Make sure you equipment is thoroughly sanitized my friend. And i agree with the nematode hypothesis, onlyway to kill them is to use a parasitic nematode that will eat the ones you have

:yeahthats

Took the dogs for a run today, and when I got back, I figured I may as well stay outside a little longer (after all, it was a balmy 39 degrees here!).. I dumped out the root ball from the Goat and picked through it. It's not as bad as some I've seen photos of, but the roots were definitely knotted and farked up a bit. Not the healthiest root mass on which I've ever laid my eyes..

By the time I got inside, chores finished, showered up, and to the garden center at 4:30, .. The f*ckers close at 4! :wallbash:

Anyway, yeah - the mission there was some predatory nematodes. I've used them one in the past, to take care of some fungus gnats. VIOLA! Like nothin', the predatory nematodes wiped that shit out.

For about $20, I get a sponge roughly 5" x 7", full of the buggers. (From there, take the sponge in water, work it/wring it/etc, .. And take THAT water and add it to whatever amount you'll be watering in)

jbg29, the next project, born from this one, will be to research & perhaps just keep my own predatory nematode culture cookin'..

The reading I've done seems to suggest that it's a bit like maintaining a worm bin, but I need to read more.. Part of me wonders why I couldn't just take a bit of the sponge/predatory guys, and pour it into a pot full of EWC and some soil and other organic matter. From there, I'm curious to wonder if the predatory guy population can sustain & grow itself based on whatever matter is in the mix..?

Need to read s'more. But I'd love any thoughts/experiences from y'all..

Now thats a novel idea of what to do with lifes lemons.

The ND looks sick! And not the way the GG does.

Thanks wildgrow! That is correct - when life hands you lemony weed [for which you do not care in the first place], no matter how sickly the plant, ..

The good lord sez to take that shit, do a hackjob trim on it (which was my pleasure!), string it up in a box, blast a fan on that shit 'til bone dry, grind it up, pack in tube, blast with butane, etc.

:D

And thanks on the ND! She oughtta come down next week - 'round 84-85 days.

Now THAT's an endorsement!

Mission biological control, GO.

Set loose 5,000,000 predatory nematodes tonight.

How do I know it was that many? Because I counted each and every one, duh.

 The mental image that brings to mind.........

Reminds me of too much LSD and MDMA one particular night, violently throwing up in the toilet, and watching the specks of dust come to life and start skittering around the rim of the toilet.

Ahhhh.. Memories..

/alcohol may've been a factor

 Been there once or twice candy flipping myself. Reminds me of that scene in fear and loathing in las vegas. The one where del torro is puking the red salmon. "God damn mescaline, why can't they make it just a little less pure".

I love this scene:

"Maybe, .. You could just.. shove me into the pool?"

"If I put you in the pool right now, you'll sink like a god damn stone.

..You took too much man, you took too much, too much...

Don't try and fight it. You'll get brain bubbles, strokes, aneurysms.. You'll just wither up and die."

Nightmare Diesel @ day 85

First things first, sorry for the lousy quality. Was on full auto, took about 3 shots, and got down to biz. I hate trimming.

Having seen & fondled the plant, I've made a few observations.

For starters, I think I need to be taking a better look-see without the HPS glow.

It almost looks to me like the middle (vertical) stripe of the plant took some abuse from the light. Or, more correctly, I think, heat.

In an unrelated story, I've been thinking about rearranging the setup in the room. I've gotten rid of the shelves - the mission will be to flower out fewer (4-5?), larger plants.

For whatever reason (physically unable/incompetent/uninterested/whatever), I've got a hard time keeping up with 8 ladies in flower, and keeping things consecutive lickety-split. (Being limited to a total of 12 plants, and trying to fuck with seeds at the same time, is a large hurdle in the keeping-up thing).

Anyway. back to the light/heat. The room is 3 feet deep, and 4 feet wide. That means that the back wall (where the ND was) is only 18" from the light, where as the shorter walls are 24" from the light.

Back to the "fewer, larger plants" deal, even before the slightly cooked ND chunk, I'd decided I'd start with plants in each "corner" (not wedged in there, but cornerish), vs. one per wall. (Because one "wall" is the door, and experience has shown me that it's a royal pain in the ass to have a plant in your face when you open the door, all up in your way).

So, short story long, I've kind of already soved the heat/scorch thing, on accident.

For y'all, I even broke out the classic Elementary School Yearbook backdrop:

This batch was also more leafy/flurffy than I've done with her. She's a food hog - I've f'd up in the past by cutting her N too soon into flower.

Now, I'm wondering if I might've pushed her too hard, too long with the N. Also thinking a heat situation could've contributed as well. Anyway.

It made my trimming experience that much lousier. Did I mention, I hate trimming?

Y'know, I had more to this, and more on my brain, but I forgot. Anyway, in a nutshell, happy to be moving on, happy to have a decent harvest, not entirely stoked on the final result, #s will for sure fall below my expectations, but living to fight another day.

Here's what a slaughtered Goat looks like:

BHO is perfectly fine so long as it's been properly purged of all butane.I love taking dabbs, just wish I could do it more often.

Hey budman! :tiphat:

Still using a souped up soil, but I do supplement with teas and top dressings here'n there.

That's a good question - someone smarter'n me should probably chime in. :)

But while I understand the concerns (How do you know you've purged all the butane? How do you know there are no other chemicals left behind? etc), I take a kind of halfass-educated + head-in-the sand view. That is, at some point, I have to factor this into my brain: "You know what? The air outside is probably horrible. People smoke cigarettes, 20 of 'em and more, every day. ..."

So in a certain respect, I figure the exposure is fairly limited, things could be worse, etc.

Not exactly a sound, responsible thought process - that I will concede. :) But, you asked what I thought, and I told ya. ;)

On that note, I will tell you, .. I was a dry sift fanatic for a long time (still am) -- honestly didn't understand all the excitement/hype around BHO. (And, like you, was a little leery) .. I used to think "What could be better than a big bong rip of some kif?" ..

And then I did a good solid dab of some erl, and HOLY SHIT.

I was just explaining to someone this week, it's like the crack of weed.
