3000W SCROG inspired by the "Doc"

I trim in two stages. First stage is to take a branch or something like a 12"+ section and very quickly trim around so all that's left is the little leaves, which requires patients. I set a pile(maybe 1 plant in your case) aside at a time. This doesn't take too long and it's the "fun part", for a while anyway.
Next stage is the shitty part, getting in for a close trim. But I make a decision which will get a close trim and which will not. So now I'll be making two piles. The stuff that looks a little wispy gets either left on the stem and thrown in a brown bag(to be dealt with later) or cut right off and put in said brown paper bag (usually sitting at edge of trim table so I can slide right in). This stuff is for hash, butter, or you can even pick through it later and find a decent nug or two if ya need. Sure there'll be a lil extra leaf on it, but who cares it'll brush right off.
So obviously the rest (top part) of bud gets the nice trim. And the tops are way easier to trim and much more satisfying. Who likes spending 10 minutes trimming some crap that's gonna dry up to a 1/2 gram when the same time of trimming will give a 1/4 ounce of dry tops.

as above,except sometimes in needs of desperation, after a crappy harvest .i need to trim all of those little crappy 1/2 gram popcorns to smoke myself.lol
You might want to invest in a trimmer machinetrimming is a pain in the arse
I'm hoping next round for some big colas!!! But there will always be those pain in The ass smaller buds.
My local grow store is offering me this trimmer for $500. Pretty good deal and I think this would really help speed things up.

You'll learn to trim faster every time. Specially with more dense buds. We separated out the last harvest and did the big buds and then the shit buds, made it must quicker. I keep the small buds to grind up and run in my vape. Eventually I'll use them to make hash with perhaps, but now I vape it all. It also goes a lot faster when we have 4 people doing it, tho, 2 of them always seem to pause while my buddy and I keep plowing through lol. Some of us have one goal in mind - getting it all done, and others have goals of US getting it done I guess that is what you get when you pay them by keeping the bong full. lol.

Then it will be full steam ahead again between sanitizing room, adding a/c and getting the rest of my new equipment built and up and running. Still hoping to have my new girls in a finished room by April 1st. But most likely won't be till the 5th or 6th? I'll try my best and go as hard as I can.

Yeah we usually rubbing alcohol at every bong break lol. Helps quite a bit. You're using Fisker micro tip pruners right? They're the win. I needed another pair and had a gift card to a hardware store and they didn't have Fisker's but rather full metal handled ones. They work great but the weight is heavier and everyone likes the Fisker's better. I want to get some electric shears like PK uses... Bad-asssss! But spendy. $500ish?
I'm looking forward to seeing what your dried weight comes in at. And especially next run this should be a great spring and summer, my 20gal pots will be flipped this coming weekend, stoked!

Yes fiskers. Have 4 pairs. Only using 2 right now. Maybe next harvest I will need some help and the other 2 pair will get used
I have a pretty good idea what dry weight will be but may as well wait another few days till its all said and done

Well they're sitting in veg right now. Due to my schedule with life, I don't have time to finish the 'remodel' and get them in flower. I'd have flipped last week ideally.. But they should be nicely sized bushes - and this is roughly my time schedule in the future anyway, a month in 20g's under a 1k, after a month in 3g's and a couple weeks in smaller ones. These girls have just been in the 3g's a good bit longer than a month, and even longer in small pots as I was waiting for the last round to finish..over a month ago! Whoops! Life gets busy sometimes tho.
I'm shooting for finish the build this coming Friday, get them into flower, and transplant the next 4 into 20's and the following next 4 into 3s Saturday! With a little luck, these 4 will finish up at the last week of May, and the next batch on the 1st of July. I am hoping to have a pretty solid 34 day cycle per 4 plants here on out. It will change slightly shorter/longer depending on what strains are running, but should be very consistent regarding date they go into flower.
Schedule wise, things have been a bit hectic in the past due to poor planning and more so, only having 1 x 1k in a tent. Now that I'm not using tents, I can get them some 1k time during veg without inhibiting flower time. And due to the reduction in batch-count (4 vs 6) and increase in permitted plants by the state (12 vs 6), I feel very comfortable about running massive plants in veg. Our state has pretty clear cut laws on veg plant size, and I wasn't comfortable pushing it so much, which reduced 'turn count' if you will, as they needed some time under a 1k. I'm really glad Doc convinced me to run less plants per hood!

Finished chopping today!!! Wow. Glad that's over with. Spent another 7 hours today doing the final 4 plants. That's a total of 28 hours trimming by myself. And those 28 hours is no fucking around!!! The 7 hours I did today was straight time! No stopping for food, no stopping for drink, and no stopping for a piss!!!! Which I had to do for the last 2-3 hours!!!!!
So we will give the plants I trimmed today 3 days to dry and then I'll have final weights.
These buds must be pretty damn solid though. The first 4 plants have spent 3 days drying and is now bagged up. 245 grams of medicine in a zip lock bag and its only 1/2 to 2/3 full!!! I'm used to seeing 227 grams of herb fill the bag at least 3/4 full!
Pics and weights to follow. Tomorrow I head out and buy the things I need to start building my tables and get my a/c mounted. Once that's done I'll do a heat treatment, and carry on with my broad mite annihilation!!!

I'm still voting vent your ac's outside. You're going to hate working in your garage this summer with the ac's exhausting into there! Then again - exhaust ducts from the back of the ac and out your roof would work fine. I can't wait to own so I can use a minisplit, myself.

50% where the buds are drying right now. Temps between 63-66 degrees.
Ya a/c will probably warm garage up a bit. I'm hoping between the fact that it will be night time that it won't get too bad in there.... we shall see.....
I was already exhausting my room into my garage this run and it was good. I'm assuming heat created by a/c should be similar? Yes it was winter time now but garage never got above 65-66.

Well LED looks like you got some medicine at least better then your plans of throwing it all out right... if my figures are correct looks like you got your self in around 1.5 pounds from them. By far not your best run your going to do.... but overall not bad either for 12 plants and your very first round at growing PERIOD.

Congrats at completing the cycle!
I must agree on the AC venting issue. My indoor mobile AC unit split one
of its ducts (that run to a window panel) and my mancave roasted quickly.
The heat vented is more than the cool produced, entropy and all. :0)

Way more heat than cool produced. But in LED's setup, he could 'easily' box in the back of the ac's and duct it out the roof. He's pretty handy, so bending up some tin for a box won't be too bad. I did it for my last AC, and will be doing it again soon when I triple AC size.
Otherwise the garage is going to roast. It'll be nice in the winter, but not in the summer. Minisplit FTMFW!

Agreed. I patched my duct, and the heat of operation was again vented
out of the man-cave. life went on happily. This was for mushrooms at
the time fwiw. :0)

Sounds tasty heh.
As well all know, LED is cool with side-talk in here... Thankfully. I'm looking at AC's and kicking myself in the ass for not getting an 18k last fall. Biggest used units I can find now are 12k! And I am way too cheap to spend $600 on a brand new 18k. That's like half of a minisplit, which I'd do, if I could hide it. Its just not possible in this spot.
The handy calculator in the ventilation subforum says I need like 27k, but it also said I needed like 15k for my last setup, and in reality 5.6k did a perfect job. So I wonder if I could get away with a 12k. I am always of the mindset of more is just enough, and I like things overbuilt... Hopefully someone sells a 18k in the next few weeks, I need to get AC installed before May I think. And knowing me, it'll take a few weeks to box it and install it.
