I found it "interesting" Princeton University references wiki http://www.princeton.edu/~achaney/tmve/wiki100k/docs/Plant_breeding.html

if you follow the see also links they reference these two wikis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selection_methods_in_plant_breeding_based_on_mode_of_reproduction

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_breeding

I found a much more verbose resource that covers both facets for those interested

It is a text book so it talks in plain terms to teach the concept making it easier to digest

principles of plant genetics and breeding - complete textbook 584 pages pub 2007

(i suggest you download it as it is a pdf)

some more reading for the viewing audience

Estimating additive genetic variation and heritability of phenotypic traits

quantitative genetics resources
(smart site award tons of research material)

Everyone here needs to cool their heels because this thread alone is half the mod work these days. That is not hyperbole, and this thread has been binned once or twice. We all have more in common than we do details which we disagree on. Embrace what you have in common with others and try to learn from differing opinions. If not you will find that shitting where you eat isn't productive.

What he said ^ :tiphat:

As I´ve already said, I won´t hesitate next time

rules are the same for all

Sooo keep it civil ...if you don´t want the thread binned

maybe you´ll have to start a new one...over fresh

9. Banning: People who violate IC Magazine's forum guidelines are subject to banning. Once someone has been banned from the site, we do not allow complaints from other members about it. Once banned, we are done with that individual, and no amount of complaining from other members will help. We do not justify our bans to the general membership. Those who complain about a banishment, are subject to being banned themselves.

Please read the last 2 lines of the forum TOU 9. From this point forward there will be NO more discussion but the subject of the thread.

Put this thread back on topic and keep it there.

Why is this thread still going?

We all breed.

I summed that up a long time ago.

Now go breed with yourselves if you can't find anyone willing.

I thought only hopeless drunks continued embarrasing behavior in lieu of repairing any former sanctitiy.

Sheesh.

Thanks Vonforne, lets get back to some x's and Y's,

My little project is coming along. 1 of the two plants caked, this was the plant that was a 'staminate' male with 2 pistils, the pollen sacks opened did their thing but the pistils did not take any pollen. The second Monoecious plant has separate male and female organs on the specimen as well as perfect flowers.
This plant will not die early, I have concentrated on breeding the male branch to the female branch and then I hand pollinated the perfect flowers. I have also selected to inbreed the line using some dioecious females from the same breed and I out-crossed the line to 5 different 20+ year old female plants that never show a male flower.

When the seeds are finished I will start a thread to show the differences and complications between Dioecious and Monoecious sinsemilla production.

I will display the phenotype ratios and hopefully show that the Dioecious line's are the most stable breed for the common use of sinsemilla production and further inbreeding.

Pollen from hetyerozygous females will not effect the local gene pools like pure breeding dioecious plants because inherently pollen will not travel as far.

It has been said already more pollen is produced diurnally from dioecious staminate plants. This is the reason for higher numbers of Pure staminate 'male' and pure pistillate 'female' individuals over those inter-sex phenotypes.

Pure sexes propagate much more freely and produce much more progeny making a larger impression on the overall Karyotype/Chemotype.

Selecting true breeding plants heavily scrutinized from pure parental lines will realise a population of true breeding dioecious plants who will in-turn produce a population that will override this inter-sexuality and produce dioecious progeny given the appropriate selection and technology is applied to the breeding plan.

Dioecy will be the dominant Chemovar over Sub-Dioecy in the wild or in any situation if no other inter-sex hetrozygous plants are combined in the propagation of said line in nature, or if the only possible meiosis is the test individual in a breeding plan.

Because there is no other outside genetic contribution other than that formed from tested 1-1 meiosis, it is only the interaction of the Mitochondrial DNA which is Environmentally triggered which can alter the dioecious Karyotype.

This is why after adaptation from Ruderalis the dioecious plants are more advanced and are evolving faster.

The dominant plant population will show as Sub-Dioecious in the wild, from the environment triggers if not removed by man, if left to nature we get a population of inter-sex individuals.

Pure dioecious lines only exist from the hand of Man/Breeder.
