organics "works" Rockwool from what i have seen. maybe not as good as organics in coco or a Soil-Less Mix but it sure didn't fail....

my clones are kicking some ass. they are chemmy jones for the most part and a couple POG(skunk x hindu kush). both are stretchy and should do well in the vert cages.

ive soaked the rockwool in low ph'd water for almost 2 days. gonna drain it tonight for a few hours and then transplant. gonna let them go at least 3 weeks as directed above, possibly longer. im gonna need big plants to fill the cages. should be epic, well at least by my humble standards lol.

the solo cup plants are seed plants im starting to test some genetics. there is one humboldt seed org. blue dream fem, and 6 rare dankness 501st OG. right now im at 6 out of 7 females and waiting on the last to show sex but im leaning towards female since its taking this long to show. ive grown BD before and the leaves look fatter than i remember but hopefully it turns out to be good. its a bomb cross with lots of good genes in the pool so i'll hope for the best.

so i just want to be clear with everyone k...

you guys actually used the greased up insulatiuon from home depot? the fiber wool insulation? i have always thought of using it, but its treated with oils. and it works great with 50/50 absorbant vs insulation?

wow....no... haha. its pretty much the same shit but its made by grodan and comes in giant 45 lb bales. the bales expand like crazy! its not nearly as processed and clean as the regular rockwool. there are lots of little black rock things in it and the ph is really high thats why we have to soak in ph'd nutes of about 3.0 for a couple days. the acid has time to neutralize the low ph of all the lime in the rockwool. i checked the water after a few minutes and it had already climbed to 4.0 and rising. mine are going into their new homes in a few minutes :)

the question is, you guys have grown with non absorbant with great success? or was it 50/50 mix with grodan?

Well.....not sure how I missed this thread DJM , but took the time to read it all and absorb it before bed last nite and show respect today for a solid perpetual gameplan that produces close to 100 lbs per yr and only pulls 4 plants a month once all ducks are in a row and the perpetual thingy kicks in....and...that`s just the 8 plant 8K room right ?.......

Whole nuther room pumpin out dank as well with 4K .....gotta love attention to detail and solid setups based on quality AND quantity......

Shows that "Old Head" experience ......Sorry to hear bout Dynamite getting banned from over there....always liked and respected his work......now....

If yas venture down the rabbit hole with blumat`s that most all my oldhead growbro`s have moved to in the last few yrs , get the "Maxi`s" and yas might need multiples per each container to provide enough moisture to a rootmass that size Bro......that said....

If yas tried 1-4 plant setup with and elevated rez above a main rez that tops it off with an overflow to keep solution levels at max to provide constant down pressure on the cone sensors , it would go a long way in dialin the proper moisture level required to keep the flock "moist" instead of "wet".....but....

Not sure you`ll receive the same benefits from the blumats as your DTW once a day feed cuz there`s definitely no "drying out" period with the blumats DJM......and......

Rootmass development might not be as explosive as your dialed once a day feed sequences.....that said......As you spoke earlier about tryin the EWC tea with the flock`s the only wayta find out if it works , how many blumat maxi`s to keep rootzone health at optimum is yet to be determined.......just gotta do it and see....

My left coast caregivers at the med sites run 1-2 maxi`s in their brand of coco mixtures and or highly aerated soiless mixes in # 5 and # 7 smartpots , and easily pull 1 lb`ers perpetually every 3-4 weeks strain dependent , but it`s all relative....

6 week veg for 1 lb`ers or double it for 2 + lb`ers....anyways....Thanks for your time and knowledge.....and....

All should take notice that it don`t matter how long yas veg as long as it`s perpetually set up to overlap and finally give yas at least 12 crops per yr FTW....

Respect Bro.....

Peace......DHF......:ying:.....

hey DJM, ive got 2 dozen blumats left over from my coco days. maybe i will test run a few smaller pots and see how they do. ive got a ton of shit going on with setting up the new room and breaking down the old one but i'll see what i can do.

ps, i fucking hate all the rockwool splinters lol. my hands are full of tiny shards of rockwool fibers. i made the mistake of mixing my trash can full with my arms haha. big no no :)

Im no dhf but as far as air in the blumat lines couldnt you keep the air stone on the other side of the rez or maybe a few inches off the bottom.

Just liketa give credit where credit`s due Bro......Your perpetual setup with 12 week veg is the most extreme version I`ve ever seen bar none.....I`m just sayin....

1 plant under each 1KW parabolic is awesome , and major respect is due considering no air-cooling with environment handled.........

Just goes to show that where there`s a will , there`s a way if yas got a good solid knowledge of that `ol staggered planting schedule.....then it`s.......

Simple....babyshit.......

Thanks for the insight and gameplan DJM....Ya`ll take notice and make shit happen.....

Respect my buddy....and.....Blumat setups are available .....with......upgrades...

Peace.....DHF.....:ying:......

Edit:.....Had fish and shrimp on the grill yesterday , and was payin more attention to them than your last post so , sorry Bro but......

I ran smaller powerhead pumps just to keep solution stirred up and keep any precipitation/shit fallin outta suspension causing sediment buildup on rez bottoms , and they never fucked with my PH once all was mixed homogenously and buffered.....

Several upgrades for blumats , so holler when yas get ready and we`ll figure it out DJM......

i have never run airstones with my blumats. i run my water line in a loop and used the kent systems 3/32 barbs with the blumat spaghetti line. work like a charm. if anything u could put a recirc pump in your res. some people do auto top off which is plenty of aeration. drip clean is your friend with blumats. with coco and blumats i had some of the healthiest plants ever. i once left for a week on vacation and was shitting bricks thinking i would come home to a room of death but they were leaves to the light and super happy.

i think now that i have felt the consistency of the rockwool, that if its lightly packed around the cone enough it should work. i will try and set up my mini test run and see. all i have are regular size blumats so i can only veg with them.

everything is looking super healthy so far. theyre loving their new media. still running veg + bloom on the nutes but only for veg. i will switch over to jacks/calnit when i flower with the big res. vegging out some 501st OG and one blue dream fem under LED. they will soon be going in a mini vert donut of their own to test out which phenotypes are keepers. hopefully i will get one of each. i would like to have a couple keepers on deck at all times. the bigger ones will veg about 3 more weeks and the LED will go for about 1 more week before flip

hey don jaun, ill take some pics soon..

i personally like rooting in coco cups more than anything else.. dont love cubes at all... floc in cups is ok but too heat sensitive for my taste ( had to turn off the mat ) I put some cuts in coco a week after the floc and all are rooted.. the straight into 1 gal pots o wool... didnt water for about a week.. same as when i went into the 5's no water for a week... and bam roots in the bottom..

in flower the girls are in 3 gal pots with mini croutons ewc and gauno... lookin top notch.. maybe best yet w that strain but... dammm does it dry quick!

only downsides to the floc are: its heavy when wet.. and prepping it sucks!

hey DJM somebody said they were "china hat" hoods. I was under the impression they are vertizontal. It makes sense if they are vertical though, because how you were comparing to vert.

Have you ever tried the vertizontal? or vise versa? I also use big hoods almost exclusively, the only time I don't is if I'm low on watts/sq ft or if I'm using tubes, but I wanna try the magnums with the tubes in them.

Awesome info BTW
