Plummeting Marijuana Prices for Growers

Mud boy doesn't like being insulted? Lol, he should try his other ride...

Mediocrity is why cigarettes are so shitty and it's commercialism that likes to low grade the product. Good cigars go for fifteen bucks each legally.

I will be able to advertise and have a webpage where people can order my seeds, weed or edibles and concentrates. Do you really think I don't really want legalization?

He'll yes I do...

And when they realize that they can make their own seeds, do you guys really think they'll give one more dime to the seed whores? Not only will prices plummet, but the whole market will collapse.

MudBoy

And where will these newbies genetic's come from?

Gotta begin with something before ya can overgrow the SEED WHORES...

How many hobby growers can breed a stable and productive medicine from their Mexican bag seeds.

How many of them can actually grasp what they need to be doing to produce varieties like the likes of which we have in circulation today?

Think the legit SEED BREEDERS are here to stay, while improving the odds anyone can grow good medicine with the help of good strains!

I've had my disagreements with mods in the past, but finally they did something I can support wholeheartedly.

Legal growing and seed distribution will probably lead to better strains. It'll become much easier for people who know what they're doing to sort through large batches of plants systematically.

Little man? When people start throwing personal insults at me, that's when I know I'm right. Must have struck a nerve. What's the matter, wallet getting a bit thin? My advice would be to get a job. You're going to need it.

touch a nerve? nah...not at all....I happen to call it like I see it and you my friend are nothing more then a little man who likes to stir up shit...

What I will say is this...I've done this for sometime now...and to be forward with the fucks who think we shouldn't make a living off this market...to that I say buck the fuck up and learn how to grow yer own if ya don't want to pay the price for fine grown herb...oh one more thing mr. mud...anyone can grow herb but to grow top notch herb it takes real fucking skill to produce it crop after crop...yeah anyone can get lucky, hell been there myself back when I was just a sprout.

So while I agree with many principals stated in this thread regarding the economic factors

My one major gripe is that I do not believe big business will kill mom and pop farms...

It will have its place when it come to the herb but the bottom line for me is that most of us have seen plenty of commercial herb and it is junk. Think mass produced greenhouse tomatoes, avocados or other edibles, then think of a small farm organically grown heirloom variety of the same food. If veggies aren't your thing remember how horribly shitty beasters or mexi-brick is.

So just like the average drinker drinks factory beer the average smoker may smoke shitty warehouse hydro the fact remains that there is ALWAYS a market for quality stuff.

even in these crappy economic times we still see the markets of certain high quality things like food, beer, herb expanding.

that being said I only grow for personal and will always keep it that way but the farmers I know work harder than almost anyone AND endure inhuman amounts of stress. I feel like they deserve to make a good living.

People as a whole will still be able to stay in the game/industry/field/whatever. Some won't. Good. A lot of people don't treat the herb with the respect it should and give it a negative stigma, and hopefully those are the types that get taken out of the equation.

That's a bit of an assumption.

Right now hard liquor is legal, but try putting up a website to sell your home-distilled whisky.

A legal cannabis market may be that tightly regulated, or more so.

I will get a license. Just remember that I have worked to create a world brand for my strains. We will survive but why do people here actually dislike growers?

Because some of us are successful and do make a living doing what we choose. Try it if you think it easy.

Moonshiners don't have licenses to make liquor because they can't afford it. I will get a loan if necessary when my business becomes a legal prospect.

I don't know how long it will take. I may not see it in this lifetime but my family will and whatever form it takes we will continue our work.

Hard work and planning helps a family secure it's future and no punk trying to make people worry can stop us. Ya think growers don't live with worries?

In a quasi legal market like now I could get life in prison for making seeds and yet here in CA clubs sell seeds openly. How can anyone be for quasi legal that makes it easy to just bust the people the cops choose? Sorta like the death penalty. Rarely given to women or even white men.

We need a more just world.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow, Outdoor fetches 1000 a pack in this area. You can get it for 800 but you run into serious quality issues. Take it 500 miles east and your looking at double that. So what an outdoor grower makes in a 6 month outdoor season, someone with nuts can make in a day. State troopers are savvy to this and people are caught regularly taking the risk. Indoor is a whole different market.

EDIT: If and when this shit goes full blown legal with fancy packaging you can forget obout these numbers. copping a lid of outs for 100 bucks from the hillbilly upriver will be over. $100 will just pay for taxes on a lid. Savvy?

Boiling your roots? Do you do that?

Possibly we can maintain two legal markets. One for recreational and one for medical users and perhaps the medical side could keep prices lower by being taxed less.

Restricting grows to a small size keeps it a cottage industry and this would be fine with me.

In a legal market prices will probably be quite high for recreational users just to keep usage limited. I really don't know how it will all go so I will go with the flow.

Perhaps I can start doing commercials or be a grow guru on tv or something. Maybe we will make a movie about the old days when pot was still illegal and growers populated the hills and suburbs. What a world eh?

Cannabis is harmless and helps many chronic health issues. Bog

I'm gonna stop holding my breath personally.

People were screaming "change!" a few years ago, what changed? If I don't purchase health insurance i'll be fined $900 on my next tax filing, that's the only change i've seen.

Legalization-Not really

Legalization-Not really

If the average person cannot grow for himself legally then this whole legalization thing is a sell out. It will benefit the government, corporations and a very very few boutique growers. These new laws sold out the real marijuana lover who just wants to have the pride, dignity and self satisfaction of taking care of himself and growing his own herb to use how he sees fit.
Since only a very few, those who are willing to bow down to all mighty government, will benefit. How can this ever be considered legal? Legal to me means I can dig a hole in my yard, plop in a seed, grow a plant, harvest it and use it how I see fit. Anything other than that is just the typical situation that prevails over everyting in the good old US of A. A lucky few will benefit and the rest of us are fucked. It is still ILLEGAL to grow in these so called legal states.
Yes the weak willed ninnies who can't or won't do anything for themselves can now go in a store in buy pot at outrageous prices and not get arrested for it. What about a guy like me who doesn't need or want anybody to grow for him and doesn't want to pay outrageouse prices for something that I could easily produce myself and at a much better quality? I guess I need to get rid of all my grow gear, cower into a store and meakly hand over my money to pay somebody to do somehting for me that I could do myself. The shame and humiliation of doing that would be too much for me. If it comes to that I'll have to just give up herb all together.
Boutique growers do you really think that corporate growers are not going to realize there is a market for pot snobs? They'll cordone off about 5-10,000 square feet of their grow ops and do boutique strains in there. You'll have big competition.
One of the few things I truly love in this life, growing for myself, is lost forever because of legalization. One of the saddest days of my life was when this plant was legalized. The terms and conditions of the legalizations were written by supposed pot lovers. The fools unwittenly wrote the terms of defeat for this war on drugs for our enemy, the government, which in essence hands the plant over to them. I guess if you are one of the few who benefits it will be great but why did you have to sell out everybody else?
It is sad times for the marijuana plant. It's now in the hands of people who don't give a shit about it but only see it as a source of revenue. Legalization, under these terms, was a sell out to not only the independant person who can grow for himself but a sell out of the plant itself and that is unforgivable.
The war on drugs is over and we lost. Not only did we lose but we wrote the terms of our defeat. You people simply do not understand how governemnt works. It is there for the benefit of itself and the big businesses that put government drones in office. Those big businesses only care about money and governemnt only cares about the money that puts them in office. When these laws were passed you handed over the marijuana plant to big business. You didn't realize you were doing that but that is exactly what you did. The war on drugs is over and we lost.
One last thing. This legalization thing is not a good first step as many people say. Once the hugh sums of money start rolling into government coffers and corporate accounts, do you really think they are ever going to let people start growing for themselves? Surely you aren't that dumb.

^ In the CO version, people can grow for themselves, but in a very limited manner, with 6 total plants, and they are not allowed to sell it or transport large amounts of it outside their home, it must remain where it was grown. They may keep up to 1 oz of cannabis with them when they're out and about, and may gift that amount to anyone over 21 they choose, but may not sell it.

Seems like this is designed to allow for self-production while still making it illegal to roam the streets dealing.

I am re-posting this, because it's my opinion on this topic...

LOL all you guys complaining about prices make me fucking laugh...I am old enough to remember when marijuana in the USA..was a commodity... quality or not...if you could get smoke that's all you cared about...

NOW everyone thinks they are POT SNOBS...I only smoke OG Kush or Bubba or GS Cookies...lol

Seriously...if you love the plant and truly love growing...it will show in the quality...

The best weed I have ever smoked...I was only able to get a 1/4 ounce and it was organically grown Jack Herrer that was a real 1 hit quitter...

Usually not always but usually quality comes in SMALL BATCHES and is considered percy..not commercial

Commercial has changed...PK's are commercial now...fucking purple kush commercial...lol...The people that are really out of business are the gangs and organized crime...how do you think they feel right now

peace
