neither exdo or high times are responsible for areas outside of the event area...people shouldn't be littering in the first place, IMO...props to the locals that took care of the problem area...it was open lot and anyone could have helped with the clean up.
.
disagree
the lot that was left trashed was the recreating area and the red card medicating outdoor area. it was very much part of the "EVENT AREA" it was def a shortcoming on one parties behalf, the venue or hightimes mag.
one way or the other, it's cleaned up now and old news.

EDIT:

this is the lot that was left trashed:

I guess there were a lot of peeps who never went camping. Didn't seem to know the meaning of 'pack it in, pack it out'.

In the mountains that kind of thing, just isn't accepted.

Kind of looks like the vendors didn't even take their own with them?

No matter whose responsibility it is/was. That's just pitiful. NOT invited to my hood!

they wont get away w repealing a constitutional amendment, why do u think we passed an amendment instead of passing a LAW?
this shit is hardwired into Colorado, lawmakers fighting the change will be overwhelmed. There is a strong PRO-cannabis lobby of people who have taken it upon themselves without pay to be sure the fn crooks & scammers in gov't dont mis-represent the WILL OF THE PEOPLE, and try to "repeal" an constitutional amendment.

This kind of activity is/was, to be expected. These are the same crowd who still believe the old propaganda that the Federal Government put out in the 40s, 50s, and later....

The Collective of the Ex DEA heads are all about big taxes, and big government. They continue to generate fear in the minds of all who are open to their scare tactics. They are part of the, 'There ot'ta be a law' and jail time crowd. These kind of 'concerned' citizens, are the reason we have so Many people in jail. I suspect that if you scratch their financial surface, you'll find that they are funded by the Privately Owned Prisons crowd. Some religious 'leaders' are most certainly involved as well, as they tend to view this as a 'morality' issue, and want to maintain control of the masses.

Shades of the old, failed, USSR, and it's Siberian Death sentences.

The best thing we can do is maintain respectable appearances, and continue to contribute to our communities in a visible way. Laugh at the detractors with friends, relatives, and neighbors who may be susceptible to the continued propaganda.

Amendment 64 was palatable to the majority of voters in 2012. Let's continue in our efforts to make our position even more reputable than it was then. If we 'maintain' properly it will then be an even more resounding defeat for them, should they bring it to the ballot.

We should take every opportunity to speak with our state (and national), elected officials. Make sure you, are registered to vote, and do so. We are in the minority, but we Can be a 'Swing Vote', segment as well. Politicians pay Way more attention to Swing voters than they do to the masses, historically speaking.

This 'respectable conduct', is especially valuable now that '64', is in place.

my thought was that lawmakers would attempt to *repleal* through exorbitant taxes. Most recent #'s I heard was 30% to be passed on to consumers. When I see $40 1/8ths I am already heading for the local hydro store to spend it more efficiently. So are we talking in the neighborhood of $52 1/8ths?

letters to lawmakers is a good idea; but what we really need is a *professional* well funded lobby organization on a similar level as those that work for: NRA, alcohol, tobacco, military, oil, finance, pharma, agriculture, pro Israel, AARP. It is unfortunate that this is the *democracy* we live in.

^^ this is true there is a thread about some Ore dudes trying to become players in the political/lobby scene...I wish them best but forem but in reality unless they are professionals with $$$ it's a real hard battle.. If you look close in the 90's Hugh Hefner was a massive contributor that helped fund the ballots that got passed for mmj- without big dolla's shit doesn't move very fast in the US.. I truly believe it was money that prompted the movement in CO and in WA..Taxes baby!

i dont doubt that revenue had ( a very large ) something to do with it.... but i think the great motivator for the people that VOTED FOR a64 was FREEDOM.
