So i bought a bucket and made it light proof.
Put an airstone and an air pump.
Got it 3" under 2x23w 6500k cfls.
Air temp is 81
Rez temp is 73
RH is 30% - 40%
Bought flora series from GHE .I used the "cuttings" dose.
Ph is 5.5 - 6.2 (i have the stupid liquid meter) I tested after i put the nuts in.
Put a plant in a Roots Riot cube and stuff it in the hole on the buckets lid so it stands 1/2" over the bubbles roots are nicely over bubbles and the cube is alwayz wet.Roots where about 4" long.
So this is the Q
What is this plant suffering from ?
- N def ? Shall i use more nuts ?
- Overwatering ? Should the cube be touching the water surface ? Should a % of the roots been hanging out of the water for air , or they get air through the bubbles?and what is that % aprox ?
- Overrfert ?

Part of the problem seems to be air delivery, are your air lines close to the top of the water? What kind of diffusers are you using? I would start by getting more air flowing through the water.

I have plenty of bubbles coming out of 2 airstones as u can see in the pic.
Do u think i must lift the medium higher ?or take the water level lower ?
Do some roots have to be hanging in the air.? And how would you explain it to someone who is doin it for the first time. (that's me)
anyway thx for reply man

The water temp is a little high and that reduces the amount of dissolved O2 in the water. I would try and find a ezcloner foam puck or some of the same foam wrapped around the base of your plant. That rapid rooter will be to wet for the plant and leads to stem rot. As long as the most of the roots are in the water you will be fine the bubbles will splash the whole thing...

i dont know but i have 2 plants that look similar to yours and arent growing, the leaves look like overwatering and theres plenty of bubbles in my res and its cool to cold water, maybe its not warm enough? the other 2 plants are doing pretty fine though.

i always use half the rec. dose in the first week no matter what and ease them into full dosage. if you have an ec meter you find that the recc. dose is usually a little too hot especially for a plant that small
