They aren't doing this out the goodness of their heart or even because it's a constitutional requirement. They are doing it because the ACLU has threatened to sue the State if they didn't. Had they not threatened to sue it would still be status quo in Nevada and none of this would be an issue..

From what i see right now that financials related amendment about to be reprinted and the thing is on Senate Floor Agenda today. Still seems like it must take too many turns before 3rd to pass. I guess will see.

And some poor soul got lost in the comments section of the bill it appears. I think the last poster was thinking this bill would legalize the weed completely. Either way, that guy is funny..lol contact high from legalizing marijuana is a pretty funny concept. Nice that he is against the bill though..lol regardless of why...;)

Passed the senate. I see on the legislative calendar that Exempt Bills are due out of Committee tomorrow. The bill isn't yet scheduled for Assembly Judicial tomorrow, so hold your breath or be ready to shout loud. I want to see this bill on the list that says, "failed to meet the deadline."

I haven't seen where it was voted on in the Senate. but sometime that info is slow to make it to their website info. Saw where it was amended for funding and read tho.

Don't see anything under the Daily file. There is something under the Agenda 1 under #13 General File an 3rd Reading. Maybe I'm just blind as a bat, lol

Yeah, the Agenda is where I saw it and assumed the "do pass" referred to the Senate rubber stamping it to go to the Assembly Judiciary, which still doesn't have SB 374 on their calendar and Assembly Finance doesn't even have a meeting scheduled tomorrow. So WTF?
I hope they're not being sneaky bastards on this; but its looking like time is about up; but for tomorrow?
Check out the calendar, May 29

This is the first part of an e-mail from the administrator of the LV mmj Meetup group:

Today a few of us watched as the Senate voted on a finance amendment to allow the state to borrow money from the general fund to implement the new program.
Also, one of our behind the scenes people has spoke with the lobbyist & this is the copy of what they were told today:
Current patients will be grandfathered in their ability to grow for two years until the next legislative session when that ability sunsets. In the meantime, the legislature will set up a new subcommittee under the existing Advisory Commission on the Administration of Justice to create a study and look at the issues. Patients must be included as members of this subcommittee. This commission will cover all aspects of the program including home grows, metabolite levels, etc. We will have the better part of the next two years to work on all of the details we didn't get into this bill. At the end of that time, the study will be presented to the legislature, and they will once again take up a bill on the program. Given that Tick has a 4 year term, he will still be sitting in the Senate next session and we can work with him to get the rest of the changes that we want.

Got ya. The Senate Vote will have a vote count attached to it when it happens.
As far as what a lobbyist says, color me cynical, unless you are paying them they don't work for you and will tell you anything you want to hear. They are working for the dispensary side and are trying to smooth things over the best they can for their client to get the measure to pass. I don't want to be grandfathered in. I want to be left alone to grow as the constitution says I have a right to do. Maybe they could drive over here and grandfather this!!
Waiting for 2 years will give them enough time to change the language and definitions so that they don't have the same meanings then as they do today

And yes grandfathering is not what we were looking for. What about future patients? Why do they have to be forced to purchase if they can grow their own. Its not about whoes toes to avoid stepping on. It should be about people.. for people. Whats wrong with our world?.. for christ sake!.. something is fundamentally wrong with the entire setup! Sorry.. im just pissed.

Still has to go back to cmmity and then get revoted on? Or is it just done now?

Not done yet. It now goes to the Assembly Judiciary Committee then the Assembly Finance Committee, then to the full assembly for the final vote.

Yes, my impression was that next is Assembly Judiciary Committee, but it is not on the schedule for Thursday yet.
