontal flood and drain table SOG`s , or vertical angled racks/bookshelf setups with stacked bare bulbs.....

Said I wouldn`t post in this thread again , but I wanted all here to know the facts without conjecture and hearsay from he said/she said bullshit.......

Hope that helps medicalmj.....

Peace....DHF.....:ying:......

DHF;

Has anyone ever figured out just how far the 'movers' can travel w/o making too little light for the plants...

Or should I say, figured out how many lumens it takes in the 12 hour cycle to keep their growth Optimal?

Inquiring minds need to know. lol

thx

My empirical obs make me say 3-4 ft. I currently have mine stoppers set just under 3 ft. Keeping all sides close and covered w reflective will greatly increase lumens on/around the peripheral. Also, some strains need less/more. I used to run at over 4 feet w solid nugs across a 7' x 5' canopy due to the strain. And I just replaced the gearbox in my lightrail3, which I bought in 95. I love it. Oh yeah, i burned it out casue I hung XXXL w glass plus push/pulled a second. I fixed by running rod through mover so no weight on it.

I forgot, are you using 1k in each xxxl?

2.8

2.8

I work n the mmjs field and I have seen rows of 1k lights w 2.8 lbs under every light . When u start having "many" lights the lumen saturation increases thus giving larger yields per light.but w 1 single 1k this I have never seen high 2's per 1 light.

Don't be fooled into thinking that vert guys are pulling there ridiculous numbers tho a few have like HEATH but the average vert grower is struggling just like the rest.... i would like to see 1.8 gram vert grow or 4 lb 1 k like you mention ?????
and being honest with the right strain and like above posts mention dialing your room c02 etc and being experienced it is possible but can guarantee you it won;t be consistent a fluke run maybe
being very truthful i ran 76 plant sog 2 k Afganistan kush vegged 5 weeks flowered 76 days (10 weeks) to achieve 5.5 pounds
in total of 111 days to achieve this.....
Was this a good way to grow not in my books to god dam long so off to hy bred strain that is faster grower ending up with a extra grow per year
sogs your only really harvesting half of each plant so lots of waste
i turned to less plant counts same veg times scrog styles and blew that 5.5 pounds away with training techniques and more plant control with savings of overall food costs and power consumption, and harvesting more of the plant
bottom line to get 2 pounds to 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 pounds off 1 k you done unbelievable
i can honestly say 1130 - 1180 dry grams per 1k consistent:tiphat:
There is to many growers trying to keep up with the jones on here so they manipulate there yields so to not look like a failures.
Its the internet take 30 percent as truth and other 70 percent as BS.:thank you:

:laughing::jerkit::off2:

none of us down in vertville are struggling my friend 'its called dialing' ,only lessons no failures ...stay tuned you just might learn something.

I think 1.4 - 1.5 is my personal max for pulling off of a single 1000w light. It was probably a 9 or 10 week flowering time. It was just regular ol' horizontal growing.

Everything I have ever done has been air cooled, but I just recently removed the glass so lets see how that goes!

i think that's a respectable yield and probably what most good rooms yield. With a high yielding strain and a bit longer veg w scrog, lil over 2 would put ya in the top. Off 2k horz scrog 6 plants my last I got 3 bows of only fat nugs and 14 zips of small that were still nice but a pain in the ass to trim. So not 2 per but close.

:asskick:I hate threads like this... These boards are full of info on how to setup a pro grow op. go do your homework like everyone else who gets bomb yields... It ain't gonna jump out at you from one post:snap out of it:
