The Man with the Golden Voice

L

I was watching the news today and saw an awesome story about this homeless man, named Ted Williams, from Ohio who has this amazing broadcasters voice. A news anchors saw him holding a sign on the side of the road reading that he has a god given voice. Since this came out online he has received many offers for jobs with companies like the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the spokesman for Kraft. The story brought tears to my eyes. He is so grateful and deserves this break.

One thing they made sure to bring light of is that Ted has a criminal background. I am wondering if Kraft and all the other big companies are going to bypass his background check once they hire him? Does this mean the rest of us with criminal backgrounds have a chance?

I saw that.
From what I heard he was offered a job and house that he is going to accept.

Seems like a decent, forthright guy, who had some bad luck with alcohol and drugs, but is trying to turn things around now.

It's a nice, feel good story, I hope things work out for the guy.

He was the most humble man I have ever seen on the news. It showed the tent he was living in before. I am happy he has a house and job. Good Luck Ted!

Nice to see a persons quality's can out weigh their "criminal" background. Best of luck Ted, don't let your demons take it away. Peace, pot and karma. One Love:ying:

I caught the article as well, Ted seems to have hit a bit of good fortune, god bless him and hope he finds and lives his dream this go round.

it just might be that most people lie about their criminal record by omission on their applications, THAT is the offense they fire you for, lying on your app.......

a friend of mine recently applied for a job in MN which is a non mmj state, on the application it asked if she was addicted to illegal drugs like marijuana, cocaine etc. she stated on the application that 'cannabis' is NOT a drug, NOT addictive and that she DOES use it regularly. she got the job, honesty can be the best policy.

I've nothing but good thoughts for the guy and the people who offered him a chance to sort himself out.

Any jobs over there for a fella with a bronze voice and a thick Irish brogue? :)

I would smoke smoke Sweet Tooth with him most likely if he agreed to say it for my upcoming infomercial about SOL strains :canabis:

I saw that story. He has a hell of a voice. Maybe he will also do movie preview voice overs. The great late Don Lafauntaine was the last greatest movie trailer voice. You may not know the name, but you will remember the deep baritone voice, "In a world..."

As a trained singer, i got mad props for the guy. Most ppl dont know, but he is using very similar voice control techniques similar to a trained opera singer, minus allowing vibrato to take hold. Rock on man!!!!

Now whens my turn???????

LOL. You guys and gals sure are suckers for a story.

In the 2 minutes I saw this guy on TV he showed how he sniffed his first line of coke, and then explained how he moved on to crack next.

You seen this guy's teeth?

Anyone wanna make bets on how long before that first paycheck gets cracked up?

Of course he's gonna take a job and a home. What crackhead is gonna turn down free money and a place to stay?

Its like letting Michael Vick come back to play in the NFL after murdering dogs, or buying Michael Jackson's newest CD even after he molested numerous kids.

He said he was clean 2 years. You think people here would be somewhat understanding and realize everyone (mostly lol) deserves a chance.

well, I stopped paying much attention after I heard about the coke, crack, and the guy who found him gave him $20 and that was "just as thrilling" to him as all the notoriety that came later.

definately missed the part about being clean 2 years.

still think I deserve a job and a home more than that guy. probably just the dr. Evil in me (wimpy voice)
