Dri-Eaz and Santa Fe Dehumidifiers

Hey Guys, whoever has the dualXT and said its a piece of cake to install, what kind of brackets are you using? I'm planning on ordering one and want to be ready. I'm hoping a shear force style bracket into a couple of studs will do it, to hold that 133lbs, otherwise I'll probably build a 6-8'' platform just to get it off the ground, the condensate line looks awfuly low on the unit, so I'd imagine you can't just run it on the ground and it would have to be somewhat risen.

Anyone know if these commercial units have a display of the humidity and a control gauge? I was about to buy a phoenix and it doesn't have this.

Yes they have an analog knob for setting the humidistat. The water damage restoration models (phoenix line, etc) do not. better to use an environmental controller anyways.

the santa fe classic has a built in control that works very well and also has a setting where the blower runs all the time that i find handy for room circulation no humidity display tho
a green air thc-1 is a reasonable priced humidity controller that can handle the restoration model dehumidifiers

I can't decide between the santafe classic and the LGR drieze and phoenix models. They are a similar price, lots of great reviews of the classic, it doesn't have a pump so thats an extra 100 bucks, no humidity control or display on the LGR models is not great so I need a controller. Any suggestions?

You could always hang it from the ceiling and then drain to somewhere that way, if there is a drain close enough.

I have mine hanging and then running into a 32 gallon trash can. I roll that water into my nutrients when the can gets full enough.

I have a santa fe classic in my grow room and use dri eazlgr3500s in my drying rooms, if the lgr 7000 was out when I bought mine, 3 years agonow, I would get those...the 3500s are workhorses that I depend on season after season

Any more comments between a sante fe and the LGR drieze and phoenix units. They are about the same price. Do the LGR models pump out more heat then the santa fe or less heat since they are LGR and possibly more efficient?

I own 6 2800i Dri-Eaz dehues as well as 2 LGR Evolution ones from the same brand. Excellent machines, never skip a beat. Change the air filter every so often and that's about it. Really strong body as well.
The Evolution ones don't have a humidistat as its intended primarily for restoration work.
I went with Dri-Eaz because of reliability, quality and the fact that I have a service point fairly close by.

Classic Sante fe is a safe bet... I got lucky and found some Dri-eaz's on craigslist... Looks like thats the route I will be taking!

Has anyone heard anything or had any experience with the quest dehumidifier line? They are made by the same people that make the Santa fes but avertised specifically for greenhouses and grow environments with a better warranty that won't get voided if they know you used it in a grow environment. Santa Fe won't help you if they know you we're using it in a grow room..

I have a question to any body using the dri eaz that does not have a humidistat.
How exactly do you run these? Are they constantly running? Do they auto shut off at a specific rh %?

They seem the best for restorations Just wanted to see any tricks or techniques for grow related usage. I'm looking at the 1200 model..

Like to know the same thing. Wondering if the compact will handle my dense canopy under my 3kw. 5x16 ft area of dense canopy?? As of right now my 60 pint can only bring it down to 72% and making allot of heat doing it!!! Just ordered another 70 pint unit but thinking if one Santa Fe compact will do the job maybe that would save me some $$$$$ on my energy bill!!!

when my lights are on and a/c running my humidity will go down to 60%. As soon as the a/c shuts off my humidity begins to climb and reaches about 70% which at that point the a/c turns back on again. all my temp, co2 and humidity readings are read just above the canopy with my iponic controller

Absolutely LOVE this thing!!! controls everything in my room plus data logs all readings so I can view whats happening when I'm not there. Another great feature about this controller is I can check and see what my room is doing at any time with my iphone
