Who wants to speculate what commercial growing will look like in 2013/'14?

if house bill 499 becomes law then i see more outdoor growers than pot smokers. i see barns full of weed that has no customers. i see outdoor gardens yielding multiple tons. the alpha growers will lead the pack just like now and others will pay attention and follow suit.
look at the seedbank situation. nevil's and marc emery's persecution/prosecution did not slow down the cannabis seed industry.
Q). who made money in the great gold rush?
A). the saloons, gambling hoses, hardware stores.
the most profitable growers per my view will be the growers for seeds and clones others by the millions plant every year. this will also be a boon to the organic supply industry.
the suppliers to the growers will be the beneficiaries.

Excellent discussion. As things develope, I hope you fellow Colorado folks will come back and share your thoughts.
I think the Feds are going to hold back and let the states do their thing but keep them in check a little here and there.
If I were the FEDs though.... I would be digging a mote around Colorado and Washington. The free market is going to put so much pressure on the flow to other states.... anyone with any illusions of them being able to contain it are delusional...hahaha

^^^^ IMHO this is what will get the feds involved. by now we all know those fuckers are delusional, but that won't make them any less of a pain in the ass when they get involved

^^^^ Yep.... The good thing for those of us that know what we are doing is.... there is going to be so much low hanging fruit for both local LEO and Feds that they will have plenty on their plates to keep them full. By full, I mean.... they are going to let it get out of control on purpose to really put the regulations in place. At first they will not have collected enough taxes to pay for man power and equipment to enforce and they know it. They will hold back and let it start causing enough problems to hit the news to scare the Sheeple..... then they will use that to put a death grip on it.
Same tactics... just a different game. They want that 30% tax and they will kick some ass to get it and that will include cutting out the competing markets.

Jamen Shively is looking to cash in on the green.
The former Microsoft manager told Seattle's KIRO that he's planning on getting into the "premium marijuana" business now that weed is legal in Washington.
"By creating the category of premium marijuana, we want to position it similar to a fine cognac, a fine brandy, a fine cigar," Shively told KIRO's Amy Clancy. "Something to be savored and enjoyed, in small quantities by responsible adults."
Shively told The Huffington Post that he wants his business to appeal to baby boomers -- those with disposable income who may have smoked during their college years but took a 30-year break from the bong to raise a family.
"Think of us as the Neiman Marcus of marijuana," he told HuffPost. "Now that it's legal, and they're empty nesters, it's okay to inhale."

Hate to burst bubbles but I've personally heard that urban myth about Phillip Morris and Marlboro since the early 90's and have heard older people say it's a myth from the 70's.....
That being said, I must admit my pessimism regarding these massive paradigm shifts may be lifting. Although Holder is the one who said when Obama was re-elected that the Feds had "no interest on growers who were in compliance with state law", and I know that proved to be utter bullshit,so...

It is pretty wild that emery is sitting in prison, while pot is now legal in america. Or at least it's starting to slide that way.
I wonder how legal it will be by the time he leaves prison?
