Thanks guys, I defoiliate in veg, and in flower both.I have been doing it for quite awhile now. I guess what I'm asking is what to do with all the extra growth that will make a lot of larf. I've cut some off and done some thinning. Should the plants be flat against my wall or should I let them grow towards the light? Also my deadhead og is leafy bitch - all of her clones, always. I take leaves off on the regular in veg, but what about the first couple weeks,of flower, I'm a firm believer in not raping them to death, but with some strains it almost seems nessesary in order to have a bunch of good bud sites, and I'm afraid if I don't I will not have an even sideways canopy. I know now I put to many plants in to flower as others have said. So now I have to deal with it as best I can

ive gotta disagree with you there.

take a healthy plant and pull all leaves off at once and see what happens. that is an extreme example.
but if you take 50% of the leaves off then are you creating 50% of that stress?
i suggest being careful. most people suggest taking 10%-30% of leaves off at once : i would steer nearer the 10%

I would think Strain/phenom dependant...
I believe the key ta get from Bad to Good results is practice. .
Going ta have to accept the learning curve if ya want another refined tool in ya arsenal.

taking out the larfy stuff is definitely a top priority for me. after stretch is over i learned the hard way to SLOWLY take out the larf and excess fans... i get ALOT of excess fans with the bubba.

waiting til day 25 seems to be the magic number for my bubba in order to not stunt flower growth. i take probably 3 fans off my plants once every 2-3 days and a couple little larf branches/suckers in between. the plants in my 5kw stadium, 2gal pots 18" tall 12" wide ~60-80g plants (hopefully)

BHO is also an option... it can be very profitable and it's what i mostly use to medicate. it's important that the product be of high quality for the clubs to pay good money for it. if you're in a med state it's a great option... you can get a ton of it from just your trim anyways. i harvest 4lbs, get 2lbs of sugar trim... 20% yield wax budder whatever, that's ~180g of product. 180*30/g=5400

My understanding with stretch in vert is if ya want to slow the roll.
Lower the bulb and tie the arms into a screen.

Working on this issue myself the 1st time...

Find the best tech so I can use it too..lol...

I live in a non-med state. My friends, well most of em', are outta the loop. The first time i showed bho to any of them, they were like what's that stuff? Then i gave them a hit, and oh boy-just like in cheech and chong,"i ain't never smoked no shit like that in my life". They also don't mind paying 100 a gram for it, they love it, granted it's my head stash made from PURE bud. It's not larf either, only dank nugs for me hahahaha. Now for something completely different.
Alien Dawg, i have stacked bulbs, so my 400 is pretty low to start with.I tied alot of branches back to the screen i have, and bent some sideways, using the main stalk and a clip to keep the branches where i want, it's still a bitch. After this run i'm sure i will know what to do better. This one's for you AD, you ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light?

Here's some new pics. Been a few days since i took any. Things are moving along nicely. I learning that growing vert is kinda like growing under the sun, as far as the light falls on the plants. So i think i'm doing a good job at opening up budsites to be hit with light constantly. Definetly need to sit down and draw up some plans for a more efficient plant layout.

Thanks Mega, yeah i'm a firm believer in defoiliation. Believe it or not i started doing it on my own before i knew it was called that. It just made sense-only take leaves that block buds and make sure to leave enough leaves so it doesn't hurt the plants. When i said vert reminded me of growing outdoors, i had a picture in my head, well here it is. This plant was grown in a spot where it grew like a vert tree would, except the wall side was the brush side. I defoiliated her like a fucker, and got over a lb. off her. The best part is when i planted it, my grow partner didn't think it was a good spot, and said that plant won't get very big there......

Here's some updated pics of how things are coming along. The main batch hit 4 weeks on tuesday. There are four plants that are six weeks in, and a three that are coming down today. I have to say that i love how the plants on the wall are growing. Gonna be nice nugs from bottom to top, well at least i hope so. My deadheads are are track to make some of the biggest nugs i've grown of her yet.
I know my camera's not the best and i can't push myself to turn the lights off to snap some pics. And there's no way i'm gonna take pics with a flash in the dark. So this is what i have to show.

Here's another pic that i forgot, the plant in the corner is my exodus kush. They don't stretch very much, and they turn into little shrubs. The same goes for my deadhead's, very little stretch. So now i have two strains for my upper tier. I really like how they grow in this set-up, because i have some on the bottom tier, and they stratched just enough to fill the space without to much over crowding. I also have Humboldt seed org Chemdawg. That plant likes to grow tall in my set-up. So for my next run the hso chems will be the floor batch, and either all deadheads, or exodus kush on the top, or a 50/50 split. I'm a strain whore and mono-cropping isn't an option in my book, not enough room. I also have dinachem which is a brancy plant that stretches a good bit in flower. So maybe my bottom row can be a mix of hso chem and dinachem-idk, choices, choices. Anyways thanks for stopping by, and let me know what ya's think.

And here's a couple shots of where i veg. I always have a problem with vegging to many plants and taking too many clones. Oh well my friends love free clones(little trees), and in not long it will be nice outside.

More pics. I see everyone likes to look, and nobody wants to comment. Come on guys, mega, ic crane bobbles talk some shit, anything is better than nothing. Anyways, the farther along plants are just hitting week six. I have two exodus kushes that are at seven. I pretty much have a complete oval around my lights. The only place where the plants aren't stacked is where my moveable wall is to access the plants. I wanna put it on hinges attached to the wall so i can put a shelf with 2-3 plants on it. As of now i'm also figuring my bitches out, to find out where i should have certain strains in the grow according to stretch both sideways and vertical. I should have this fucker dialed after the next two harvests. Just finally got the temps under control, lights on is 80-82 lights out it's 69-72, close enough for me. My relative humidity i try and keep between 50-60%,usually 55%, only because i run purpetual and if i dropped it down to 40 for a few weeks while one batch finishes, the fresh batch would suffer, so i try and keep a happy medium for both batches. Anyway's on with the pics:

OK frankenstein2, I'm still a noob by most measures but I'll try to offer my thoughts.

it seems like the canopy never really filled in. perhaps they were flipped a bit too early or just didn't take off during stretch.

the tops of the bottom plants should be just getting up to the bottoms of the top plants after stretch so there isn't any gap.

it's harder with a perpetual multistrain room i would think. it's easier with however many nearly identical plants, perfectly shaped so everything stretches evenly into a nice full canopy.

Thanks mang finally!!!!! But yeah I'm trying to get my strains figured out for this setup, which ones to put down below and up top. Ive often thought that myself, that there is alot of empty wall space. I did also put the plants in on the smaller side of things. But thanks to you reaffirming it to me I know now I can veg them a little bigger. Thanks guys:dance013:
