There has been speculation regarding President Obama’s “citizen army”. In 2008, President Obama made statements regarding a “civilian national security force”. Since that day, many have been curious as to what President Obama had in mind when he made that statement. Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY13) may have just given a bit of insight into what was meant when he introduced H.R. 748 last week.

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,” Obama said as a candidate in 2008.

H.R. 748 would require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 25 to perform “national service”. These persons in the United States would either serve the country as a member of uniformed services or as civilian service. The civilian service could be served with a Federal, State, or local government program. The local government programs include community-based organizations. H.R. 748 would “authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, to provide for the registration of women under the Military Selective Service Act, and for other purposes”

H.R. 748 was introduced on Feb. 14, 2013 and was referred to the House Armed Services Committee the same day. The chair of the committee, Rep. Buck McKeon (R-CA) will determine whether the bill will move past the committee stage. Opponents and of H.R. 748 are being encouraged to call Rep. McKeon and tell him how they feel about the bill, (202) 225-1956, (661) 274-9688, (661) 254-2111. They are also encouraged to send him tweets and post on his Facebook page. my take on this whole doomsday thing is 1 day its gonna come and be prepaired with knowlegde first and formost i might not be able to cop sum sweet ass preps like water filtration or mre and the like but i bet you i could distill or make up my own filtration system.and grow/hunt my own food(never even hunted a day in my life)(but fishing yes )

only 400 american citizens are needed to cover the budget for 2 years. yes, the richest 400 americans can cover the 900 billion federal budget for 2 years. the forbes 400 richest americans total over 1.7 trillion dollars altogether.

so, to anybody who says 1.2 trillion is a lot. i say it is not. it takes less than 400 people to cover that cost. because we are both poor it may seem like a lot, common sense is not always so.

the real question is... if 400 people can cover the cost of running something the size of the US gov... what do they need us for? why don't they get on a private train and move to the mountains and start a new society ala atlas shrugged(cause that wont f'n work)

heres a long economic road to walk down.... slaves existed right? the whole input/output thing. they lived off of garbage and produced real value. slaves made money didn't they(for somebody)? they consume almost nothing also. so... whats the opposite of a slave? in economic sense. slaves consume very little and contribute massive amounts of product/service to the economy. could there be something that does the opposite? could there be something that does nothing but consume products and services? something that consumes but contributes very little to the actual economy, produces nothing for it - but consumes much of it?

while the north got the south to abolish slavery, both the south and the north love collecting rent. the answer my very well be atheism.

There is a bill that has been presented in our state legislature that is seeking to ban any Agenda 2 items that try to get pushed onto our state. Will be interesting to see how both sides react to it. That is if it even make it out of the committee for a vote. I know the democratic members of our town board started laughing when a citizen brought it up before they totally dismissed him as fear mongering.

We do need to be aware that this economic problem is very real. It's had to be prepared for all scenarios but this isn't wild conjecture.

Solutions for our problems could be found but our chicken shit leaders won't face reality on many fronts. I certainly don't want to live like mad max and no one will be secure if this happens.

It is biblical prophesy that a huge world wide economic failure will occur and a giant Great Quake that will be felt world wide. Prophets of doom suck.

I don't like what is see though. We are capable of Better things than half assed economic temporary fixes. You are just putting off the inevitable.

Like the population explosion that clearly ends in disaster without control. How many humans on Earth is enough? Some say the planet can support fifty billion but won't this wild growth eventually reverse?

IMO over population is a myth. In order to just maintain the population as it is now every couple must have more than two children to replace themselves and to account for all of those that do not or cannot have children. If you take a step back and actually flesh out the math we have peaked in population. Many factors play into the population including democide which is the mass murder of citizens by the government. Which took the lead over war as the number one cause of non-natural death in the 20th century.

I see a lot of educated and concerned folks posting in here. We are doing this because we care about our fellow man. There comes a time were you can't deny the facts. Some of us have been studying our current political and economic situation for years now and see the trends unfolding before our eyes and the red alert has been sounding since 2001. It's as simple as this. Criminals have taken control of our country through our banking and political systems. They are in the process of looting all the wealth of our once great nation. The last real president this country had was Kennedy and they killed him. Even congress said that was a conspiracy but the media helped sweep it under the rug like every other piece of damning evidence because they think we're so dumb. They have setup a totally controlled economy and then brainwashed everyone into thinking it's actually capitalism. In order to understand why they have done this, you must put in time to read and understand how they have done this. They have bought off politicians to change and undermined laws that were in place to protect us from these predators. Our constitution is being dismantled and called obsolete or old. The founders wrote the constitution because of these very same people. The Monarchs of Europe and the Baking Cartel had enslaved EVERYONE until 1776! yeah most of the free land not already inhabited is uninhabitable, as people expect to be able to live anyway.. texas is uninhabitable, they had to abuse the environment to allow it to be what it is already..

as we are living currently the human population has already gone well into overshoot,, meaning we have surpassed the carrying capacity of our environment and a crash is inevitable.. however if humans were living as we should be then the population would be no problem, it is all about how much stress something places on its surroundings, and that is relative..

people are not meant to live in cities.. they are a relatively new invention since the neolithic era as a response to certain unpredictable environmental factors..

lifespans will get shorter generation on generation for a while because the methods of depopulation are already being implemented and have been for a while, austerity/pollution and overcrowding is the excuse, that and very very soon global food shortages..

The population is *not* doubling every 35 years, and if it were earth would not sustain those levels of people, and population would decline naturally.

We are seeing this happen right now. We gain less and less % of population every 15 years. That means we are slowing growth.

Eventually it will peak, and then start to decline.


I do not believe it is up to other people to determine who is allowed a chance at life, and who isn't.

I do believe it is up to ourselves to decide to live better and make better life choices, to help our planet and eachother.

Don't get me wrong, I agree the world is in a bad spot, and it is our fault. But we have the power to change that. WITHOUT use of draconian eugenics.

The show Doomsday Preppers seems a bit extreme in many cases and the show actually disputes the likelihood of any of the scenarios really happening but there is one I find likely.

The one is a world wide economic failure causing disruptions.

What would happen if the US dollar became suddenly almost worthless? It is the worlds reserve currency and dollars are sold to the world every day. Planet Earth is flooded with US dollars.

Currently the USA is the worlds largest single economy and we are deficit spending at about a 60 percent. We have like 1.2 trillion in revenues and we borrow like 1.6 trillion a year.

This won't be good for anyone and I really don't see a solution. Would love to hear what you think and why I am wrong.
