As long as you have the smell under control at your place and no one knows it's there, there is really no reason to worry. It seems to me she's the jealous type-jealous if you are spending more time with the plants than her. A good way to end this debate with her, is to sit down and write a list of pro's and con's about having it at the house. The key is to stack it in favor of staying at your place. Having the set-up somewhere else is gonna cut into profit and/or personal smoke. If I know one thing about women, they get used to having money, and when it's not there for them to waste, they don't like that. Explain that to her, how it's gonna take quite a large chunk of money away from you guy's. Then there's the time away from her. I grow remotely right now. Somedays i have over an hour in just travel. Then gotta take care of the girls. If any issues arise and need to be dealt with that's longer away from home, and her. I live in non-med land as well. One of the biggest negatives about having a remote grow is having to travel home with all the finished product, and getting caught on the way. Nobody wants that to happen. I know you have prolly said this to her before, but this is what i do: She has things she likes to do, that interest her, and occupy her free time. So do I. It just happens where we live it's not legal yet. That doesn't mean my hobby isn't fun and exciting for me. The best part is it makes money, and saves it(don't buy pot anymore). Then for the kicker i look at her and say: Honestly how would you expect me to smoke anything i don't grow, you know how much better my shit is, she say's: yeah i know. What i'm getting at is if she really respects your passion, she'll work with ya.

FF- Welcome to my world bro. I would be more than willing to walk away from the game today, but I wouldn't be able to pay for the education I need to have the career I want... And what I'm doing to pay for my education could ruin my career... It's a fine line to walk.

Good luck. Definitely move the grow. When I have $20k, I'm buying another house. I don't feel comfortable growing at my residence. There's just too many variables.

On a positive note... Your old lady will be happier, and you'll have more privacy at the remote grow. Time to think. When you go home, you won't have to run downstairs for anything. Your time will be spent on your lady. My last gf hated the bitches... lol

It seems like a pretty common occurrence to have the wife/gf be irritated about time spent in the garden. we decided to use our rental property strictly for growing after the last tenants moved out. She still hates how much time I spend over there but she feels better having the large number of plants elsewhere. I planned on shutting my basement down entirely after thingsgot going at th rental, but I was having trouble getting clones to root and keeping them alive off site, so I still have a grow the basement too. We are trying to save as much as possible in hopes of starting a legit business that we can do together A until our state legalizes. I suggest you do what makes your wife happy and feel at ease. I'm sure you already knew that though;)

I stick my cuts in 16oz cups of perlite, water them before and after I stick the cut, I use Home Depot rooting powder, maybe hang a flourescent way high above them, or maybe just let them get indirect light from the HIDs... Anyway, it takes 2-3 weeks watering 1x a week, but I have success with this method. I'm sure you can get there more than 1x a week? My place is 3.5hs away through hell and high water.

Keeping clones at your residence AND transporting them are risky ventures. Shit that makes my anxiety go wild.

why not come join us in medville? i understand the old lady is pursuing a career there, but it may be a direction to move in.

with MMJ in almost every type of area/living situation, climate, etc you can find an area you'd like to move to, and then keep an eye out for some job opportunities out there and if everything lines up and it's meant to be then it will. maybe a couple years down the road...

really man, the stress that all that stuff brings is so detrimental. being protected by MMJ laws is a blessing.

otherwise, i hope your state is the next to go medical. good luck bro.

small update. I'm around 59 days here.. I think. Will start flushing these ladies tomorrow and chop near the end of the week/early next week. Around 65-67 days total flowering time.

Lots of problems as usual. Flushed several times mid-bloom after getting the claw. Finished this out hand watering daily at 1.0-1.2 EC. Didn't really stick with the blumats this run (no particular reason really), I've been able to hit them daily and always gave them lots of run-off trying to sort out their issues and keep them from reaching the buds.

Dropping this variety after this and going to focus on those that seem to give me better runs.

this (below) circle I allowed to get in front of the cage. The others I tried to keep behind the cage. Coincidentally the fan blowing up at this lamp failed. Not sure how long it was out. I've got a bit of foxtail, but its not too bad. A little too close to the light...and I believe my cages are a bit too small in diameter to begin with. Everything is dimmed to 600w this final week before the chop.

Really anxious to be done with this and focus on my sealed PPK project. Gonna practice on a few PPK trees while looking for a new location to keep the peace.

I installed my Mr Slim myself using the help of Evilme, a few others, and google. Looks like I'll need to figure out now how to uninstall and evacuate correctly.

Chopping it down now.. slowly but surely. I'm only able to clock a few hours each night and it is taking forever. Only managing to trim around ~2 plants a night so this will likely take me around 10-12 evenings to get it all down. I think I've got about 8 down. The ones with the backsides lit by the 5th light are beasts. Density everywhere.. from top to bottom.

Going to try to go hard tonight, but then I have to leave town for the weekend so I'll resume trimming on Monday. I really don't know how people get it done so quickly.

I'm running the smalls through a trimpro rotor, wet trimming the mids by hand as each plant comes down, and hanging the main choice colas to trim dry.... still takes me forever.

They are sitting in the dark while this lengthy process goes down. I hope this is OK. In the future I'd like to cut my big lights, but maintain the 12/12 with some florescent as the plant further cannibalizes itself during a slow death. Heard some cats in Oregon talking about this... "death rooms".. says it pushes their aroma/pungency through the roof.

Should be a killer haul. These size of these things amaze me once I get them out of the room. Will toss some action shots up tonight before I get too sticky. :bigeye:

wow FF, looks beautiful. can't wait to see some dried pics.

i recently had my harvest sitting in bins dried with sugar leaves on, on sticks for 3.5wks before i had time to have trimmers take care of it.

most amazing smelling, best tasting harvest i've had yet.

the death rooms sound really interesting..

I agree..

In a remote friend spot we had a shitty grow (too small of coco pots drying too fast with a touchy strain).. so we harvested the room entirely, de-fan'd, and hung to dry. I just didnt have the time or energy to play surgeon trying to remove all of the dead bits out of the colas.

Needless to say.. those bins are still sitting, waiting to be trimmed. The smell when I crack the lid is amazing however. best I've ever smelt from this strain.

I definitely agree that the hang dry/ dry trim is superior to anything else. My problem is actually committing to every last piece and branch after it has dried without it getting put on the back-burner.

I'm sitting on WAY too much bud at the moment. A bit unnerving . In the event of a bust I'd be hung... as a result of a bunch of crispy sub-par stuff waiting to be dealt with. I don't have the heart to pitch it (there is quality and qty hiding in there), but don't have the time/energy to pick through it either.

Focusing on taking this room down in it's entirety, and then hopefully I'll find the time to salvage what I can and make some sort of concentrate out of the rest. Any suggestions? Normally don't get into all that...which is a shame.

Could I strip everthing and de-carb in the oven.. and then vitamix blend into a powder to make capsules?

Dry ice sift?

What is my best course of action for a BUNCH of dry quality bud that has dead leaves throughout it's colas. I could have upwards of 5 lbs or thereabouts as I only got around 5.75lbs out of what should have been a 10lb room.

Mucho propers FF!

If you're looking for an exit strategy for any larf or whatever you don't feel like trimming, dry ice sift is so f*cking easy. Painfully easy.

I use a single 220 bag. Fits inside a five-gallon bucket. Buy a hunk o' dry ice (I think Meijer and Wally sell it - I get it from the neighborhood IGA, at the butcher's counter), I use about a lb per oz of trim, smash it up with a hammer, and toss the dry ice in with the dried material into the bag which is in the bucket.

(That was the runniestonnest sentence ever)

Shake shake shake

If you're thinking of capsules, I'd definitely not just capsulate the whole shit - I'd process it a bit to get rid of all that plant matter.

Personally, I might run a some butane through a good amount of that. :D 5+ lbs to whittle down? Sheeeeyit - I'll get you my addy, you get to makin' some wax, and everyone will be happy! :greenstars:

Hire a trimmer.

You've said that there's enough people who know what you do... Hire one of them. So what if they pinch some? That shits not doing you any good sitting there in a bin, financially or legally.

Just weigh it before you give it to them, have them keep the stems and leaves separated... Weigh the buds, and weigh the trim. It should come close to the original weight. Pay the trimmer.

Anyway... That's my plan... If its a big enough trim party you could rent a room or a house somewhere...

Interesting thought on the "death room". I wonder what the difference is with just throwing them in the dark... b/c the plants will maintain their circadian rhythm even w/o the lights coming on... So I think the difference would be for how long the plants are going to be in the "death room". I say hire a trim team to cut that shit down, and replant sooner.

Some harvest photos.

This is the last run of this circles room. Might fire this back up next winter if I'm still growing here, but for now I'm going to take it easy with my 7 PPK trees and try to enjoy the summer.

Congrats on the Harvest! I really have been thinking about going vert myself, in non-med state but I believe the same prob you ran into will haunt me. How to trim and get rid of #'s all by myself while maintaining legit job and wifey duty. Props to you man and thanks for sharing your grow!

Hey FF long time no talk, Ive got my stuff rolling and currently going through a little of the same wifey problems as yourself. I would too also like to see some pics of your final harvest.
