The pot diet

Ha,
I knew it.
I'm a fat fuck who used to be a road warrior with a co. credit card and later owning a restaurant, both very bad occupations if you have an epicurean bent and a distinct aversion to self denial.
I was getting some chest pain when I bent over so I finally went to the cardio guy I was supposed to see 2 years ago.
Ekg and MRI done and Dr says I have the best heart he's ever seen in a fat guy. He said I've looked at Marines a third your age who are in worse shape than you.
The only reason your chest hurts is you're squashing yer heart with all that lard. Don't do it. Losing weight would be good but you'll have to get run over by a bus to die.
What's your secret he asked...
Clean living...
I would have loved to tell him but that data collection deal they do with med records would put me on the drone list.

Well I can tell you an easy way to lose a good bit of weight, strengthen your heart, increase your endurance, improve your blood pressure, reduce stress and just generally improve your overall well being. It requires only dedication, about 1.5 to 2 hours of your time, a good location and a comfortable pair of shoes. What I am talking about is walking. Not the power walking which is just shy of jogging and makes you look like you're in a hurry to find a toilet, just regular old walking that you used to get from point A to point B and back. Now the time frame I mentioned of 1.5 - 2 hours is based on a very casual pace and going a total distance of 4-5 miles. It's best if you can do it at a place where you can accurately determine 4 miles like a track at a high school or college. Those are boring though and at least for me harder to stick with doing. The ideal thing is to find a good route from your home thru your neighborhood. That way you don't have to worry about going anywhere first you just step out the door and start. Plus if you like your neighborhood then there are things of interest you'll find such as homes where hot young women live that sometimes work on their tan in the front yard. :) Unfortunately not all neighborhoods are likeable and if that's your situation then a good alternative is a park especially one with trails for people to walk along, Lakes with walking/bike paths around them and also big shopping Malls can be good and have the advantage of not being weather dependent since it's indoors.

Anyway I did this one year from Spring up to winter and lost 75lbs (mostly in the first 3-4 months) without changing my diet or avoiding things I enjoy that are not necessarily good for someone trying to lose weight, like Reese's Peanut Butter cups for example :) I did it faithfully every day and it worked well. Not only did I lose weight but all the things doctors generally check when they do blood work on you improved and I found that if I was stressed about things I always felt better about it after my walk even if whatever was causing the stress hadn't changed. I also found it a great time to sort things out in my mind and work thru problems I might be dealing with in life.

The key or secret though is simple and based on basic truth that if your caloric intake levels stay the same but the amount of calories you burn increases then you'll either slow or reverse weight gain depending on how many calories exactly you burn vs what you consume. That secret being to find something you enjoy doing that keeps you moving and do it. You hear all the time about people who bought gym memberships, fancy home equipment like bowflex machines and treadmills (which are all fine if those are things you like working with) yet they still can't seem to lose weight. Well it's because they don't really enjoy doing those things or working with that equipment and so they don't stick to them. I've always walked around a lot, walked to school as a kid and continued to do a lot of walking as an adult even after I had a car. So the walking part wasn't a problem it was just a matter of finding a good route to walk and I'm fortunate to live in a very pleasant neighborhood with a fair share of attractive young female college students renting homes there rather then living on campus.

Walking isn't really the key either I just focus on that to make the point that it doesn't have to be some really strenuous routine. Those are fine if you can stick with it and enjoy it and if you can you'll lose more, quicker but even a thing as simple as walking can have tremendous results.

I left high school at 220, I am a healthy 170 nowadays.

My cannabis habits are at an all time high, I am toasted nearly 50-75% of my waking hours.

Outside of food and water, all I take in is cannabis and psilocybin. No alcohol, no OTC meds.

I don't smoke it unless I grew it. I don't eat it unless I prepared it freshly, so nothing that comes in a bottle or box.

Be well all.

Well, Thanks Hemp for the kindness and encouragement but another of the big reasons I'm a fat fuck is that I can barely walk at all.
Many years ago I fell from a tower and smashed my ankle to smithereens. Dr. said I'd limp the rest of my life.
I didn't want to so I didn't...Until I hit 45 then I couldn't fake it anymore. I have absolutely no cartilage in my ankle, so it's just bone grinding on bone that you can actually hear when it gets going good. That's when the pain really gets over the top.

Bitch Dr. won't cut it off and put a wheel on there. I thought a polished aluminum mag would look snazzy and be light and low maintenance but that sucker wouldn't budge. He thinks I'm crazy...Ha.

I'm not...really.

I believe this plant to be beneficial in so many ways, a really wonderful plant. Stress is a killer, and this plant will lower your stress, help your insulin levels and BP. A relaxed mind alone can help people treat themselves and others with the kindness that goes a long way to promote inner health and happiness.

It's amazing what you can do when you start with self care, most people are very poor at self care. I used to be terrible at it but then I decided that I needed to get into better shape and live better making the most out of life. Cannabis only helped make it easier, helped me to really think about my life and what I was eating and doing. Now I feel great and life is better once I started to care about how I was living. Small changes can make a BIG difference in how you feel.

Beg to differ. Pot, especially dabs, OFTEN sends my blood pressure thru the roof. Makes me feel like im being strangled. Actual pressure in my neck. Granted, im talking about high thc, super low cbd flower and oil. High cbd is totally different

Well it doesn't have to be walking, swimming and bicycle riding are also good aerobic exercise that is low impact. It doesn't have to be those either though but whatever activity that you enjoy, makes you work up a sweat and doesn't require a partner :) although what I'm eluding to is also good exercise. It's just a matter of keeping your intake exactly where it's at (assuming your weight is relatively stable) and then finding ways to burn off more calories every day then you do at present. If your caloric intake remains the same but you increase your total amount of calories burned in a day you will lose weight.

The point with walking that I'm trying to make is that it doesn't have to be some fancy workout routine you buy off of late night tv ads, it doesn't have to be some fancy hi-tech exercise equipment sold by washed up actors and models. It doesn't have to be some high priced membership to an over crowded gym. It can be free and simple just so long as you stick to it faithfully and don't allow yourself to bullshit your way out of doing it.

Since I started using MMJ for my pain, my nervous eating has dropped dramatically.

My weight has not dropped (yet). I had a hormone test recently, and my cortisol levels were through the roof. I'm treating that with some herbs and prescribed supplements (I have an ND), and expect that I'll have some results eventually.

Less pain means I can go for those long walks :)

Thanks Hemp,
Actually, I'm pretty happy being a fat fuck. The possibility of watching them stuff me in a box and making 6 poor bastards struggle to haul my fat ass to the big dirt nap gives me a perverted sense of joy.

Looks good on a Harley too, as an iconoclastic archetype.
That fat bastard on the old school ride who always has plenty of good weed.

I just started going on long walks again and feel better even after just a short amount of time. Next will be breaking out the mountain bike and doing a little riding. I'm also thinking about getting rid of my tv. That's the only real time i eat junk food; sitting in front of my tv.

How do you guys / gals fight off the munchies? :microwave:

After struggling with body image issues my whole life I'm finally at a point where I'm happy with who I am. Sure I'm trying to lose some weight, but I know it won't make me any happier. Just better at the activities I like to enjoy.

Losing weight doesn't require strenuous activity. I haven't run a timed mile since 7th grade, or any sort of manageable distance since then. I hate breaking a sweat and am extremely lazy if given a choice. Hardworking by necessity.

Who you are is who you are. There is no change. You simply become a different you in each present moment. What is above, they say, so below. Be the You on the inside. It's the one that matters and the outside simply is the physical manifestation.

Go grocery shopping when you're sober and buy healthy foods. Instead of chips and ice cream, get cherries and strawberries. Eat as much fruit as you want later on when you get the munchies. No one ever got fat from eating fruit. It doesn't take many calories to make you feel full.

I try to avoid keeping junk food in the house at all these days. If it's here, I'm going to want it at some point. Junk food is so much easier to resist when it's not here.

Right now, I'm trying the juice fast, but can't get past the 2 day mark...been trying all month long...have lost 5 lbs though by just adding 2 large servings of fruit/veggies blended. It's pretty nice waking up with an empty stomach instead of a full one. I've always been in good shape except for a few times in my life, but when I start eating the right stuff again, I notice huge differences in my appearance.

I actually thought about putting some buds in with the veggies and fruit to see how it would be..once heard that eating raw cannabis can be beneficial. Cannabis supposedly has antioxidants in it, which is very good for people.

I know when I partake, I usually feel like doing something unless it's night time. When I weighed 250+ back in 2011, I would get hella baked and hit the gym, hiking trails, kettlebells, elipticals and whatever I could get my hands on...took a few months to start seeing the results due to diet, but early 2012, it all melted off rapidly for a few months. I was always baked working out and had more energy, motivation and was so high it just was fun as hell.

Cannabis just makes you think of fun stuff to do, thus, burning more calories.

Learn to like healthier types of snacks. :) The real secret though is to be aware of yourself and your routine. If you know you'll be getting high then be sure to have your healthier snacks ready to go so you can just grab and munch. "Junk Food" I feel is more the preferred type for munchies because of the fact there's no prep work or effort required for Doritos for example, other then opening a bag. So say you had a tray of fresh vegetables and a kick ass dip already made up that you could just grab and munch, would you still pass on that in favor of Doritos?

Eh, I'd probably end up eating the Doritos with the dip. I'm better off not having Doritos anywhere near me when I get high. I know my weaknesses. If the options are the veggies and dip at home or a walk to the store to buy Doritos, I'll make the healthier choice.
