So I got my seed project moved inside and been giving a little TLC to the plants. They still aren't pretty, but they are definitely loving the light and warmer temps. I lost several branches that were starting to mold, but now they seem to be stabilized and doing well.. putting out new growth and starting to see early seed development. I don't know if it was that smart to just have the males in there like that, I'll have to really clean things good when done (theres pollen everywhere). I'll probly pull the males out after another week or two...

The C99's are curing and several turned out pretty good.. I did a dedicated thread in the mosca forum and if anyone wants to read smoke reports or see some more bud shots from those they are over here...

my c99 bx1 dedicated thread

I think my next thing might be to grow out a few more seeds that I have previously crossed... I have some Headband X C99 (male), Purple Kush X C99 (male), and Maui Waui X C99 (male) seeds to try..

Open pollination with the fans on, everything must be coated with it.

Keep posting your work with your crosses.

update

Been busy it seems...

Things slowed down a bit in the grow room, but I was able to get in and check things out. My veg cab is looking good, a bit overgrown.. had to raise the lights more.. I need to get around to taking some cuts, just haven't really had time. These are each of the 5 c99 bx1 girls I just grew out and two keepers from previous.. would make for some great outdoor starts! maybe a mini spring outdoor light dep?? that could be fun...

My seed plants that I brought inside are doing so much better.. they were beaten up pretty bad, and they aren't pristine but they are much happier and loaded with seeds :)

a little upgrade

a little upgrade

Finally got some time to get in and do a little upkeep.. Since my space is small, i take cuts and replace keepers to try and keep them fresh.. So I was able to get some cuts taken... the tray and humidity dome is new.. i like it! Also gave everything else a pretty good haircut.

I also decided I would break down and get a t5 set up for the veg cab :) I've been thinking about it for a long time and the shop had one at a "fair" price... I just have 2 of the bulbs running, I swear it seems its just a bright as a pair of 10 yr old shoplite ballasts...

My compost pile this year is not hot like the one i had last year... didn't have enough grass to get it hot.. but thats not turning out to be a bad thing. It sits around 60 degrees, and the worms love it. They are thick through the whole thing, reproducing, loving life. The pile is about 50% cow manure, 30% leaves, 10% grass clips, 10% previous compost. Just gonna turn into one big heap of vermicompost!

Got my seed project pretty much wrapped up, and it turned out to be good. It wasn't the prettiest, but for the conditions the plants were in at the beginning they finished out really good. I probably got at least a couple hundred viable seeds from the 4 different plant combos. There were varying amounts of immature and dud seeds from probably 30-70% depending on the plant. But, a probably net thousand or two seeds of some mainly sativa/hybrid and pretty nice weed is fine with me

I actually thought about trying to separate out the viable ones but then after about 20 minutes decided I didn't want to spend my afternoon on it. So when I'm rdy I can just pick some out that I want.

Otherwise its kind of slowed down a bit in the grow room... for the MJ at least. My last round of cuts just didn't root well... most of them ended up dying I'm kind of embarrased to say! A friend picked up a "Jedi Kush" clone from the local dispensary, to try an indica as I really don't have any. That was supposedly the best Indica they had at the time... I just laugh to myself about the names, but maybe it will turn out good? Otherwise have started doing some veggie stuff.

I had a couple volunteer tomato plants come up in my flower cab right next to the seeding MJ Plants. I decided to keep a couple going just for fun, one got pretty huge in a little 6" square pot and I just transplanted it and put it outside. Already has tomatos, looks maybe like minis...

More like thousands of beans! Everything is looking great.

thanks, yah i have kinda dialed things down a bit for now but I hope to do a plant or two outside later this summer and fall. Maybe find a couple new girls from some of the seeds! someday I'll have a place I can do things a bit bigger but at least I'm getting my techniques down :)

thanks sour, your stuff is looking real nice, I'll have to check out ur thread for some updates.. imo your stuff has improved quite a bit it looks like, nice job! I can see how the seed business could be pretty profitable. 1 not even that big plant if fully pollinated and used for seed production can produce a heck of a lot of seeds! At even $1 a piece let alone $5 seeds seem like they could be worth more than the final product? pretty interesting.. especially when your stoned :)

So yah things are kinda slow in the weed dept, just kinda maintaining a few keepers.. doing more veggie and garden stuff tho..

One of my compost bins is about done, the worms have done a great job for sure! I screened some out, and ammended a veggie bed. Did an ACT, 5 gal diluted about 1/2 does everything i need.

This is what I use in my tea. From info that I absorbed through IC and other mentioned websites. My air diffuser puts out quite a bit of air and its pretty turbulent but I never get foam on my teas. They always smell alright tho and I know the EWC going into it is about as good as it gets so I think it probably is working all right. :)

start of summer

start of summer

Well got a little bit going again... Finally able to get my Jedi Kush outside, which from what i see is something like "Death Star (East Coast Sour Diesel x Sensi Star) X SFV OG Kush", so it should be pretty good?

Have had the cut inside for the past 2 and a half months under weaker flourescents. It was growing not too bad actually, but now I'm able to get her outside and a bit more happy! Gradually transitioned her to the full sun over a week or so, but some of the older leaves are still crisping up a bit. But all the new growth is looking great so in a week or two I think she'll be looking just fine.

Its in a 10 gal smart pot, I almost put it in a 20 but I really do need to keep the size managed.. plus I like being able to move it if i need to. I was gonna put it on a pallet but decided i didn't need to with just a 10g. I refreshed my recycled soil with some new peat, perlite, and quite a bit of compost/worm castings. Ammended with happy frog 7-4-5, some soft rock phosphate and should be good to go!

I have a couple fresh cuts of the c99-bx1 that I would like to put out maybe around july 15th and just keep them smaller too so hopefully that works out too.

After about a week of 108-116 temps, mid 90s seem to suit the jedi just fine! I have plywood/cardboard shading on the smart pot so the sun doesn't directly bake it. Still the intense sun and heat did crisp a few more leaf tips, but otherwise it has kept on growing and getting more adapted to the sun.

These are two phenos of the c99-bx1s... I'm gonna harden them off over the next week or so then put them out too. I really enjoy these, one in particular, so it will be fun to try them outdoors.

Still looking good! How often did you have to water that Jedi in the heat? Hrmm... should probably give my plants a check soon.

Hey thanks wildgrow.. I gave it some water everyday during the heat wave, now I'm back to every couple days or so. It hasn't filled up the pot with roots yet so I don't have to water too much, I would think in a few weeks i'll need to water everyday for sure. happy growing i'll have to check out what you have going on!

Thanks I appreciate it! You're right my garage is way too hot to do anything of quality in the summer. So I just try to keep my keepers going and keep them as cool as I can through the summer under shop lights.

My plan for fall is gonna be to pop and sex some of the seeds i've made then do a late fall/winter run of some new ladies. I have quite a little collection of c99-bx1 (f2?, i guess? ones i made from males/females out of my pack) and then c99 x headband, c99x purple kush, c99 x maui waui. I'm looking forward to trying that... thx for checking in, you look like you have quite a bit of cool stuff going on, nice!

Howdy gb, just hangin' out in the back yard. My gf says it looks like our back yard, lol. My plant is a little smaller, however. Will read through your thread, seem to be a composter after my own heart!

those are some high temps! fellow nevadan?

Northern CA in the central valley, yah its pretty typical for us to get some pretty hot temps although it usually cools off at night more than it did during that last hot streak. One night we only got down to the upper 80s, i guess we got a short taste of southern NV desert weather! glad its not like that all the time here

Hey thx for stopping by! yes i've got into the whole composting and reusing/rebuilding soil thing. I've found its simplified the overall growing routine and i don't have as many variables or bottles to be worrying about. I have plenty of primo compost/vermicompost to be working with and it definitely helps to keep the plants happy.

What are you growing outside? Is it in one of the grows in your sig? I'll have to check it out!

Hello Mr. Dedicated Grower!

How nice that you grow not only cannabis!
If we grew only pot, we would have nothing to eat ! ! !

Personally, I also grow green beans ;)

I wish you good luck and thanks a lot for the really good vibes you're sharing with us!

Cheers!
