Have you talked to your local power company? I know where I am as long as you upgrade your panel the power company will upgrade everything from the street pole the the panel for free. They want you to use more power. The more power you use the more money they make so they look at it as an investment. Might be worth a shot :dunno:

No I haven't spoke with the power company. Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. The power company wants to make sure their lineman doesn't get killed either. It looks like I'm shutting down for a couple weeks! ha ha... I can use the fool tubes at the other grow if everything comes together for the upgrade at the new house.

Its a good thing the other house is bumpin! I gotta pay for all this shit somehow...

Well like BH mentions replacing a panel is fck all being his is screw type old version and probably not up to code ?????
there is major up grading that needs to be done more or less complete snaking of new wire through out house and that is a reno in my books i don;t care what anyone says what you price out something specially eletrical or for homes expect double if not more to be completed
he may be lucky with some wiring but again bottom line like saying replace a panel put a 20 amp fuse where a 10 - 15 amp should be and just wait for a bon fire to take place then comes insurances burn your house down due to a grow and can guarntee you your insurance is void even if grow room didn;t cause it along with criminal charges :)

Most of the grows i seen caught is due to electrical malfunctions thats how most get caught
BH has a head on him so i am sure he will plan it properly

Without getting into too much detail about my house... the rewire doesn't intimidate me too much, as long as I don't have to bust up my plaster walls. I can handle that much, even patching the walls. Copper isn't cheap but peace of mind is priceless. Having the right tools to run 5-6k proper is gonna be nice. :D

Most of the electric work is going to be done by an electrician. I'm not playing games. If I need an inspection, I'm getting one. That's why I'm shutting down. Maybe. Assuming all my funding comes together, and it should. I mean I'm chopping every 2 weeks now. :D

Are you talking about my 4k? It's a 6x24 scrubber that a 6-8 reducer is connected to with two 8" fans pulling air through, one in the middle of the first 2 lights and last 2.... Then another 8" fan pulling at the end of it..... then there's another 8" fan on the intake, at 3/4 speed on a speed controller to make for neg pressure...

I'd just drop the $ on the split though man, by a 24k btu or something you can find them cheap..... My "ghetto" room yielded no where near my sealed room, and the sealed room consistantly and in relatively easy, non stressful way......

Unsealed yielded 5.5, in the sealed room the lowest I've hit is 7, and the most is almost 9! Easily will pay for it's self.....

N its only a 2 month investment till you get all your cash back, I know ya got the clones waiting...... Telling ya split ftw, if I could I'd put the other 3 ton in my unsealed room, just don't have any room in terms of amps, and don't want to 4 acs going.... Might look a little weird, already have three in May lol

Oh and the unsealed room stunk, I had to go buy another can70, and throw a 10" vortex to help out

Any help man just ask, ya know I got you..... I know you will excel horizontally..... It's much less stress even sogging.....

Btw how'd u like the buds? Hoping they test decent lol

Finally someone else that gets it :biggrin:. Proof is in the pudding boys and girls. 7lbs or 9, which seems like the better investment now?

I'm the proud new owner of a 36,000 btu mini-split. My other grow is shut down and I'm going to be remodeling... Hopefully the electrician makes it out this week. :dance013:

Psssh......Must spread more rep before giving it to bobble again. Congrats bro :biggrin:. After you get it installed I want you to tell me how it feels when a really fucking hot day rolls through and your room is still that perfect temp :dance013:. It's a beautiful thing, like owning two commercial grade dehumidifiers, only better :biggrin:

I'm gonna have the electrician wire the compressor when he's here, that's why I hurried up and grabbed it while it was still for sale. I've always been all in when I can afford it. I've been lucky to get good equipment at low prices.

How's this for a tree room...

6 P 6 P 6 P 6
P 1 P 1 P 1 P
6 P 6 P 6 P 6

P= plant
6= 600w lamp
1= 1kw lamp

10 plants, 10 in veg, and 4 for science and stuff. I'm currently licensed for 24, and I'm gonna do this legit if it kills me. So hard making this transition... lol...

Anyway, the 6's will become available when I shut down my other house. So I'm committed now. The lake house was a nice stepping stone... but I need better water, more reliable electricity, and 6hs a week of my life that I spend in my truck back. I might just raze the house so I don't have to pay insurance on it anymore. I would have to pay the property off first... details... Anyway, the lake house is being put to rest. Too many problems overtaken there. Time for a fresh start.

That couldn't have been an easy decision but ancient chinese proverb states a gardeners shadow makes the best fertilizer... Real it in, focus, and continue to overtake.

I only have 1 split... So I'm looking at one big room, run everything at night when its most efficient. Easier to keep night temps up in winter, and day temps down in summer. 36k btu can cool 9kw, and I've planned for 7.8kw + 200pt dehuey. The space can be any size... But currently its 7'x16' I was looking at 7'x12' grow space and 95wpsqft with CO2 enrichment.

Please ask questions and make suggestions... I have a blank pallet and commercial equipment to work with.

sounds like a good plan.. i couldn't do a remote 3hrs away.

7.8kw in a 7x10?! holy crap that's a ton of light, my veg is 5kw in a 10x10 right now and damn it's bright.

i think mixing 600s with 1ks is great for trees. getto has his 600s lower where they can get closer to the wider centers and the 1ks above where more space between the lamp and canopy is required.

when i finally go 1 plant a light on a spot, i know i'll be looking at DonJuanMatus' tree thread when it comes to planning my veg and transplant timing... his flower rooms never do anything but 12/12. immediate reset.

Yeah I just ran the math again and its more light than I thought @ 111wpsqf. I could widen the space up a bit and extend it... hmm...

edit: its supposed to be 7x12 @ 95wpsqft. I'm high.

This is pretty much exactly what I've been doing in my tree room. 16' x 11'

I ran 6400w in the below layout and got 10lbs out of 7 plants (7 Gal Smart Pots/ straight coco). I did it again, but only got around 6lbs, with several shitty burnt/locked out trees yet to be dealt with so I was never able to determine final tally.

6 P 1 P 6
P 1 P 1 P
6 P 1 P 6

P= plant
6= 600w lamp
1= 1kw lamp

...

Now I'm running the room a 3rd time with PPKs in the above layout but replacing all 600w lamps out for 1000w lamps come flower time should the 36k split handle it.

You're going to love the split... makes life much nicer never having to worry about environmental factors. Now if I could just manage some flawless ladies I'll be in heaven.

What is your game-plan for Co2.. generator?
Don't fool with any of the fancy controllers if so.. all you need is a simple setpoint controller to ON/OFF your generator to maintain setpoint.
You got Natural Gas? A NG generator on a simple controller then handles that part of the equation without any input from yourself (tank refills, etc).

Auto-pilot a grow method and you're smooth sailing.. smoking and watching.. aside from canopy support.
You going to jump in head 1st and toss some PPK trees in there? Or stick with your gravity solenoid in large smart pots FTW?
Getcha some Jacks + CalNit.. shits love, cheap, and dissolves easily.

Looking forward to seeing what you make happen.

Veg N Out

Give yourself a 5x5 space for every plant and a ft space from the walls and an aisle..cramped spaces suck and yield less..

Strongly encourage you to back the lighting down below 80wpsf max. A lot of plants will bleach out, even at those levels. Also if you are dead set on going over 50 wpsf, make sure your veg room is also at or over 50 wpsf. Most importantly be prepared for the intense growth rates this will produce, adjust you schedules accordingly :biggrin:.

If horizontal is an option, how about...

if it's 12x7, make the canopy 12x5.5ft, leaving a 1.5ft walkway.
two rows of five plants
each plant has 2.4ft x 2.75ft of space.
Put 6 Gavitas overhead overdriven to 1150w. The amount of light wasted on the walkway won't be too bad as the reflector pattern is rectangular, spreading wide over the canopy.
Given the right temps/humidity/co2, the plants will blow up under that much light hitting them from many angles. Veg them small and the branches will grow into the extra space rather than crowd each other out.

Managing trees in that small of a space per plant is going to be tough. If wanting to do so at high w/sq ft then I'd recommend using 1000s with a ballast that overdrives well. (Micromole for example) Fewer bulbs the better for easier canopy management.

Man IDK what to do about CO2... I did a bit of reading, and I kinda felt like bottled CO2 was the safest route... but all of my appliances are gas already. lol. What's the real risk? I need to get a carbon monoxide detector anyway. CO2 and the environmental controller are the last bits of kit to pick up. I haven't really put much thought into it other than shopping portable tank-less water heaters on ebay...

Without slinging shit... I am of the opinion that ebb & flow buckets will have similar results to ppks. I plan on doing both. I'm still undecided on the medium. Perlite with some screen and rocks to hold it down sounds appealing.

I just built a raised bed in my backyard and filled it will all my old coco/perlite. Bought a yard of dirt. Manure. Promix. Poop. I'm gonna have the best veggies on the block! :D

I already have 25lbs of Jack's and 25lbs of Cal/nit. My plants are super happy.

Give yourself a 5x5 space for every plant and a ft space from the walls and an aisle..cramped spaces suck and yield less..

Ok I'm thinking 12' x 20' sounds more appropriate. This makes it easier to hook up the ac anyway.

Yeah I knew that number was kind of high... But that's why I posted up, to get some opinions so I can get this room built! I'm not dead set on going over 50wpsqft, I just thought that was the rule of thumb when using CO2.

We've got it sorted now!

Intense growth rates... psh... Imagine being able to control the humidity on point because you're not exchanging the air as much as possible to drop temps... Oh wait, you know about this already... :moon:

Thanks for the suggestions... and honestly my only trouble with that is the $3k for 6 gavitas. I'm dropping at least $3k right now on this upgrade. I need to recoup some money before I go buying the best light in the industry.

I'm only buying 3 new 1kw ballasts. Then I'm waiting till I shut down the lake house in July to take out the 600's... I mean if I end up with the cash I might just buy all 1k's... but I planned on going bare bulb to save on cash. Eventually I want gavitas. $35 replacement reflector. $90 lamp. Hell yes.
