177w CFL 12/12 from seed

Hey guys, I started a little indoor grow to keep me occupied while I'm waiting for the outdoor season to start, I thought I would share it with you guys. :tiphat: I'm busier nowadays so I'm going for a low maintence grow. I've never done a full indoor grow to harvest, but I have a few outdoors under my belt and I feel it's time I give it a try.
For lighting I have a 125w dual spectrum (2700k, 6400k), a 19w (2700k), and a 33w (also 2700k) cfl. Mostly flowering spectrum, but they seem to like it. The plants are 12/12 from seed as the title states.
The soil is Promix BX and a bit of horse compost. I'll be fertilizing lightly in veg with what I have on hand, and I'll probably be using Earth Juice Bloom for flower. The plants have an area of approximately 24"x12"x18" to grow in. They are all in the same 3 gal container.
Here are the plants. They sprouted around Feb 20th and are about 18 days old. All feminized.

Bottom Left: White Widow(Seedsman Seeds)
Top Right: Skunk #1 (Seedsman Seeds)
Bottom Right: Critical Kush (Barney's Farm)

The widow is a bit of a runt, but hopefully she'll pick up speed soon. I got the 125w a week ago and the temps have been running a bit high, the highest they've gone is 90, and I've managed to get it down to 85. The plants haven't seemed to mind. I only have one fan for exhaust, so I've got another on the way and that should solve my problem.

Thanks for checking out my grow, guys. I'll update once a week as long as I don't get too busy.

yah what they said....
yah they look good but deff get thouse (dead leafs on the dirty ground) OFF and in the trash can out side as soon as possable. bugs bugs. I would get coco husks to put on top or even perlite works good.

I looked through the mulch thread (it had been a long time) and I've come up with a more diverse mulch that should be much better. No insect damage whatsoever at this point, thanks for the warning though guys. Plants are doing well, growth is picking up. There are pistils showing on the Skunk and Critical Kush, none that I can see on the other 2 yet.

Hey hey RS nice little setup you got there.
Any worries on temp/ventilation and/or odour issues?

Fingers crossed for your grow. How much time did they need to start showing pistils?

Best of luck.
Peace :joint:

Hello NKOTS, I just recieved my new fan, it's small, but it moves a lot of air. I only got an hour or so before the lights went off to check, but the temps were down to 77 with the lights on. They are starting to put off a bit of a funk :) mostly the CK. They are in a closet in a room that no one ever goes near, and it vents outside. I've dried several ounces without any problems in this room from my outdoor. I will invest in a carbon filter if it comes to it. It was probably 18-20 days to show sex.

They didn't have any direct airflow from the other fan, but the new one fixes that. I've come up with a more diverse mulch, following the Mulch, just do it thread. Took out nearly all the leaves, although they didn't seem to be suffering any problems, Only two blemishes I believe are from lights (they almost grow into them sometimes).

Here they are, only 4 days later, they are growing more visibly each day.

Some mild LST on these girls, just to make use of space. I checked and the Five-O is showing pistils. Nothing on the WW yet. She's growing a little better now, she was the last to sprout if I recall correctly, maybe that's one reason why she's a bit behind the others. That's all for now, thanks for the support :tiphat:

All the plants have begun to bud, that was fast

About a week ago, the room outside of the cab began to reek (luckily it didn't go any farther than that). Last couple days the smell died down again, for whatever reason. Either way, I have a carbon filter on the way, I'm this far, so I might as well do this right. Got some Earth Juice for flower ferts on the way as well. I worked on the cab to make it more lightproof as well.

Here they are:

I LST'd them a bit more, I would have liked to get it done earlier, but hopefully they won't mind too much. Critical Kush is the farthest along, not by too much. White widow is only going to be one small bud, but I'll let her grow out. The 5-0 is the biggest, according to the breeder, she's fast flowering and a good yielder. We'll see :)

Thanks for stopping by my thread!

Hello Icmag.

I've installed the carbon filter and it's helping, but I may need to get a better fan, it's much bigger than I expected. I'm still getting the temps dialed in as well. The only other issue is bulbs touching plants, they really shoot up sometimes. You can see some of the spots in the pics.

I gave them their first feeding of Earth Juice at mild strength about 2 days ago. There was a noticeable jump in growth today. The Five - O is the biggest most certainly, those four tops above the Critical Kush are all hers.

That's all for today :tiphat:

omg rosetta, what a great update!
especially the CK looks promising  but the others are good too.

why do you keep letting them touch the bulbs? :bashhead:

stay safe :smoke:

Thanks NKOTS!
The CK seems just a few days ahead of the others, but she's also the most indica leaning of the bunch, so it could have something to with that.
I try to keep my CFLs close to the plants, and sometimes they'll have a bit of a growth spurt and a few leaves will get singed. Also, between the carbon filter and the big 125w, it's a bit crowded in the upper part of the cab, which isn't making it easier, but as long as they don't stretch too much more everything should be peachy. I'm definitely giving the next cab a bit more thought and planning.

Looking good RS! i use as well a single container in my flo cab and happy with the results so far. Keep us updated.

Peace S

Thanks guys!
Yeah sgapetti, I like the single container, too, I feel it maximizes root space a bit better, and it fits the cab almost perfectly. The girls don't seem to mind sharing.

I got a ducting fan, it works great and my temps are high 70's now. Carbon filter is working well as far as I can tell. They got their second feeding a few days ago, went a little heavier, but the Earth Juice is supposed to be non-burning. I was pulling the girls out of the cab today, and the rock that I LST'd the skunk with fell out of the container. She got bent pretty far over before I was able to help her. When I inspected her stem I saw no bends or folds, so hopefully she will pull through without much stress.

You can't see the White Widow due to the camera angle and some LST I did, she's hiding under some of the Five-O's tops.

The pink stuff is plastic for training if you're wondering.

So I had a power outtage yesterday. I only got to the timer after the lights went off for the day. Apparently it was only half an hour. I tweaked it a little bit, but I'm leaving it and crossing my fingers for the most part. They may have gotten like and extra half hour of light that day. Anyone know if this will really stress them out? They seem fine right now, and I guess the only real way to tell is to wait and see.

Yep, wait and see but i would bet it won't harm them unless this situation repeats.
Looking good and so healthy :)

Hello everyone. There were a few unseasonably hot days and the cab got way too hot, high 90's, but I was able to fix my fan set up a bit and brought all the temps down, and now the weather is back to normal, it's mid 70's in the cab now. I don't believe they suffered any stress, in fact they seemed to like it. I watered on the first hot day, and the soil remained cool throughout the high temps. I've heard fan leaves have a big role in plant temperature regulation, and I only defoliate when I feel it's necessary, so that may have something to do with it.

This update is more picture heavy.

Five - O Top, I have a feeling she will be the biggest yielder. She got real big for a 12/12 from seed plant:
