I just stumbled upon this thread, never heard of this blue light debate before. I'm very excited to see how this experiment turns out. Can't wait!

I predict many herms from potential good specimens.

May be the case, but we live in a diverse society, Herms are welcome as long as they do not reproduce.

I am not prepared to hazard a prediction, not enough info on the subject.

Seems we have some fans though, I will do my best to produce an honest result.

What I can say about the subjects, they are a pure Lanrace from the Himalayas, so there is no Hybrid genetics, it should be a really hardy specimen that can take some UV abuse, and hopefully weather the light flucuations.

For the record though, the plants likely won't be optimized and what I mean by that is, each subject will be flowering under one large CFL, they will be in one gallon pots, this is to put as limited resources into it without affecting the outcome of the experiment. I will also be looking for constructive input should they hermie, as I plan to go full cycle regardless of the outcome, this plant could be a success but it could be a mutant. Whatever the case if it hermies I am going to collect pollen and use it to test and see if this is a reliable method of producing chemical free Fem seeds.

I don't think they will hermie on you.

What makes you think they will?

Honestly I from all the reading I did on the subject the only reason I think they may hermie is do to light stress, or just too much high intensity blue light at night, the spectrum is right for the job and I am expecting more potency / Trichromes, more leafy matter, actually am really stoked about it.

I'm pumped to watch along with you! :)

How soon will the experiment begin and where da pictures at homie?

Yellow and blue make green right? I can follow this a bit I think. Blue is between 450nm thru 495nm I believe.

Essentially Cannabis has evolved under our sun which emits all spectrums life has seen from the begining, more blue light gets filtered out as the sun is lower in the sky as winter approaches, this red light or lack of blue light signals flowering. The blue light in my case 430 nm does not signal the plant to do anything other than make food and leafy matter. So to put it all together one can surmize that the blue light can remain lit and photosynthisize while the red spectrum signals the flowering phase with a 12/12 light cycle.

So expect crazy growth and stretch in flower?

I am not sure about the stretch, but prolly veggy rowth, curious to see if it continues to produce bud sights, It would be pretty awesome to see some significant yield increases with the initial $40 investments.

a quick disclaimer, I am definately not the brains behind this, I have to thank the OP for the post and the supporters there in for the idea, I am just putting up the girls and building the stuff.

I hope this is awesome!!!

i was party to some testing on this idea a while back.

the plant left under the blue light 24hr (with the red on 12/12) stayed in veg.

thats not to say you might find a different result.

good luck

It would be important to know what nm of blue your party used to compare to SD's here.
