Actually, complaining of the situation is quite typical for Bulgarians :) Among the most unhappy people in the world, according to statistics. If Ina had visited a third world country, she wouldn't think so low of our society :)

Sat X RB:if there were more old farts like you around here it will be a lot more interesting:)What is that thing, why are you talking about cancer?!

Dark thoughts ... sullen-ness ... an attitude of: my glass is always half EMPTY ... resentment ...

I mean: repressing ANGER in the mind ... will make cancer in the body.

Anger is STRESS. Stress makes cancer.

(thanks for thinking kindly of me. I will try to behave like your words.)

on the other hand ... if Ina visited an affluent country like ours ... she might never want to go home!

I'm not offering BG chicks here:)you can go in Slanchev briag(Sunny beach)-lots of drugs, bitches and cheap alcohol.
Yoss 33:not complaining, just explaining the situation here. Yes of course i know it can be worst like to be women in the Middle east for example:) I'm just trying to say it is strange for country with so many resources, woods, fresh and mineral water, herbs and nice conditions for growing bio products, tourism and so many places for sight seeing to be poor.

no fracking ... yet. tho' we have some fuckups from coal mining ('accidents' of course).

a Federal government inquiry into the effects of fracking on water tables will begin soon.

so, soon we will find out how green our Federal government is.

this has upset the government of the State I live in because at present this state's politicians are mining mad and don't want 'environmental factors' to interfere with their vision of an affluent future for the people of this State.

(now, do you see how the state government doesn't want it for themselves? that's right. deciding to frack is not to make their OWN careers succesful ... or so that they feel good about doing something 'productive'. no. they want fracking because it will be good for US the people! isn't that nice of our state politicians? they are sure to go to heaven when they die.)

cheers!

Yes, it's really a pity but these blockheads are only the visible part of the problem. It is sad that judges, public prosecutors, high-ranking policemen and politicians or those who have to fight with the organized crime are in fact the mafia bosses. These same people in the established democracies such as in the USA, UK, Germany, Canada, etc., have effective sentences while in Bulgaria they are not even brought before court - moreover, they occupy high-ranking positions. What is interesting here is why the international organizations tolerate these brutal criminals, knowing that the police and the judicial system in this country are just a farce? For 23 years there hasn't been convicted a single gangster - this is scandalous!

"why the international organizations tolerate these brutal criminals, knowing that the police and the judicial system in this country are just a farce?" may be because they are the same worldwide and those organizations are farce too :)Something like those World climate change conferences that never decide nothing. Most of us think that outside of the country it is some kind of heaven:)

The international organizations and companies are used to dealing with corrupt societies. They won't say "we will not deal with these officials because we know they are corrupt", because these officials are the legally chosen by the society (via democratic elections) and so it's the society that is corrupt and this corruption is also visible on the highest levels. Foreign companies are here to make money, not to impose moral values. Foreign politicians are the same - they aim at having good relations with Bulgarian officials, and whoever these are they are the ones that the 7 million Bulgarians chose to be represented by.

These are philosophic blablabla, I'm sick of people blaming the society because it is the easiest way. We had strikes in 1990, we had strikes in 1997, we are having strikes now, people are burning themselves as a sign of protest, they burn like torches, so what: the same old faces are there; what do you suggest: that we should pick up the guns and kill each other like savages from the middle ages? We are an ancient European nation and solve our problems with strikes and not with bloody armed affrays. It is clear why: because communist families, with the help of international criminal unions have been entangled in the state structure for 70 years and nothing can defeat them, unless Europol and Interpol interfere. But we don't have petrol here and they won't come to help just like that. And the so called international organizations with their inactivity suborn us to civil war; if this is the goal then we are very close to it.
