now i have to figure out where in the hell i am gonna prep all the wool for the 5 gal buckets! i think i am gonna have to buy some more trash cans or something. i think i may have to do it in sections otherwise im gonna have to buy a shit ton of trash cans lol

this may sound dumb, but do you reuse your wool or is it one and done? i read somewhere that rockwool is reusable but idk where or who said it. i just dont know what in the hell i would do with all of it when im done lol.

hey DJM, should i be doing a wet dry cycle or is the goal consistently moist? i think for the first week i am gonna water by hand by plugging in the pump and counting the seconds til run off and then unplug. do that for a week and get an average time in seconds and then set my timer.

on the 13th it will be at 18 days veg in the 1 gal pots and ready for their transplant into the 5 gals. i may let them go a little bit longer. i saw my buddies chemmy cut he got from me under a 600 and it looks awesome! i ran my seed test run under 180w of LED so i didnt really get a true measure of what they could do but they are gonna yield like crazy it looks like. i cant wait to see what a vert hydro setup can do with them. personal records are about to get smashed on haha

hey i just wanted to thank you for this thread. my plants are growing extremely fast and healthy. the growth rate is phenomenal. im gonna let them get about a foot taller and then flip to 12/12 in the vert rings. should only be about a week at this rate and im not even running CO2 yet. i think i'll fire up the CO2 today and see how my room reacts temp and rh wise. im leaving the AC set to about 82 so it rarely kicks on and they are loving it so far.

i still have to get a few more fans for in the middle of the rings pointing upwards and a few more trash cans to soak the wool in. other than that i am about to flip and super excited.

i took them out to defoliate and lower the rez tray. they had gotten too tall and i couldnt raise my light anymore how i had it set up. theres a before and after defoliation and what they looked like 2 weeks ago

what a difference a couple days makes in this media! i am soaking all my wool for the final transplant into 5gal buckets. they will be defoliated heavily and then flipped in a couple days. the LED plants are growing fast and strong under only 180w units. LED and bulk wool is a good mix for those who are using LED's.

these shots were either from yesterday or the day before. they are bigger and badder now lol. i think they've grown about 5 inches in just a couple days. i was thinking about raising the light tonight.

its gonna get really exciting real soon haha

here are some shots from last night. my wool is draining. and i think i will be able to transplant at least 8 tonight. i may have to soak more wool for the rest i think. i think i will set up an extra ring to run my seed test plants around another 400 or 600w.

i have swtitched over to jacks/calnit and i added in some azamax to the mix. i spotted a single whitefly on a leaf last night. i hate them soooooo bad. i need them all to die before they take over. i will defoliate and spray everything with spinosad tonight. that should keep them at bay until the azamax becomes systemic.

updates! the bulk RW method is working really well. im a fan. i guess its time for me to start my own thread. i hate to clog up this one, but at the same time its good for those who are reading this to see another grower nail it on the first go! its super easy. the hardest part is prepping the wool. the rest is smooth sailing so far.

the first pic is obvious awesomeness. the second and third are before and after defoliation. i went all out and shaved 'em bare. you wont even recognize them in a week.

i plugged in my CO2 generator and that thing is HOT! i dont like it lol. it heats my room up like crazy. i think i will save it for winter time haha. for now the AC is set to 81 and and they are growing like crazy. i think im gonna get an evap cooler or make one to keep my RH up.

i have 6 501st OG and one blue dream that will go in another donut tomorrow. im also gonna go get a bunch of fans to keep the air moving around really nice in there. cant wait to see my GPW on this run and its only day one of 12/12 :)

haha i like how your very first post is one bashing my defoliation :)
it looks rather harsh, i know but they respond by explosive growth and they will be back to normal in less than a week or two. i will put up pics as they progress. i would never defoliate this heavily in soil, but in a media with a growth rate that is this fast it does wonders. wait and see. i am gonna slaughter 1 GPW and then some. these chemmy jones tear it up!

they have already bounced back almost completely. any small leaves i left are now opened up and much bigger. they all look super healthy and happy. the nutes seem to be working great and they are the cheapest you can buy, and you get them in bulk. smooth sailing so far.

i even had a couple veg pots that didnt have holes in the bottom and they got waterlogged for days and they were still super happy and healthy only slightly smaller than the others. this is a relatively forgiving media to say the least.

here's a confusingly sideways shot with lights on, one day after trimming.

um no they havent. You have stressed those plants into hell. Unless you had a spider mite issue there is no reason on gods green earth to do that to a plant. Get some plant biology books, do some reading here and learn some stuff. Just your weird cage around the light set up alone is reason to believe you have NO idea WTF you are doing. Trying new things is great but you havent learned the basics yet.

Best of luck regardless...get to reading.

Agree with Clayton( btw great name choice - woogie boogie!)

Don't look bounced back at all - you can see right through the plants.

But good luck man - I'm not hating just want you to be better :)

On a side note - if you are doing a quick run to get some bud to smoke - cool. But if this is your grow style and finalized setup - super inefficient and very messy.

I like to see my plants on a daily basis, up close. your donuts and those wires - dont look like you get to see the full picture or great access thats safe.

The ballast - I'd give it a better home than an air pot. Accidents do happen.

And I say inefficient because all that light man - it could be reflected back to the plants and you can get substantial gain and good growth on the other side - opposed to just the inside of the donut.

If this is temporary dont mind me - otherwise you gots some work to doooo before those girls start puttin on a show :)

just my 2 cents :tiphat:

Desert I think you will kill it dont worry :) I dont go that heavy on the defoliating as my current strain doesn't need it but I know it works. Maybe the people above didnt read that the photo is only 1 day after. It will take a week or so to come back but they should have a lot more bud sites. I wouldnt be surprised if your GPW is better than people doubting you.
