speaking of which,my squash plants and black beans are coming up,the cantaloupes too,got the last part of my second bed planted with 2 more rows of carrots...lol,i guess i need some onions going with such a fine mexican garden going,chilis,beans,squash,tomatillos,cilantro,tomatoes.....a few corn plants so i can make some tortillas and i will be all set odelay ese!

already on my second crop of broccoli! if it makes you feel any better someone put up a pic of an astrophytum ornatum cactus planted in ground,i was totally jealous,must be in zone 9 or better to have one in ground,im still actually somewhat restricted on what i can plant outside cactus wise...not once i get the glasshouse for them....

Unc I'm bummed out and quite pissed off. The dirt I bought for the garden beds are WAY too rich and burning the fuck up out of damn near everything I've planted. I've replanted 42 pepper plants twice. Replanted beets, string beans, radishes, bunching onions, and cucumbers. Have some assorted melons and squash popping up now and the 81 tomato plants are still hanging on. If everything keeps burning up I'll just reseed with some corn. That shit loves high nitrogen anyway so it should do good and pull some of the excess out
Like I said, I'm way beyond pissed about it.

damn,thats a lot of dirt too,without adding more material to cut it down theres not much you can do,maybe some compost tea to get enough soil critters to sequester some of the excess,maybe something like adding some charcoal to the mix to absorb some of the excess since it will grab hold and then release it as it breaks down,but that would basically require a retill to mix it in enough...you may need to sow in something like a short season wheat or oats of something to temper it out,but then your just going to get shitty yields on everything....that sux alright...

Wish I had the option of a better mix. Raw materials here are hard to come by. have 3 beds 16' deep with a total of 2100sqft of garden bed space. Going to do a lot of composting during the summer to add some water retention and other goodies to the beds this fall.

im about to top dress in some stuff to the veggie beds already,the tomatoes are growing like crazy,almost time to think about caging them up,so far im pretty happy with this mix,already have another box waiting for more rootballs,not sure what to plant yet,not in a full sun area really...
