Hey Delta :tiphat: could I ask ya 2cent on Rockwell as a medium and or wick in the new style..
Thinking single piece formed in wide bowl with a single piece wick a 1/2" taller than the bottom of bowl. (Into the top Rockwell)

Either with pulse/saturation type feeds ?

i wish i could help you AD but i only have one disastrous experience with it about 13 years ago and ran like hell. never went back.

what, do you just intentionally look for challenges? it is a common theme amongst those afflicted with the curse of the ppk.

well, i did have a description here last night but it's gone somehow so here goes again.

the first 2 pics are plant #2 and that's a 2' level for reference. it was flowered at 4 weeks 4 days (3/29). on friday. the right hand plant was put in on monday (4/1) at exactly 4 weeks.

i wanted to flower them at 3 weeks but did not have the flower room ready.

plant #1 was cut up for clones so these two here are from my old clones. ok but not what i will get when i have fast growing fresh clones.

root development at 4 weeks on the right hand plant. with this much root the container still drains fast.

i've got 2 of my light fixtures stacked to flip up and down instead of side to side.

an overall shot of the plumbing. i used 2" pvc to get more wall to drill and tap into. the carlon fittings will thread into a 1/2" pipe tap. i used goop on these. no leaks so far.

on the buckets i used the carlon fittings with their "o" ring and nut. again no leaks.

the center tube is the pulse feed from the pump and the outer 2 are the drains.

i have 64" width for each of ten plants. the pipe fittings and the lights are on the same 64" centers.

the plants can be moved around anywhere within their spaces.

the reservoir is a truck box. the pvc fittings i used as thru fittings are carlon electrical conduit fittings. regular pvc fittings will not work as they are tapered pipe thread and the carlon fittings are machine thread and so will go all the way down against the bulkhead.

it took one 100' piece of 5/8" garden hose cut into 5' sections to do these ten positions.

the pump can be removed by taking out the 1/4" x 1" stainless lag screw by hand.

that's another one gal rubbermaid container holding the float. it has a 3/64" hole in the bottom.

Looking good.

How much was the truck box? I like it alot.

Cages, training?

the truck box is about 110 bucks but don't buy one of these! this is from tractor supply and is built really tough but it sweats. apparently it is micro porous somehow. i'm already looking for another box. i might be able to coat it with something.

because of lack of time these two have had only rudimentary training. i am moving one of the ac's over to the veg room to get a little more temp control there.

i'm still trying to figure out what to do about cages. you can see the plants in their current position. i've got them pushed up close to the lights.

but as they grow i will need to push them back towards the wall. so if i use cages they have to move with them.

i've got galvanized wire and eyehooks up on the ceiling now and can add more easily right now.

also a four foot cage is not tall enough.

how far out do you position the cages? from the main stem? i had 6' branches last time on some plants.

That is the build.

Everything in right.

Nice job.

As for the cages, I would recommend a triangular plywood base, with two upright fence pieces. (Easiest way to approximate the light profile.

If they are 64" on center, do a quick light calculation on productive intensity for flower. Build the cages about that deep. Then you have a decent reference for where larf is gonna happen. I've never seen great flower development three feet inside the canopy. (Ball park estimate: 16" off of stem.)

Your hi-lows will help with this by multiple points of light. Single points of light are in danger of crowding.

Beautiful build.

Dead fucking on.

Looks great D9, I chopped my PPK plant last night she threw a couple nanners I think from getting too close to the light, she was at 9 weeks last night and the trichs were all cloudy with a few amber so I was like what the hell why not. Your new set up look wonderful man.

Its pretty easy to move the cages with the ppk.. not sure how big mine were.

You could use the four foot fencing and make a cylinder that will fit inside the top bucket...
Thats what I am doing in the new spot.

Then you can weave around the cage and tie back to the cage etc

Your plants look a lil big, you could tie them up like xmas tress and then slip the cage over, untie them and work them through. (i have done this in the past)

My old cages worked well but took up precious crawling space on the ground.

The box is sweating? are you sure its not condensation?
Seems like a truck box should be water proof.

What are the dimensions of your room again?

If it is condensation:

What about constructing a foam insulation board box to sit that truck box in. Might be a cheap alternative ($20 for the foam sheet) as opposed to finding something else to use.

My Rubbermaid "farm tanks" are some kind of pvc foam construction, but do not leak in any way.
