7 day old seedlings, do they look ok for this stage?

The Afghan Kush started out quick, it was the fastest grower for sure. However the White Widow X Big Bud has begun taking off like crazy.

I just wish the third WW X BB developer True Leaves. It just stuck with it's seedling leaves for over a week and made no progress.

I need to get a separate mini veg tent going so I can take clones. Starting from seed seems like a real pain.

Correct. Thinking about doing the same here next time. Want to take some cuts from a Blue Dream and see how that goes.

Seedling stage is a real pain. Mine always seem to stall and stop too. May try adding very weak molasses solution 0.3 EC once it is a week or so old. Maybe earlier if it springs up quick. I have a theory based on that 'RO stripping' comment above. I think my seedling problems have been cos of 'RO stripping.'

Next time will start the molasses at end of 1st week at 0.3 EC and build up from there to 0.5EC before adding 1/4 strength nutes to bring to 0.9 EC and so on as the plant grows it will always be fed cal/mag from the molasses.

Here was my last seedling set up. I reckon the cups I'm using are too small.

those look lovely. Not heard of stem rot. Suppose it is possible.Probably less likely in coco which drains so quick.

I'd just keep on going. Everything looking great.

You didnt overwater. You could water those cups 5 times a day if you wanted and you wouldnt overwater them. If they look like they droop after a water its because they probably needed more nutes. They seem to suck up the water a lot quicker when you start giving them nutes

Try not letting it dry too much in between watering. They shouldnt droop everytime you water them. They should stay pretty rigid when theyre that small

Patience I think your stressing yourself out. Feed them light keep the coco moist try to promote more roots. Once you can see roots in your drainage holes water every day full strength nutes.

do not listen to this guy, he gave horrible advice

your seedling look fine bro

seedlings usually grow slow as shit anyway

Some tap water has a higher ppm than .6 EC or 300 ppm if you are using good water at 30-50 ppm a feeding of .6 EC is where you would want to be growing under 300 watts of hid.

Update:

Day 20

View Image

Been feeding 1/2 strength nutrients with 1/4 tsp of Epsom. They are green, no issues (yet), been growing steadily. I feel they are a bit small for day 20 from sprout, but they seem really healthy. So I am not sure what could be the issues. I have been feeding every other day. Once they are larger I will increase to every day, until I switch to larger pots.

So a couple questions for everyone

- When should I turn up the lights to 400 watt? I'd wait for the plant to grow quite a lot more.

- When should I transplant? Fairly soon. I'd want to get them settled into their vegging pot so I can top/LST etc.

- When should I increase to full strength nutrients? After they have settled in to their new pot and grown more.

- When is the best time to begin topping? I'd wait for a couple more nodes to grow but others do it earlier. Once again I'd let them get settled in thei vegging pot then top after 4 sets of nodes or more.

- Wiling to take any other suggestions. Try to relax. It will come.

I will create a grow journal once I flip them into flower. However it could be another 20 or so days. I am in no rush.

Thanks for all the help. Once I have a couple grows done I will be sure to pass the knowledge forward to other newer medical growers.

My suggestions are contained within your quote. Hope that helps.

They look great!
300W is plenty. I keep mine under t5's until they are too big for those lights.
I usually transplant when the pots start drying out too fast.
What is full strength to you? Try and keep it as low as you can. 400-500 should be good for now.
Are you planning on flowering them after they have shown sex? If so, you might be topping them several times. The nodes at the bottom will all probably be pruned off though.

Those need to be transplanted bro.

Also what light schedule are you using man? Are you giving them any lights out time or you vegging 24 hour light?

By day 20 they need food man. I had the same issue using recycled soil that had nothing left in it and kept em in tiny pots too long.
