yea about this time of the year alot of folks start kicking themselves for not investing every dollar they had in the cheap winter herb.....

lots of improperly stored herbs popping up lately, alot of stuff ive seen past few weeks is either moist from being re-wet, stale and lacking smell, and nugs just beat up from being sealed and smashed into storage....

Yeah, been seeing tons of bunk meds lately...it's funny, some people I know are asking 14-17 for shit I would rate at the 1k-1200 range...but I have a friend who got 2 for 1600 the other day of gsc and royal kush bottom brand nugs, and it was over a qp heavy...

Bunk is driving price down on this end of the map too. People don't care about pgr or not knowing where their stuff comes from or what it's contaminated with. I think they're crazy but what do I know. I now have to keep it all just to keep afloat but I'm certainly not consuming it!

Up in Vancouver area bunk to average indoor commercial bud is down to about 1200 for indoor. Thats if you can find someone who wants to buy it. Lots of ppl sitting on 2-300#

i hate bunk indoors...id rather have mid grade outdooors than low grade ins...

sometimes you hit the mother lode others you are panning for crumbs in the stream....just found some really nice, nitro sealed light dep sours, OGs for 18 that look about as good as some of the indoor OG ive seen fetching 25...

Yeah word. Something about the light intensity of the sun kind of guarantees an OK smoke as long as the genetics are decent.. Good light + good genes = decent smoke every time. Sometimes I get a really crazy desire to go blow 300+ bucks on an ounce.... But then I remember the last time I spent $50 for an eighth around here and was super fucking disappointed, so I keep smoking this high grade outdoor thats been jarred up 3-4-6++ months now..... Never disappoints, ever.

I wish I lived near the city, you guys still see the good indoor. The only halfway decent indoor I ever see is either mine or another homies, anything I get retail is just straight garbage.. Huge lack of an actual top shelf around here in Cali, bummed its like this cuz I used to see 5+ months cured OG all the time back in the day. Just kept burning it back then had no idea how lucky I was til now when there aint shit worth puffing retail.

Im so glad I shut my indoors down, best decision I ever made... It was a tough decision to make at the time because Ive been doing it for so long, but now Im more happy than Ive been in a long time with that never ending burden off my shoulders, and I can focus on other things besides the cali rat race. 'When one door is closed, many more is opened'

^i feel the same way Z-ro. Im shutting down my indoor room in the next few months as well, alot of the homies were giving me shit but i explained it the same way you did, when one door closes another opens....now i can focus on more important things. another good friend of mine traded in his 20 lights for an outdoor spot this season as well....and a third homie who consulted big operations went and snagged a new outdoor spot too...

i still have six lights up at one of my outdoor spots that im thinking about cracking out a quick harvest before i start using that room to dry some of my OD herb...

crazy to see the price differ.... i remember my trips to cali....the good ole days... on my side of earth its ridiculous all od 1000-1200 a cutie all mediocre "loud" gassy smelling some packs smooth other are harsher... would love to pick thru different pcks of larry or forum or sfv... ppl in my area do not appreciate id cuz they dont ever see it u tell 4 a zip on some id boutique they look at u like u are crazy and say thats more than my ppl pay from me... this is non med red southern state... id s.l.h. and og 350-375 not vac sealed dude says he gets 44-45 all day... i wont pay it cuz i know i will eventually find the missing link

Yea over the last few years Ive paid PGE enough to almost pay off a chunk of land, I just cant justify that expense any longer. I went from 40 lights to a single 8 bulb T5 with 4 mini moms under it only. The way I see it is if you want indoor you can either do it yourself or get it from a local friend that has a hobby thing.

If you can do legal-ish grows outdoors in such an ideal climate, i dont even see a reason to grow ins? The sun is the best lightsource!
And with a greenhouse with supplemental lightning you can grow anything year round for a low energy cost..

Bro I coulda bought a house by now......once you get to the top tier of energy pricing your basically just getting raped. I too feel like I'd be way better off shutting down a couple rooms and just focus on one while dropping a tier in the energy pricing.

It's mainly residential though. If I could get into a decently priced commercial space (in my area)I think things would change drastically.

^yup. it can cost 25 grand just to upgrade a ware house to phase 3 electricity. There is places in Oakland running 300k watts. their bill is like 30k plus a month. The city of Oakland uses 3% of the United states electricity. their population is 395,817. that is only .05% of the u.s population. the power usage is equal to New york city that has 9 million people which is 3% of the u.s. population. the per capita average electricity use in Oakland is 6 times higher than in New York city.

Why don't you big time commercial growers make your own power? And I don't mean do it with big diesels. Go solar.

If you want top dollar in today's market your work has to be steps above the rest you have to have it all Bag appeal, Smell it has to knock people back when they open the bag they need to be blown away and at that point there is no back and forth about the price .. On top of all that you have to have a strain that will hit 2 plus a light..If a shop has 50 strains your strain or strains has to be way better then every strain they have... No one takes pride in there shit the market is flooded with shitty grown weed we all know that.. But I refuse to give in im not using PGR to get big nugs im using good genetics and crazy good phenos... No one wants to put in the time why work 12 hr days 7 days a week when you can work 4 hr days every couple days people in general are lazy and this is what we get a shittly lazy flooded market...After the supreme court ruling yesterday shit is going to get real interesting..JACK

^What is the point of working 12 hours a day. I would just rather make less money and run a smaller op, or hire more people for a big one. what is the point of breaking federal law if you dont enjoy life while you are doing it.

I hear you jack but there's lots of people that don't have access to the genetics. Not to mention most people on these forums don't have access to the space or grow rooms you do. These two factors play a huge role in ones success. Here We're lucky in that we have a community of people here whom we can consult with and form friendships based off our hobbies and interests. this is the underground of herb growing and if you don't know about it then its kinda easy to get stuck running clones from clubs.

I feel like The sudden surge in people that began growing only meant there was also a sudden surge in people selling shitty genetics and watering the entire gene pool down. It seemed when less people were growing 8-10 years ago it was actually easier for me to get better genetics as there werent as many around. Look at all the ogs of today. there's so many that tracking down that dank ass SFV or Tahoe or larry is a pain in the ass. Only once I started messing with people that shared the same passion for my line of work did I begin to have access to a whole "upper echelon" of genetics. Finding those people is hard but thankfully if you know where to look its alot easier.

I'd say the point is you realize you don't want to do this forever. it's all part of an exit strategy. I do see your point though hash. I used to do a lot bigger commercial ops and be busy 12 hours a day too But as I got older I realized I'd rather not have so much stress and would rather take a pay cut and have more time to spend with my lady and my pups. Now I still have a decent amount of work but I do get to enjoy the thins I like to do one daily basis as opposed to busting ass for a we months then taking a breather vacation only to come back to the same madness.

You could work 4 hrs a day and plan to do this for 20 years or you could bust ass and go balls to the wall for 10 years, cash out with let's say half a mil and retire like a king for the rest of your life on same random island if you really wanted to.

Believe me I've known quite a few immigrants that came here learned the trade, made that half a million and gone right back home with it pretty much set for the rest of their life. It really makes me question why in the fuck Im So damn set on still living here in the US? But that's a whole nother story.....
